This article is part of my ongoing series on the Soul.

It is a fact that within us all are particles of the universe, and you are made of starlight.

It is this spark of Divine Light embedded in you that is available to guide you throughout your life.

Amazingly, deep within you is a felt sense of what is right.  This is your spark of Divine Light. This is your Soul.

You are designed to be aligned with and aware of what is good.  This goodwill toward others is at the core of your being.

Troubling at times is also a sense of knowing when lies are being fostered, and deep within you is also a nagging awareness of when something is wrong.

Listening To Your Soul

Learning to listen to that inner wisdom is important. You are a child of God and although you may be swayed by the influence and opinions of others, deep within you have a sense of knowing particularly what is right and what is not right.

This deep sense of knowing is the start of connecting with the presence of your Soul. It is always with you.

How much you use your Soul to guide you depends completely on you and the decisions and choices you make. Your Soul is always available but is never controlling or demanding. That is part of the amazing miracle of free will in life.

One of life’s amazing opportunities is the dance and dynamic of knowing and ultimately deciding between what is right and what is wrong. Your Soul, your spark of Divine Light is given to you to help and support you in making that choice.  It is always available for you, but it waits for your invitation.

You can, throughout your life call upon the wisdom of your Soul to guide you and help you determine what is right for you in the many times in life you may be being told things that are untrue.  Within you, from deep within you, your Soul will resonate with a recognition of TRUTH.

You sometimes may not listen to that recognition, but it gives you a felt sense deep within you of what is truly right, even when others are trying to convince you to do or believe what that sense is telling you is wrong.

As you journey through life you are presented with a myriad of choices that are presented to you moment by moment.

Thought Leader Bernie Gunther once created a little poem that speaks to this dynamic. “There’s a positive side and a negative side and at each moment you decide.”

This is truer than you might realize but fortunately you are not alone in having to make that decision because you have a spark of Divine Light within you to help guide you.

Whether or not you choose to listen to it or dismiss it and ignore it is totally up to you in the moment you are experiencing it.

Sadly, the input of others can be a powerful force. And only you can decide what is right for you.

Life is amazingly only lived moment by moment.  Ponder on this!

Within that truth and within that concept is both great power and freedom.

I suggest that you consider and ponder on this for more than a minute, for within that truth is the key to happiness.

In the moment no problem and no pain are unbearable. It is when you take things out of the moment and project them into the future or begin to believe they will always be that way that worry, and fear get control.

That makes being present and being in the present a tool that is powerful beyond your imagining.  This is an awareness that your Soul can bring to you.

Part of accessing and using your Soul to guide you is the availability and perspective of eternity that is known as the eternal NOW.

The eternal NOW consciousness and awareness may not be fully understood but just the touch of it can vault you into an inner sense of truth and knowing about the many choices and decisions you are called upon to make in life.

That “Touch of the Soul” empowers you to choose good over evil, right over wrong, and most importantly love over hate.

These are important life choices to make.  These are moment by moment the decisions and choices you make that impact who you are and what you are as a human being.

Calling on your Soul to guide you grants you a superpower to live a life informed and empowered by Divine Light and even Divine Love.

By calling upon your Soul to guide you are engaging with and aligning with Divine Will.

That cannot help but bring you into the awareness of Divine Love, for the Divine nature of God is Love.

Connecting to Divine Love also informs your choices of right over wrong.

Using your Soul to help you make the myriad of moment-by-moment choices with which life presents you opens you to begin the exalted journey of being and becoming all that you can be and were created to be as a Soul-infused personality.

You are a being who is made of starlight, and infused with a spark of Divine Light, and a Soul, and you are also a creature who has a personality, a mind, and emotions.

The challenge of which part of you is in control and which part of you makes the moment-by-moment decisions about: what you think, what your feel, and what you choose from the great smorgasbord of life decisions and life choices is what this great adventure of life is all about.

The amazing and wonderful thing about life is that you are who makes the choices.

That is both the power and the promise of life. Free will assures you of that.

What you choose, what you decide, is important to you and all humankind.

Fortunately, in life’s adventure you are not alone.  All people everywhere are engaged in making the exact same kind of life decisions you are.

If people choose good over evil, truth over lies, kindness and compassion over selfishness and greed, that affects the whole world, societies, governments, war, and peace.

Your choices matter by influencing the energy of thought into matter and the tenor of what happens.

It is awareness of the group nature of reality that makes the principles of: Harmlessness, Right Speech, Right Relationships, Right Action, Right Governance, all important.

Demonstrating kindness is a way that you can help support and empower the positive choices that others are making in the world.

It is in the community of fellowship that positive change impacts the world in which we all live.

It is as Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see.”

You are made of Starlight embedded and informed by Divine Light, infused with Divine Love, and supported throughout your life by access to the guidance of your Soul.  That touch of your Soul offers but never demands or requires.  It offers you the opportunity to integrate these exalted energies into your life in all the choices you are challenged to make.”

This is a gift.  This is a blessing, and this is the way that you and your consciousness grow and evolve into the amazing being you were created to be.

Invite the Presence of Your Soul

Accessing your Soul and being guided by it is best achieved through a combination of meditation, invocation, intention, and visualization.

To empower you and enable you to experience and invite the presence of your Soul there is an ancient meditation mantram from the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom that I would like to share with you.

Before you begin inviting and accessing the wisdom of your Soul I suggest and recommend that you prepare by having a paper and pen near you so that you can capture any insight and guidance that could become available to you.

This is a powerful tool to invite and invoke your Soul.  It is best done meditatively and contemplatively. Then if seeking guidance on a troubling life choice I suggest that you gather your journal so that you can record any thoughts and impressions you may receive from your Higher Consciousness, your Soul.

In the Ageless Wisdom we are assured that calling upon your Soul, immediately and spontaneously activates your access through invocation, intention, meditation, or prayer. Calling upon your Soul, for support, wisdom or insight opens you to an alignment with the Divine that is always available to you because that is both who and what you are.

I also recommend that before you begin to meditate that you take a moment to: “Calm your mind, open your heart and invite the light.”

 

A Meditation to Invite and Align with Your Soul

 

To begin, sit comfortably and receptively.

Take a deep breath, relaxing and receptively surrender your weight to your chair.

As you do this realize you are being supported by the chair, which is supported by the floor, which is supported by the earth.  Realize that you find your support of the earth.

Surrender to the gentle pull of gravity knowing and trusting that it will always be there to help you relax and reach to the wisdom of your Soul whenever you need it.

Imagine your Soul to be like a Star of Light (a Soul Star) that is about 6 to 12 inches above your head.

Take a moment to pause and just breath deeply and evenly as you calm your mind.

In that pause realize that by connecting with your Soul you are opening your heart, letting love heal any part of you that needs to be restored to harmony and balance.

As you invite the light you are choosing to align with what is good, and right.

With the help of your Soul, exhale one deep breath imaging that with this exhale you are releasing any negative energies in your body, emotions, and mind that may be impacting your life, bringing you to a relaxed and receptive state.

Now visualize a two-way energetic conduit connecting your Soul Star to the higher energies of Divine Light and Divine Love.

Imagine that Light and Love coming to rest on the top of your head, and with another deep breath visualize it entering you and circulating clockwise on the breath throughout your whole being, filling your mind with insight and wisdom and filling your heart with the energy of divine love and peace.

Let that light energy, as it circulates, enrich, and infuse you to just the right amount (known by your Soul) as you continue with this mantram by saying:

I Am the Soul, and also Love I AM.
Above all else, I am will and clear design.

My will is now to lift the lower self into the Light Divine.

That Light I Am;
therefore, I must descend to where the lower self awaits my coming.

Now, making no attempt to control your breath, imagine and visualize your Soul energy descending from your Soul Star and entering your body through a lotus of light at the top of your head in the location of what is known as your crown chakra.

As that Light energy enters your being at the top of your head realize that you are given the power to move that Light as you direct it to circulate (in a clockwise pattern) creating a triangle from the top of your head to your ajna center (a minor chakra also called the third eye which is located between your physical eyes.)

Then conclude the triangle inside your head by bringing the light energy to the alta major center, a minor chakra located at the top of your spine.

Let the energy circulate through the triangle you have created with 3 breaths, integrating your Soul with your mind.

Visualize that Soul Light and Soul Love moving with your breath, on your breath naturally, gently, and easily as the energies move (clockwise) up and down your spine along an etheric energetic path that is known as the central energy channel which is located about 2 inches behind your physical spine.

In this way you are integrating your higher Soul with your lower personality helping to bring about personality and Soul integration and fusion.

Relaxed and receptive continue the circulation of these energies as long as feels right to you.

Moving the energies through the easy circulation of your breath up and down your central energy channel integrates and infuses you with the wisdom of your Soul and empowers you to make the choices that are wise and right for you in the moment of time in which you find yourself.  It clarifies your vision and empowers you to know Right Action.

Then continue the Mantra by saying:

That which intends to lift,
and that which invokes the lifting are NOW at ONE.

SUCH IS MY WILL.

Then conclude your meditation by sounding the sacred sound of the OM three times.

As the OM resonates from and through you, see your Soul Light and Soul Love empowering and infusing the space around you as a blessing to the world.

 

Now take a brief pause to recap in your heart and mind what you have done.

Tune into your Soul to know the truth

Lastly, return to your day, your work, and your life letting the wisdom of your Soul influence and permeate your mind, your thoughts, and your emotions, realizing that having done this meditation you are a blessing to the world and source for Divine Light entering the world.

You Are Not Alone

-Connecting through Love

You are not alone!

Even if those you loved have left, passed on, or you have lost contact, you are not alone.

I believe the mystical and magical nature of Love builds an etheric connection between Souls when you love that is beyond space and beyond time. It is this etheric connection that gives truth to the reassurance that "Love never ends."

When you Love, you create something that is eternal. That creation of Love is not limited by matter. It exists in the realm of the Soul and is available in your heart and your consciousness.

Spiritual vs. Physical Senses

It is easy in life to begin to believe that the only reality is the physical and material reality, but that is not true. However, the nature of the Soul, and indeed the nature of Love, are things that are coming into increasing clarity in our present evolution of human perception.

What is spiritual is real. Life is more than what is physical. Perceiving the reality that lies beyond what is physical and opening your awareness to the incredible breadth and scope of what is real is not limited to sight, sound, touch, taste, or smell. What is significant is that you can feel what part of a spiritual reality is. Even if you go through a process of convincing yourself that what you feel is not real.

This discrimination between what is real vs. what is unreal is fundamental to the evolution of consciousness in humanity. Sadly, over the past few hundred years of human evolution, science, because of the emphasis on repeatable and observable experimentation of the scientific method has limited the ability to understand and experience the elements of life that are spiritual in nature.

That makes many of the very best parts of our human experience not be perceived or understood.

Life to be fully lived and enjoyed requires an ability to blend the awareness of what is physical with what is spiritual. That is because, as a human being, you are a blend of the spiritual and the physical world. Your nature is to be both physical and spiritual, and your consciousness is expanding to understand and include both.

The study and experiments of Noetic Sciences that have been a part of modern science have begun to confirm much of what spiritual teachers have been saying for years but have been dismissed as mere faith. Sadly, that has also meant that because your ability to perceive a truth required belief led to rejecting what is spiritual as not real. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Consider Love. You cannot touch it. You cannot see it. You cannot hear it. You cannot smell it or taste it. But you certainly can feel it. It is real.

If you let yourself experience, Love can bring you more joy and satisfaction than anything you can touch, see, smell, or taste. But, because it’s true essence is not in the material world, it is often dismissed or confined within your mind to be limited to sexual pleasure and gratification that results in defining something that is primarily a spiritual experience to one that is physical.

Sex is a physical experience, but Love is a spiritual experience. The unfortunate failure of the human experience to discriminate between sex and Love has brought much pain and suffering.

The stubborn insistence on ignoring and denying anything that can be perceived beyond the physical senses is the core issue in discrimination in human consciousness between what is real vs. what is unreal; what is temporal vs. what is eternal.

Love Never Ends

The stark reality that your physical body will die may generate fear, a fear that results in rejecting the part of your being that will not and cannot die, your Soul. The Soul, your Soul, is real. Your Soul is integrally involved in Love because the nature of your Soul is Love.

When you Love, it is your Soul that creates an eternal bond that transcends death and allows you to experience what is eternal. It is what allows the truth that "Love never ends" to be a part of the human and the spiritual experience simultaneously.

Ponder that for a moment!

Examine your heart as you consider those you have loved and those who have loved you. Allow yourself to put aside the illusion that only what can be perceived with your five senses is real. Let the resonance of truth expand your awareness and consciousness.

This is the reality that you as a Soul have while you have a human body. To let your consciousness expand to the awareness of your Soul is the next step in human evolution. Love serves as the bridge from your human experience to the perception of your Soul.

It is the nature of Love to allow matter (your physical self) to reach your Soul (whose nature and substance is Love). In this way, matter (which is a substance that has no love and is not Love) can be transformed.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

This transformation of matter by Love is what makes Love the solution to the Universal issue of redemption. This is an act of salvation in which every human being participates when they learn to Love.

Love, because it is eternal, can free humanity from the limitations of Life that fear creates. Fear is the greatest enemy of humanity. Like Love, fear cannot be touched, seen, heard, or smelled. However, like Love, fear can be felt and sensed.

Ironically, these two significant life experiences (fear and love) have opposite effects in life. Fear limits and often incapacitates your life force. Love expands and enhances your understanding of life beyond what is temporary and material into what is both eternal and spiritual.

In order to help you with this transformation, I have created this simple meditative exercise on the connection of love.

A Meditative Exercise on the Connection of Love

So that one may fully experience the comfort of this meditative exercise there are some energetic principles you must ponder on in order to start:

  1. Love creates a bond that is not limited by either space or time.
  2. You can strengthen and solidify that bond by affirming and confirming that connection by focusing on and opening to your Soul, realizing that Love is both limitless and eternal.  Through your Soul, on the wings of Love, anyone you have ever loved is available to you in meditation when you let your heart, your mind, and your Souls connect.
    1. No one with whom you have forged a Love bond is ever lost to you, whether they are still living in their body or not. What is Spiritual and energetic does not require material substance.  The power of Love is that it is free to cross the barriers between spirit and matter.
  3. That is true of those you are separated from by death, and those you are separated from by the situations and circumstances of life.
    1. Those from whom you have been separated by situations and circumstances may require consciously detaching from any waves of anger, or resentments that may have interfered with or limited your Love connection.  If that is the case, to open and release your Soul Love connection, forgiveness may be necessary.
    2. It is important to understand that forgiveness like Love is an energetic process and does not require anything on the physical and material plane to happen.  Connecting Soul to Soul (imagining a golden thread from you Soul Star to the Soul Star of the one you once shared a Love bond is sufficient.)

In life the energies of Love and forgiveness are entwined with gratitude and appreciation.

When you in your mind, heart, and Soul have remembered and connected with the Love you once shared, it is time now to offer upon the wings of Love, the forgiveness of the other.

This forgiveness is empowered when you also forgive yourself for your previous limitations and failures to Love.  In so doing, you now have created a miracle of release deep within your being that opens the energy of Love to be available to you.

At this time, to facilitate this release please use the powerful forgiveness technique that comes to us from Hawaiian shamans using a repetition of three simple phrases:

Thank you

I Love you

Please forgive me

These phrases come from the practice of Hoʻoponopono [ho-o-pono-pono] which is an ancient proven Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.

I have found adding these additional words at this time can be very helpful:

I forgive you and

I’m sorry

Doing this ritual of remembering and forgiveness is powerful.

The Love connection that is freed by forgiveness releases your Love from the bonds of attachment and allows the Love to flow unconditionally which is the nature of Love.

I suggest that this meditative exercise is enhanced by doing it with your journal near you and that in your journal you write the names of those with whom you have practiced this Love connection, Love affirmation exercise.

You can make a connection with whomever you have lost contact with, whether through death or circumstances.  Then open your heart, your mind, and your Soul to the comfort and sensation of being loved. Knowing you are never alone.

When you need to refresh and restore your awareness of the connection of Love in your life you will have a way you can call upon the energetic connections with whom you have forged the eternal bonds of Love in your life.

At this time imagine yourself held energetically with the arms of Love. You can let yourself feel comforted and caressed by the bonds of Love.

Let this exercise and meditation remind you that you are not alone, and comfort and console you in times of loneliness and sorrow.

Enhance your sense of connection by imagining your Soul Star connected with those you have lost physical continuity with, in triangles of Light.  You can expand your sense of connection by visualizing in addition to your Soul to their Soul (3 feet above your head), lines of energy from your mind to their mind (at the ajna center near the brow of your eyes) and your heart to their heart.

For those relationships that are still living, you may wish to take the additional step in the future (when safe) of physically getting back in touch or re-connecting. Even though this exercise is mostly energetic and etheric its feeling and gratitude can be manifested on the material plane also.

Opening your heart, your mind, and your Soul to Love connects you energetically and often telepathically so if you do search out those with whom you shared a Love bond, you may find that they have been remembering you or thinking of you also.

This is especially true of the (Philos) Love of friends whom you may have lost contact along your life path.

This simple meditative exercise is a celebration of Love in life.  Experiment with it.  Approach it with joyful playfulness and let yourself be restored and refreshed by the awareness of Love in your life and gratitude for those you have loved, and those who have loved you.

Remember Love never ends!

 

We Are All Connected Through Love
& You Are Not Alone

When you open your heart, mind, and awareness into a consciousness of Love, you realize you are not alone.

You are supported by those you are connected with through Love, whether they are physically present or not in your Life. Anyone with whom you have formed the bond of Love is energetically linked to you beyond time or space constraints.

The more you allow yourself the awareness of that connection, the less confined you are by your physical body, and the more freedom your consciousness can perceive. Much of the emotions of suffering and loss are healed by opening your awareness to the Love that is available to you at any moment.

Love, of course, is not attached. It just is. Love requires nothing of you and nothing from you. That is a part of the miraculous nature of Love. It frees you to be you with no limitations. It is eternal and available.

Love Created Is Eternal

Love Is The Only Thing You Can Create In Life That Is Eternal

In life, one of the strongest urges we have is to create.

For some people, the very act of creation is the driving and motivating force of their life.

For others, the creative urge is focused on creating something lasting. Indeed, the urge to create fuels a great deal of life, in the arts, in business, with families across all cultures and communities.

This urge to create has as many expressions as there are people. For some, the very act of creating something is enough. They are satisfied by the appearance of their creativity and the experience created or the product designed meets their needs. For others they long for something that is lasting, something that exists after their life has passed.

Not Much Lasts the Passage of Time

Many long to see the result of their creativity live beyond their material life. Architects who build and have built grand structures may feel they have captured eternity in their creations. Truly some buildings last a very long time. The nature of the material world is such that eventually, even the most significant accomplishments of human creativity crumble or fade from the attention of others.

When we consider the nature of the material world, we are all aware that nothing ever built and nothing was ever written that lasts forever. Civilizations rise and fall all ravaged and ultimately destroyed by the passage of time.

The urge to create is continuously frustrated by the reality about the human life experience not being everlasting.

This awareness of the temporal nature of life and the impermanence of mankind’s endeavors can provide either motivation and inspiration or can cause you frustration.

I write a great deal in the hope that the wisdom I have gathered in my life can make life easier and more successful for others. As I write, I have available the understanding of others that I can draw upon, learn from and even quote, however I know that the passage of time and the evolution of civilization will erode the relevance of my words. No matter how far they eventually reach, they are temporal and will be vulnerable to the passage of time.

This awareness leads me to meditate and ponder on what we, as human beings, can do that is not subject to the ravages of time. It drives me to consider what I can do in my life that can last beyond my life? I know my life will end one day. But I also know on a deep and profound level that I am more than my body.

I am a spiritual being living and learning through a human body and human life experience for a purpose. I am created as a co-creator with the Creator to evolve my consciousness as an integral part of life that is eternal.

This co-creative role with the Creator is not unique to me. It is a miracle and magic of the human experience for all. It is why of all the creations of life on this planet, a human being is a dual being residing in a temporal and material body while imbued with a spark of Divinity that is eternal, the Soul. It is to the immortal part of our being we must look to consider what we can create in life that is eternal.

The lessons we learn in our lives that impact our consciousness are lessons that we learn in our Soul. They are the lessons we bring with us when our Soul draws us to the experience of life again. No life experience is wasted when we learn it’s lesson in our consciousness.

I believe our Soul is eternal, and our consciousness is infinite. When Divine Will and Divine Wisdom determines the evolution of the collective human consciousness need you, both what you have to give and what you need to learn, as a Soul, it is then that a mysterious process of creation begins to create your next life adventure and life experience.

Although this is sometimes called reincarnation, I believe that word is often misunderstood by large parts of humanity. I often refer to it as God’s recycling plan and the Soul’s lesson plan. The eternal nature of the Soul embodies a continuity of consciousness that extends beyond this specific life experience. Ponder on this!

It makes sense that with all there is to be known about the nature of eternal life, merged with physical being that is the human experience, that there is an endless myriad of life situations and circumstances that need to be known for your Soul and eternally evolving consciousness to learn, grow and thrive.

As I have lived this life what I have gained from the Ageless Wisdom of awareness and understanding about the meaning and purpose of life, I have concluded that the most important thing I have learned is to Love.

The Failure To Love

As I look over my life experiences as one tends to do as you age, I have seen so many times that I failed to Love and that breaks my heart.

I have made countless little failures and significant, significant failures. Around those failures are the need to forgive both the person I failed to love fully and to forgive myself.

Selfishness and ego are the primary factors that have caused those failures. Equally persistent are my fears. Often what I have not said is as much to blame as what I have said. It is not always easy to love, or to love another, or to love yourself. This task of learning to love can be challenging and pervasive.

Love Is an Act of My Soul

Love is something I frequently write about and teach about, but I am still open to learning about it.

The most significant thing I have learned is that love is an act of my Soul.

When I have truly loved, selfish desire and the need to be loved disappears.  I am left with a joy that is just knowing the beloved is sufficient. I did not require them to be a certain way or to do a specific thing. Even if I was no longer in their life or they were no longer in mine, the love endures and is eternal. It is free from both conditions and expectations. My desire is only for what is right and good for them.

Touching that level of relationship that I have learned is love made me realize the truth of the phrase “love never ends.” By loving, the temporal nature of life dissolves, and I am transported into the eternal nature of my being, my Soul.

The bond of love is a bond that exists Soul-to-Soul and is eternal. Knowing this and having learned this about love is a great comfort to me when someone I love leaves their body behind. Knowing this also comforts me when life circumstance creates permanent separations from those I have loved and lost track of.

True Love

By love, I refer to a state of consciousness that is beyond emotions, desire, and need that is aware of the essential nature of another and accepts and honors them without conditions or expectations, wanting for them only what supports and enhances their life without consideration of yourself.

This love opens you to the part of your nature that is timeless and eternal. It is from that timeless and eternal aspect of your being, your Soul, that you are able to touch the endless element of another and create a bond that connects you and reconnects you through the continuity of consciousness.

Have you ever connected in this life with some people that you seem to have known before, even before you met them, that you trust before they have proved themselves trustworthy? You may not be able to understand these connections, but you recognize them as the extraordinary experience that they are. These relationships come with a recognition that something distinctive is happening.

The Laws of Karma draw us to those with whom we have forged a bond of love throughout our lives, allowing us to explore and manifest the many ways that love can be expressed and demonstrated throughout life.

So just remind yourself, from a friend to a loved one, love created forms a bond that reconnects and restores us to those we have loved throughout time and space.

This continuity of consciousness and love that evolves and learns and grows and creates in human form for a while and then frees itself of that form is what life is ultimately about. Always strive for love!

These are concepts about a continuity of consciousness that holds your fundamental sense of identity not in your body, your ego or your personality, but rather in the essence of your Divine spark, your Soul. These concepts are different and require expanding your mind and considering lofty concepts of the Spiritual realm and some modification of your understanding about the physical life you see all around you.

It is in learning to love, and most significantly accepting the transcendent and empowering energy of love into your life that your consciousness expands and opens to the enlightened awareness that life is greater than what you can see through your material senses. The whole universe, indeed, heaven and earth are greater and more diverse than you can imagine at this turn of the wheel of life you are experiencing.

I ask that you consider these concepts although they may be completely foreign or mysterious to you and seek within yourself the thrum of recognition that TRUTH always brings and then with a calm mind and an open heart, Ponder On This.

and Power of Your Soul

The Essence of Your Soul is Love by Genevieve Gerard

This article is part of my ongoing Series on Love and The Soul.

Within you, from the first breath you take to the last breath you take, there is a part of you that you may not be aware of.

As you move through your life experiences and adventures you may pay little or no attention to the spark of Divine Light that is known as your Soul.

Or, you could be someone who through either prayer, contemplation or meditation has throughout your life sought the spiritual side of life.

Certainly, prayer, contemplation, and meditation are all practices that can enhance and empower your life.  But to open to the healing Light and the Love and power of your Soul there is a step in your spiritual journey that we as human beings usually find difficult.

That step is surrender.

In our human arrogance as co-creators with the Divine force of Creation, we tend to believe we are the sole masters of our destiny and our life.  And, to some extent that is true, for as a co-creator with the Divine we have been given immense power to influence the way our life emerges through the Universal Law that “energy follows thought.”

But, as powerful as that principle is (and it is very powerful), being human requires a delicate dance between our physical and material nature and our Soul or Spiritual nature.  We as human beings were created as co-creators to live and be in relationship with the Divine (however you define that Divine Source to be.)

The theologian Martin Buber described it in a way that reveals our right relationship with the Divine to be an “I-Thou” relationship.

In that relationship, you are empowered to be emboldened to create and resolve the many problems of the material world while still remaining surrendered to and aligned with Divine Will.

Through that “I-Thou” relationship you are able to be both fully human while remaining respectful and honoring the Divine Spark that distinguishes humanity from all other life on the planet.

You, of all of life and of all of creation, are unique because you were created and endowed with a spark of the creator to live and grow as a bridging being between Spirit and matter.

You are unique because you were created and endowed with a spark of the creator to live and grow as a bridging being between Spirit and matter.  This was not an accident.  This was part of the purpose and plan of evolution that is important to the whole Universe.  How to merge matter with Love.

Your body is built of material substance.  As such, it lives and then it dies.

But you, what truly makes you, you are a spark of the Divine that is eternal, that is your Soul.  Your Soul cannot die.  It is the seat of your consciousness.

Learning to Love happens in your Soul.  Connecting to another and building a bond of Love creates something that is beyond either time or space because Love is created by the merging of the physical and human experience with the eternal and spiritual experience.  This is a part of the great mystery and miracle of life.

That the nature and essence of your Soul is Love means that when you learn to Love there is a surrender of your ego and emotions to what it means to Love.  It is not surprising that learning to Love and what is called “falling in Love” is resisted.

Surrender is not easy, but so sweet and amazing that it makes everything in life worthwhile.  If you have ever loved you know that is true.

Fear, the fear of being hurt, fear of losing yourself, fear of being vulnerable and needing someone are all of the tricks of the mind and emotions that may try to keep you from Loving.  The human, solitary part of you may resist and reject Love.  But your Divine Self, your co-creator self that is your Soul knows the truth.  You were born to Love.

Once you surrender to Love everything changes.  The term “falling in love” is well chosen because in that surrender you don’t know how it will change.

It is only by opening to the joy and adventure of living and loving that you can fully express your potential to live the life of your dreams.

Once you open to Love you also open to the healing power and Light of your Soul.  Love opens you to joy and demonstrates your unity and oneness that enfolds and embraces you.  No matter what sorrow and loss life may bring, you know it is worth it because you have known Love.

Life is a challenge – meet it.
Life is a dream – realize it.
Life is a sacrifice – offer it.
Life is love – enjoy it.

Ponder on Something

Ponder on Something to get Soul insights

This article is part of my ongoing series on Soul Awareness and Soul Awakening.

In the process of gaining more enlightened awareness, you are likely to encounter many who provide their opinions or their wisdom.

Some of what you are exposed to is wonderful as it grants you an ah-ha moment (sometimes after pondering on its meaning multiple times) that opens your eyes or your heart to something that makes your perception easier or clearer.  Unfortunately, some of what you are told is other people’s truth loaded with their fears, their judgments, and are filled with illusion.

As you journey through life’s magnificent adventure it falls to you to choose what you will believe, what teachings you will embrace to guide you.

This choosing is not easy, for you may love and respect the person who espouses rules, guidance, dogma, and doctrine that the still soft whisper of your Soul rejects.

Ultimately, determining what is right, what is the truth, falls to you.

What Does It Mean To Ponder On Something?

You are the one who must choose what will guide your life.  I believe, and I have found in the journey of my life that there is within my heart and mind wisdom from my Soul.  Whenever I have been presented with teaching that my Soul accepts or rejects, I have used a technique of the Ageless Wisdom by following the guidance to “Ponder On This.”

In my experience, there is within your Soul an arbiter of truth.  It is my recommendation that you put every teaching, especially every spiritual teaching to the test of “Pondering.”

The Free Dictionary defines ponder on (something): 
“To give great consideration to something;
to ruminate or think about something very deeply.”

In my experience, as one who has journeyed long on the spiritual path, the wisdom of your Soul is available to you whenever you open your heart and your mind to pondering.  Your Soul will guide you to the truth and insights about all wisdom or it will warn you if it doesn’t feel right for you at this time in your life.

Ultimately, your relationship with your Soul and your relationship with God (however you define God) is completely personal.  I recall the theologian Peter Marshall wrote about this fact, “God has no grandchildren.”  Each of us is charged to enter into our own relationship with the Divine, what theologian Marin Buber described as an “I-Thou relationship”.

The faith of your Father and Mother may have guided their path, and it certainly can have nurtured or fashion your own, but ultimately your relationship with the Divine and the relationship with your own Soul is up to you.

Truth always seems to be recognizable by the Soul.  That is the derivation of the folk wisdom of the phrase ‘the ring of truth’.  I have always, and will always, encourage those who read or hear my words to only accept and incorporate into their own spiritual life that which resonates as truth with you.

Ways To Ponder On Something

The technique of pondering on something presented as a Spiritual truth can be a part of your meditation.  It can be the subject of prayer or simply quiet contemplation.  I personally encourage the practice of daily meditation.

In setting aside time for reflection, prayer or contemplation you open yourself to a relationship with the Divine and a relationship with your own Soul as the arbiter of truth and a source for life guidance.

You can, of course, meditate anytime and anywhere, but there are some techniques that mediators have found helpful in maintaining the practice of mediation.  One such technique is to choose a time of day where you set aside time in your schedule.  For me, the first thing in the morning, just after awakening is a favorite.  I especially love the time that the light is returning to the sky and the sun is rising.  For me, that is a time of great potential and promise so I find it an especially empowered and empowering time in which to meditate.

I also find prayer and mediation just before I go to sleep a powerful way to let go of the stress of the day and surrender to the Divine.  My morning meditations and my before surrendering to sleep prayers form Spiritual support to my life enfolding my life.

The approach to meditation is different from your approach to other times and tasks of your day.  Meditation is the time to release your ego and invite the Soul perspective.  Your Soul perspective is timeless and eternal so it empowers you to be in the present.  It gives you the perspective to release attachment and release your fears.

There is a phrase that I use in my personal life and to lead into each and every one of the guided meditations that I offer you.  It is:

Calm your mind, open your heart, invite the light.

Of course, calming your mind is important because in meditation you strive to reach the wisdom of your Soul. The ceaseless chattering of your mind interferes with your ability to contemplate, meditate or ponder with its busyness and noise.  For many that noise is fueled by fear.

Learning to meditate is the optimum way to transcend, transmute, and transform your life to gain mastery over your fears.  Perhaps that is the greatest and most empowering result of meditation.

Because of how freeing transmuting and transcending your fears can be and how that can support and empower your life to fulfill your Soul purpose I have a guided meditation “I Am Feeling Free” that is a cornerstone to my teachings about meditation.  It allows you to learn how to calm strong emotions and transmute fears and doubts.

When I first discovered this technique, I used it constantly.  Now, many years later I still use it frequently.  Using your Soul connection as a way of living a more free and enlightened perspective is the blessing of meditation that is both life changing and life transforming.

I suggest you “Ponder on this.”

Likewise, meditation opens you to the resource of the wisdom of your Higher Self (your Soul.)  This wisdom can be the arbiter of truth and insight that you can make available to yourself when you use the advice to ponder on this (that you will find in my writings and the writings of the Ancient Wisdom.)

Setting aside a special time to meditate, is a way to empower this technique and your life.  For some, the ritual of a special place in which to meditate is also helpful.  Although neither a special place or a designated time is essential, it is something people have found helpful to encourage and maintain the discipline of the practice of meditation.

I have meditated for over 50 years of my life and can say without any hesitation that it has been the greatest source of strength, peace, and joy in my life.  Over the 50 years, I have tried a wide variety of ways in which to meditate and each of them is valuable.

Although over my life the tools and techniques of meditation have changed as my life has changed, the practice of setting aside a special time for connecting with the Divine and my Soul hasn’t changed.  Meditation opens the portal and supports both prayer and contemplation enriching my life in ways that bring peace, love, and joy into my life. I encourage you to meditate!

Starting To Be Aware of Your Soul

Let Your Soul Light Shine while you read my article

This article is part of my ongoing series on Soul Consciousness.

Throughout the long journey of human evolution and life experience, you have had a Soul.

Through the various highways and byways of life adventures, your Soul has been available to you.  Most often, most times, it is not given even a glimmer of thought.

For most, your physical body and your material needs occupy your primary attention and focus.  Second, to those needs, your emotional needs and desires gain your attention.  Often those attentions are focused on what you want from others, what makes you feel good or a relationship with others that may be unfulfilled, and unattained.

Lost in the maze of these competing needs and desires, you reach out to your mind to understand what life is all about.  Despite the incredible strength of your physical desires and demands you probably know there is more to life than what you can see, touch, taste, touch or smell.

Your emotions provide the distracting roller coaster ride from anger to depression, from a need or fear, all wrapped in the illusion that what you sense physically, or experience emotionally are what is real.

Your ego, the great deceiver, feeds your fears and weaves a web of illusion that relies on feelings of separateness justifying selfishness and self-serving behaviors.

In the midst of these competing attention-grabbing perspectives, you may feel like a juggler at a fair, so busy keeping the different colored balls in the air that you dare not pause for even a moment or it will all come tumbling down.

Be Aware of Your Soul

If you are spiritually inclined or spiritually searching you may sense there is something beyond just “dancing as fast as you can.” Even though to stop may feel dangerous.

You may have even tried meditation but found the relentless chatter of the voice of your competing sense of unmet needs and desires too distracting to understand the benefit that is promised by meditation.

This is important to understand.  Your Soul needs all of the parts of yourself working together for your life to be successful.  These different parts of yourself, when each valued and appreciated for what they offer to your life, integrated and aligned, grant you the empowerment to fulfill and express your life purpose.

Surprisingly, your ego, which many spiritual people demean and revile is a valuable and essential part of your human life expression.  It is a necessary element in fulfilling and expressing your Soul’s work and your Soul’s purpose.

Your mind is not superior to your body and emotions; it is different from your body and emotions.  Each has a part to play in the incredible miracle of life that makes up you.

Your physical body, your appetites, your desires, are equal players in the miracle that makes up who and what you are that makes you a human being.  I believe it is a mistake to demean your physical nature or dismiss the value and importance of your emotions.

Peace of mind may seem as impossible to reach as Peace on Earth but hold onto your Hope. 

The Dual Nature of Your Life

One of the keys to starting to be aware of your Soul is that the miracle of life with which you have been blessed is not limited by the sensations of your six senses.  You need not be controlled by your physical body cravings or emotional desires.

You are a human being.  As a human being, you are God’s incredible creation.  You have the unique opportunity to be a physical, temporal creature, and to at the same time have within you a Spark of Divine Light that connects you with Divine Love.

This dual nature of the human experience has the ability to bring your Soul closer to you.  Your Soul is an integral part of who and what you are as a human being.  Your Soul is available to grant you this dual perspective on your life. 

This dual perspective honors and supports all aspects of your life when you learn to utilize the fullness of your being.  Your ego, your personality, your physical nature, your emotions, your thoughts, and your mind, are all essential elements of your Spiritual nature. 

To be able to create and manifest in the world of matter,
your Soul needs the hands of your physical body.

Remember that each part of your Self is not only valuable, but it is also essential.  To be able to create and manifest in the world of matter, your Soul needs the hands of your physical body.   Your physical body is not of less value or status than your Soul.  It has a different function and purpose than your Soul.

To consciously integrate these diverse aspects of yourself in cooperation and harmony with Divine Purpose and Divine Will is the way the Spiritual person can distinguish and define life.  It is by honoring and respecting but not being driven by each of these physical, emotional and mental aspects and talents you have available as a human being that you are empowered.

It is only the fully functioning creative aspect of a human being, integrated on all levels, body, emotions, mind, ego personality and Soul that can stand next to the Creator as a co-creator. Ponder on this.

That is the role for which you, as a human being, you as the recipient of the Spark of Divine Light that became the human Soul and thus differentiated human life from all other life are meant to experience.  That is the miracle of awareness of your Soul and ultimate integration with your body and mind (personality) that allows you to fulfill the purpose that is in the mind of God.

All of life is called to this divine purpose.  All of Love is expressed in this divine purpose.  Your life is designed to manifest this ultimate divine purpose.

All of the parts of your being and all of the availability of integration of your Soul with your Personality are drawn to this purpose.

How Do I Know If I Am Making Soul Contact?

  1. Awareness of new possibilities emerge in your mind with Hope and Promise.
  2. You feel the profound presence of Love. This enables you to open your heart and love others, and also enfolds you in the sensation of Grace as you realize you are loved unconditionally.
  3. You are embraced within a sense of deep Peace and Oneness.

By consciously joining your Heart, Mind, and Soul with this divine purpose you become an active participant in this miracle of co-creation.

To empower this, I offer you, from the Archives of the Masters, the words of what is known as The Great Invocation, The Invocation For Power and Light Prayer.

Voicing this invocation, especially when said from an awareness of integration of your Soul and Personality, when offered from a sincere heart for the purpose of aligning with the divine plan and purpose of life can have healing and transformative power for all of life.

I encourage you to add this invocation to your spiritual practice and spiritual expression daily and ponder on its greater meaning.

This article is part of my ongoing series on Soul Awakening.

When your lower-self (your personality [body, emotions, and mind]) merges with your higher-self (your Soul which is the essential part of you into which your Divine Spark is embedded) you become empowered by your whole-self.

In your natural life journey, there is a development process that goes on throughout your life between your lower-self (personality) and your higher-self (Soul.)

This developmental process occurs naturally but for you may be unconscious.  When you invite the integrative process of your Soul to merge with your personality, you bring into your consciousness a greater awareness and empowerment of your life’s purpose.

Most likely, inviting your Soul to be an active player in your life is not something you learned to do in Sunday School.  After countless hours in churches and listening to countless hours of homilies and sermons I can say the Soul is rarely mentioned.  Even the Bible does not specifically teach you how to activate and engage with your Soul.

Although throughout your life, your Soul may have opened to you its presence, your conscious awareness of your Soul may have well been hit or miss.  You may have felt your Soul most present in times of heart-wrenching sorrow when a loved one has died.  And, that pain and compassion may have driven you to your knees and opened your mind and heart to the Presence of your Soul, although it’s doubtful that you were consciously aware that your Soul was the comforter.

I believe your Soul may have given you insight through your intuition that may have saved you or a friend from harm’s way.

I believe that your Soul is willing to step in at times of crisis as an act of Love or Grace, but to really provide the power and majesty of which it is capable it requires a relationship.

Most likely you have been raised from infancy to focus on your five material senses as the way you experience the world.  Any insights you may have experienced beyond the reality of those physical senses is usually discouraged by parents, adults and those who are not seeing or feeling what you might be experiencing.  This limitation is factual across most cultures and is especially true in the Western world.

This emphasis on the physical and material world has led to a long span of evolution that denies awareness of the spiritual realm.  This tendency has limited the education and knowledge of the Soul to mystics such as Hafiz, King David (in the Psalms) or Osho. Without this spiritual education, you are left with a part of you that is missing.

You may have unconsciously longed for contact from and connection with your Soul, while steadfastly ignoring or denying the reality of anything spiritual.  You may have turned to religion to find out about your Soul, but religion, unfortunately, is currently usually not the source for learning how to develop a relationship with your Soul.

All religions are true, but none are literal.

The core belief of these spiritual writings of King David, Hafiz, Osho, and other spiritual writers you might cherish is that within every human heart is the longing for connection and relationship with your Soul.

No matter which religions or religious beliefs each of these inspired writers serve, their words call to you because the Soul, your Soul, is calling to be part of you through their wise words.

How To Be Whole

If you listen to the yearning of your heart, you will find a longing to love and be loved.  Your Soul is the portal of Divine Love.  When you bring your Soul into active relationship with your personality, body, emotions, and mind, you start a process of integration that brings joy and wisdom to your life. This Soul integration with your personality makes you whole.

The Soul is universal and beyond any dogma or religion.  Connecting with your Soul, and engaging in the process of merging your Soul with your lower-self “personality” is also beyond any dogma or doctrine.  It is universal and the next step in the spiritual journey of humanity.

Almost everybody agrees that you have a Soul.  When touched, that awareness opens you to the true nature of the Divine and the unifying principle of Love that transcends religious bigotry or dogma disagreements.

When you consciously open your life to increased Soul awareness and Soul control, you are engaging in what I have referred to as Soul/Personality merging.  Something I have called “The Greatest Merger and Acquisition Project Ever.”  This is when you can live a full life that is Soul infused.

Advantages of Connecting With Your Soul

Connecting with your Soul connects you with your internal source for Divine Wisdom and Divine Guidance.  Your Soul is the teacher that always knows and understands what you need at every phase and step of your life.  Your Soul as your teacher and guide aligns you with the Divine, however, you understand the Divine to be.

PHYSICALLY

To bring your Soul Light into your physical body facilitates healing on many levels.  For some, it is resolution and relief of pain.  It can also manifest as a sense of deep and profound relaxation.  When aligned with your Soul, it might be that you realize that your breath is more accessible, more profound and each breath you breathe is more fulfilling.

EMOTIONALLY

To bring your Soul Light into your emotional body frees you to forgive, let go of deep and troubling resentments.  It fills you with a profound peace and calm that releases closely held negative emotions, such as fear and anger.  As your emotional body fills with Soul Light, there is also an activation of Love, deep in your heart.  That Love brings you awareness of unconditional love and Divine Love.

MENTALLY

Inviting your Soul Light into your mind opens you to insight and ignites your intuition.  It also activates more creative thinking and has a dynamic impact on problem-solving in your life.

It is because of all of these powerful advantages that with every guided meditation that I create I invite you into the meditative state by asking you to “Calm Your Mind,” “Open Your Heart,” and “Invite the Light of your Soul.”

Your “personality” is the integrator of those three significant energies of the human experience.   When you consciously and with an intention (supported by meditation) affirm these embedded suggestions you are taking a significant step forward in your human evolution experience.

You are embarking on an adventure to become a new kind of human being, a human being who is aware of and in touch with their Divine Spark and their co-creatorship with God. When your lower-self merges with your higher-self you become empowered by your whole-self.

This awareness begins a quest not only to live life but live it more fully.  The adventures on this quest may bring you in touch with much that is unknown to you as you start down this path.  That is true of any great quest or adventure.  There is much your Soul knows and wishes to teach you about your true nature that is beyond the current knowledge of humans at this time.

Merging your personality with your Soul opens your life to new possibilities.  It is a magnificent adventure upon which humanity is only now embarking.  You can be the explorer of this merged awareness.

I invite you to join me in this exploration into the full power of what it means to be a human being, a being that is a part animal man but is also a creative living evolving spark of the Divine.  I invite you to Be and Become All You Are Meant to Be.

This article is a continuation of my ongoing series on Soul Awakening.

Many of the solutions to life’s challenges are simple.  That does not make them easy.

Free Will is an essential part of the human experience.

I believe the personality, the “lower self,” must make the conscious choice to surrender to Divine Will, the “higher self” or Soul.  Without that conscious choice, the choice to choose Love, the choice to put your Soul in control cannot give you the full power of your Soul.

It is with your decision to bring your Soul into a conscious partnership that you are empowered to work with the Angels and activate spirit to elevate the world of matter, that real enlightenment can happen.

By the very word, enlightenment requires bringing Light into the substance of matter.  This is the destiny of humanity.

The merging of your Soul, with your completely human body, emotions, personality, and mind is what I have called the “Greatest Merger and Acquisition” ever.

It was to fulfill this blending of spirit and matter, light and dark; personal will surrendered to Divine Will that the Creator designed the human adventure. Something magical and mystical happens when Love (the nature of your Soul) is infused into matter (the substance of the world.)

It was to bring Divine Love into manifestation into the world of matter that the struggle of life exists.

Matter, by its very nature, is devoid of Love.  Only through humanity learning to Love and surrendering to Divine Love can in this dual consciousness of Soul and Personality can the denseness of matter be infused by Love, can the denseness of matter be inspired by Soul Light.

This is the fuel of miracles and the purpose of life.  Not just to learn how to Love, but to let Love so thoroughly into your life that the very atomic matter of your being, your heart, merges with your mind into your Soul, whose nature is Love. Ponder on this.

Learning To Love

Your human adventure offers you the opportunity to learn and grow until Love is clearly the answer.  Surrendering to Love is your path to joy.  When surrendering to Love becomes your personal Free Will you automatically align with Divine Will.

Today, I invite you to choose Divine Love.  By making that choice, you have activated your free will on a path that aligns you with the teachings and wisdom of your Soul.  When you choose Divine Love, you are allowing your personality access to transforming power.

When you choose Divine Love, you become an agent of Divine Will here on planet earth.

I understand, although simple, it is far from easy to surrender to Divine Love and Divine Will.  But don’t worry, the resistance you have to this kind of surrender is what makes you human.

Each and every time you are able to remain open to Divine Love and aligned with and surrendered to Divine Will you are taking a giant step forward in human evolution.

The fact that you are reading this article today speaks volumes to your openness to making a difference in your life.

The longing you have to be able to remain in a state of Love and aligned with Divine Will speaks to the presence of your Soul.  The nature of your Soul is Love.  It is with Love you can open to the wonder and wisdom of your Soul.

This walk in life with a human body, buffeted with needs and desires is a new kind of human being, a new kind of consciousness that is just emerging in the human experience.  To let your Soul be in control, while still walking in the world of sorrows is a whole new kind of experience in human life.

When you walk through life as the powerful and amazing being that you indeed are, you are thinning the veil between heaven and earth.  You are demonstrating the consciousness of Love.

Bringing Your Soul Into Control

The integration of your Soul with your personality is the result of lifetimes of lessons of love and karma.  The release of personal will to Divine Will is a lesson learned long ago by the Angels.

Coming from a Soul perspective shifts awareness of the illusions, glamor’s and desires of the world of matter to bring an understanding of what is true and real.

Each and every time you put your Soul in control you are fulfilling your destiny as the spark of Divine Light that you were created to be.

When you put your Soul in control, you automatically align with Love.  You activate your co-creator potential that came from the Creator with the breath of life.

Your whole perspective changes when you are integrating your Soul with your personality.  Harmlessness becomes effortless.

Kindness and compassion flow from your heart as you are moved by the sorrow and suffering of others.  You are aware of a unity of Spirit that makes clear your Oneness with all of Life.

Humanities next significant step forward is to master this dual perspective, this dual consciousness, and then bring it into the world.

To merge with your Soul, to restrain any selfishness you may be tempted by, is a significant step forward in the consciousness of humanity.  It is the evolution of a new kind of human being.  One who is in relationship and communion with the Divine.

Imagine, for a moment if you will, just how this world would be different if your Soul were in control.  Imagine if government and society were to follow the Law of Divine Love.  Imagine if the guidelines for the laws were crafted and passed with the principle of the Highest Good For All.

That would undoubtedly usher in a “Heaven on Earth.”  That would fulfill the prophecies of old of Peace on Earth, a time when the Lion could lie down with the Lamb.  These predictions and dreams have fueled all world religions because they are the plan in the mind of the Creator that humanity was created to fulfill.

It takes only a moment of both self-awareness and life awareness to see how far humanity is from manifesting that vision that has been foretold.  Yet, it is by learning to Love, by bringing your Soul into control and by merging your personal will into Divine Will that the best chance for humanity manifests.

To help you on this path I have created an affirmation that you can say as often as you like.

 

Love & Light Are My Lanterns Affirmation

 

Today, I call upon my Guardian Angels, my Spiritual Inner Plane Guides, to provide help and assistance in my life that I may fulfill my life destiny and purpose to manifest God’s Will for my highest good and the highest good of all.

I surrender to and invoke the wisdom of my Soul as I place my Soul in control.

I do this to learn the lessons of Divine Love and to teach others the transforming empowerment of love and light.

As I sacrifice my little will and align my life and purpose with Divine Will, I assert and affirm that: “Purpose Itself Am I.”

To manifest this awareness in my physical reality, it is necessary to allow: “Two Minds to Unite.”

And to let “The Highest Light Control.”

To do this, I must “See the Greatest Light.”

This blending of my Soul with my lower self occurs as a simultaneous act of invocation and evocation.  In so doing I open my life to the fulfillment and furtherance of a plan that is held in the mind of God.

I acknowledge that the Saints, the Hierarchy and those who have served humanity to bring about the manifestation of this Divine Plan will guide and direct me as I put aside my personal lower will.

As I remain aligned and open to Divine Will, I realize that my joy, my bliss, and my fulfillment are found in that merger.

Each and every time that I am able to restrain my personal needs and desires, I am learning to Love, and I am strengthened and supported by resources more amazing and vast than I can imagine.

Love & Light are my lanterns.  Through Divine Love, I can align in full faith and confidence knowing that Divine Will has the Divine Wisdom of a purpose and plan that is beyond what I can see from the vision of my individuated lower self.  As I merge with that Divine Will and Wisdom, I relax and release all of the needs that have burdened my life.

Through my open connection to my Soul, the heavenly hosts are available to provide the healing that those I encounter in my life so desperately need.

Through my merger with Divine Will for the Highest Good of All, I am assured that I will do no harm through the unintended consequences of my personal ego or desire nature.

I walk this path of dual consciousness and awareness with vigilance, and thus I stand.  I am a point of light within a greater light, and thus I stand.  I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of cosmic love, and thus I stand.  And standing thus enlightens the way for others.

This article is part of my ongoing series on Soul Awakening. 

Your Soul, also often referred to as your Higher Self, is an integral part of who you are and what you are.

You probably believe you have a Soul, yet, your Soul is probably something which you give very little or no thought or attention.

Perhaps, as a child, you said a nighttime prayer as you memorized the words of a famous children’s prayer “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.”  

But now, as an adult, the concept of having a Soul may not cross your mind.

If you are a participant of A.A. (Alcoholics Anonymous) or N.A. (Narcotics Anonymous), you may have wondered about step 2 of turning your life over to a Higher Power.

You may even have relegated the concept of your Soul to only matter as the eternal part of you that only matters when you die.  Then you may imagine your Soul may go to heaven, or return to God.

Welcome To The Beauty Of Your Soul

Today, I would like to make you aware of your Soul as a dynamic, active and vital part of your life.  A part of your life that can make you more healthy, joyful, and empowered.

I would like to introduce you to your Soul, not as something you tuck away to call upon as your life is fading away.  I would like to introduce you to your Soul as a source of wisdom, a portal to divine energy that can impact and influence every day of your life starting today.

I would like to bring you into awareness of a tool that can help you every day in your life.  I would like to introduce you to your Higher Self and encourage you to begin a lifelong adventure of integration and awareness that will change your life for the better, that will ultimately awaken your life.

Your Soul is more than simply the part of you that is eternal and therefore grants you access to eternal life when your material body fails and fades.

Your Soul is designed to be an active part of the wholeness of your being.  It exists to be a resource engaged in your life adventure, a companion on the quest for love, for success and happiness.

Empowerment

The reason that A.A. and N.A. teach that it is important to turn your life over to a Higher Power is that by so doing you are empowered.  You are empowered by the part of you that has always been there, and will always be there to help and support you, your own Soul. You just need to awaken it.

Your Soul is not separate from God; however, you define God to be, because your Soul is the spark of Divine Light that was granted to you as you became an individuated life.

It is the part of your anatomy that maintains a connection that is eternal.  No matter what you do.  No matter how many mistakes you make.  No matter if you stumble or fall, that connection cannot be severed.

Your Soul, like God, always works for good.  It has the power to heal you once you have learned whatever life lessons dis-ease may have entered your life to teach you.  From the perspective of eternity and the Divine, your life experience is designed to teach and empower you to reach higher states of consciousness.

Major Life Lessons

The Ageless Wisdom speaks of these life lessons regarding your Soul giving you the power and strength to overcome your lower urges driven by your material nature, to greater Soul control as four major life lessons.

In each of these four major life challenges, it is your Soul that stands by to help and support you in transcending the lure or temptation of your lower (animal) self.

These four major life lessons can be broken down into:

  1. Overcome the Desires of the Flesh – the physical part of your nature. Among these are the needs and urges that are sometimes called the seven deadly sins.  They include Lust, Gluttony, Avarice or Greed, Sloth or Laziness, Wrath, Envy or Pride.  I would like to re-frame these seven human challenges as the issues you are faced with in life.

Although these are sometimes called sins, I consider that they are simply the result of selfish and self-centered identification.  They are tendencies and mistakes that you make when you see yourself as separate from others and separate from God.

  1. Managing Emotions – Inherent in life lessons are also learning to manage emotions by learning to transmute, transform and transcend fear, anger, jealousy, and Ego.

     

  2. Mastering the Thoughts of Your Mind – Overcoming worries, fears, negative self-talk and limiting beliefs.

     

  3. Surrendering to Your Spiritual Nature – Using your Soul to integrate and master your physical, emotional and mental full lower natures (ego.)

Because these are the urges and desires of your physical and emotional nature, your Soul is ready, willing and able to help you gain mastery over these aspects of life so you can learn what it is to express Love.

The Nature of Your Soul is Love

Learning to Love is what your life adventure is about.  If you break down the seven deadly sins, they can all be summarized as not expressing the highest form of Love.

As learning how to Love is the business of life, so teaching you how to Love and opening you to Love is the business of the Soul in your life.

Your Soul is available to help you transmute, transform and transcend any and all aspects of your lower-self that keep you separated from the highest forms of love.  Among these lower-aspects are addictions to alcohol, food, sex, cigarettes or drugs.  The power of your Soul to empower you to conquer these urges is why all of the Anonymous programs encourage step 2 in the A.A. model.

Connecting with your Soul and surrendering your addiction to the healing power of your Soul gives you the strength and ability to conquer physical desires and cravings.

Likewise, being guided by your Soul frees you from the emotional attachments of desire that led the Buddha to acknowledge that life was suffering and that attachment was the cause of the suffering.  Attachment is not love, although it can easily get confused with Love.

Love is life’s greatest gift.  Love is life’s greatest blessing.  Love is eternal.  It is perhaps the one thing we can create as material beings that open us to our eternal and Divine nature.

Your Soul can guide you to learning to Love, not the “sticky and needy” love of attachment, but rather the freeing and inspiring Love of the Spirit.  It is that which is eternal, empowering and life transforming.

Your Soul is a resource to empower you to be all that you can be.  Through Soul Awakening, you are open to who you truly are as a “child of God” who is also the “Son of Man (Human).”  It is your Soul that keeps you connected with God, and with the whole heavenly realm of angelic beings.  It is your Soul that is your internal and external source of truth and wisdom.

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

By activating and engaging in a conscious awakening of your Soul, you activate peace, love, and joy in your life.  By surrendering to the wisdom of your Soul in times of trouble and confusion, temptation or terror, you are opening to living life abundantly.

I leave you today with a little Mantram of Unification I have adapted that you may find helpful to affirm out loud daily:

I let my Soul control my outer form in my life and all events so it may bring to Light the Love that underlies the happenings of time.

 

Let wisdom come with insight.  Let the future stand revealed.  Let inner wisdom demonstrate and any outer illusions be gone.  Let Love prevail in my life.

Remember Who You Truly Are

Perhaps, one of the most powerful and profound messages I have ever received in meditation was the instruction to, “Remember Who You Truly Are.”

This phrase not only impacted my spiritual life at the time I first received this instruction but has returned to my ponderings throughout the years.

Today, I share it with you, hoping that within your meditations and ponderings you will find insight, strength, and wisdom.

When you focus on this question I encourage you to have your spiritual journal with you.  Recording the ideas you receive helps you gain greater depth and understandings of flashes of awareness.

You might initially respond to this Koan by thinking it is silly.  You could dismiss it by giving simplistic answers.  A Koan is an exercise of finding a deeper truth.  I believe to benefit from the use of a Koan, you must look beyond the surface into the heart of the question.  In that way, the truth is revealed.

As you ponder the question, consider if you will, all of the roles and titles you have carried through your life.  Most have been descriptions of what you do, not who you are.

Once you move through the identities of what roles you have played in your life, what is left?

Are you larger than the jobs you have done or the roles you played in other’s lives?

At the center of your being, you have the answer;
you know who you are and you know what you want.
          – Lao Tzu

A Meditation To Explore Who You Truly Are

Take a deep breath as you calm your mind, open your heart and invite the Light.

Sit quietly and listen in the silence to the promptings of your Soul.  How does it answer the question, “Who Am I, Truly?”

Let your heart experience whatever comes to you.  Let your mind be free.  Suspend judgment.

Open to the wisdom of your Soul.  Invite it to reveal to you awareness you may have never perceived before.

There is no wrong answer.  Just open your heart and mind to the promptings of your Soul.

Listen, in the silence with your whole being as you ponder “Who am I, truly?”

Consider the thoughts, concepts, and feelings that drift into your being.  In the silence, you may find paths of consciousness that call to you.

Let them flow freely, opening understandings that are new to you.  You may wish to pause and record these impressions in your journal so you can return to them in another time, in another meditation.

You may experience an expanded sense of being.  Let your awareness grow to the edges of your consciousness.  Let your perception be limitless.

Taking a deep and relaxing breath, release with your exhale any stress you may be holding in your body.  That stress is not a part of who you truly are, so you can let it go.

Then draw in another deep and relaxing breath.  As you release your breath, you can release your fears.  They are not a part of who you truly are.

Now, as you breathe in another deep and relaxing breath realize you can, with your exhale, release any limiting beliefs and thought-forms you may be holding.  They too are not part of who you truly are.

Return to the silence, as you realize these burdens of stress, fears and limiting beliefs you have carried are not a part of your true self, your essential self.  They have not served you, and you have no need to ever gather them to you again.

Return to the question you are pondering; who am I truly if I am not my stresses, my fears or the beliefs that have limited me?

Allow the peace of this experience to permeate your essence.  As you breathe in, breathe in that peace and calm.  Be aware that you are breathing in peace and calm that comes from the very essence of yourself.

Let the energy in your heart expand into that peace.  Let the Love of your Soul fill your heart as you let yourself Love and appreciate who you are.

In the calm and the silence of this moment let yourself receive the grace of loving and accepting yourself.

In the pause of remembering who you truly are let the grace of self-forgiveness fill your heart and mind.

You are more than the total of the roles you have played and the deeds you have done.  You are more than your emotions and beliefs.  Within you, there is an essential Self.  Open your awareness to that Self.

In the silence, in the calm afterglow of this meditation receive the Love that your Soul has for you.  Receive the grace that is your birthright as a spark of the Divine Light that inhabits us all.

Record your thoughts, feelings, and impressions in your journal at this time.  Remember that writing about what you have experienced helps you ground and solidify that experience.

Be Open To Your Soul

Take a moment, as you calm your mind, open your heart and invite the light of your Soul, to ponder on what you have received in response to the question who am I truly.

Expand your awareness to receive the flow of unlimited love and compassion that is the nature of your Soul.

As, that Love fills your heart and illumines your mind, realize and celebrate that your Soul is an integral essence of who you are.

Yes, you have a human and material body, but you are much more than your body.

Certainly, you have emotions, but they are only experiences along the adventure of life.  They are not who you truly are.

Amazingly, you have a mind, capable of great thoughts and expansions of consciousness.  Within that mind is the power of imagining and perceiving that which is beyond what is material into an essence which is Spirit.

As a Soul, you are a co-creator with the Divine of the nature and purpose of your life.  Yet, for your Soul to work in the world and influence matter, it needs the actions of your physical body. 

 

It requires the understanding and cooperation of others that comes from the practice of compassion and the demonstration of Love that only you as a dual nature of Spirit/Soul and Matter/Body, can offer to the world.

Your personality and ego are part of a team that brings the Spirit into manifestation in the physical universe.  This merger of your Soul with the material is focused on bringing Love into the world of matter.

Love is the essential nature of the Soul and the nature of the Divine.  YOU, as a human being are the incredible miracle of life created to bridge those worlds, to reveal that truth, to learn and teach the nature of Love.

For this great task was humanity created.  For this great service to the whole universe are you here on Planet Earth, learning, growing and striving to transform matter with Love.

This integration of your Soul (whose nature is Love united with Divine Purpose and Will) with your physical body, emotions mind and personality is a divine purpose in life that has a purpose beyond what you can know and see.

Being, and becoming who you truly are, and remembering and revealing your Divine nature while in human form is the pathway that all of humanity must travel to fulfill the Divine Plan and destiny for humanity.

You are an adventurer.  You are a trailblazer. You are a child of God and a spark of Spirit merging divine source into matter as you learn to express and share Love.

In all of creation, the human being is a unique and special being.  Be who you are.  Celebrate this miracle of life you have been granted.  Accept the love and guidance of your Soul as you master your physical, emotional and mental nature and integrate your personality with your Soul.

As your consciousness returns to the activities and requirements of your life, realize that this meditation of remembering can empower you.

You can return to this meditation and this pondering as often as you like.  Each experience can deepen and reveal ever more of the mystery of remembering who you truly are.

Miracles are always possible; that was the message that came through in my morning meditation.

As I went deeper into that thought and that promise, I realized that miracles are not only possible; they are your birthright.

There are so many times in life’s adventure that you may look at your life situation and see what you need and then think; “it is going to take a miracle.”  So I say, “make a miracle happen.”

As I write those words, I can feel a wave of judgment and disapproval from many people.  That judgment says; miracles are the providence of God, not mankind.  However, as I ponder and consider miracles; I would say true miracles are about teamwork.  God, in the many ways in which God moves life is certainly in charge of miracles.

Aligning With Divine Will

Any miracle you pray for and invoke acknowledges the importance of aligning with Divine Will.  Aligning with Divine Will is essential in two crucial ways.   First, only when you align with Divine Will are you assured that the Highest Good of All is the result of the creation of a miracle. Second, aligning with Divine Will is your protection for unintended consequences.

None of us can, from our human perspective, see all of the possible results and ramifications of a miracle.  The implications of every shift in energy are vast.  Surrendering your desire to Divine Will reminds you that the right order and right relationship of asking for a miracle are that God is in charge.

That said, God has imbued us as human beings with a spark of Divine Light and Divine essence.  That is not a gift given lightly.  It is an essential part of who you are.  You have within you that spark of Divine Light as the nature of your Soul.

The Role of Your Soul

Your Soul is always aware of the importance of surrender to Divine Will.  When you want or need a miracle it is your Soul that knows how to help you receive that blessing.  It is from your Soul that the perspective of the detachment of selfish will and desire can come to invoke the Highest Good for all.

When you put your Soul in charge and release your little will and the desires and attachments of your personality, a shift takes place that makes miracles possible.  Putting your Soul in charge not only aligns you with Divine Will, but it also opens you to the realm of Angels to help.

Miracles happen by the teamwork and cooperation of three essential elements; alignment with Divine Will, the surrender of your will, and the collaboration of the Angels.  All of this is the natural result of letting your Soul be in control.

Now, knowing human nature as I do, and understanding the difficulty of the personality to surrender to the Soul, you might say that in itself is a miracle.  Certainly, wrestling control from your ego and personal will is a challenging part of creating a miracle or allowing a miracle to be manifest in your life.

It is important to understand that miracles do not work outside of science and the laws of nature.  They may be outside of what you know and understand about the laws of the universe and nature.  Even God works within the laws of nature.

Recently Pope Francis made this point when he announced about creation, ”God is not a magician waving a magic wand.” 

Humanity’s understanding of the laws of science is continually expanding.  The study of physics is regularly revealing new ideas.  The field of Noetic Science is proving many of the old truths of the Ageless Wisdom that have guided spiritual aspirants for years, such as “energy follows thought,” a universal principle on which I frequently write.

When you expand your awareness to your Soul and put your Soul in control, you open your heart and your mind to the realm of Angels and invite them to help in the creation of a miracle in your life.

An essential part of the nature of your Soul and an essential aspect of Angelic Presence is alignment with Divine Will.  Both your Soul and all the Angels align with Divine Love, which is the underlying force of Divine Will.

Miracles must always take place within the combined energies of Divine Will and Divine Love.

You may not know or consciously understand the subtle manipulation of universal laws and principles that need to be applied to create a miracle.  It is not necessary or even important that you do so.  Faith is sufficient when considering the manifestation of a miracle.

Your Co-Creator Relationship With God

Miracles are the place where you, your Soul and God all meet in your co-creatorship relationship with God.  God created you to live in relationship with Him.

That relationship is a sacred covenant the theologian Martin Buber called an “I-Thou relationship.”  In Buber’s view, all of our relationships bring us ultimately into relationship with God, who is the Eternal Thou.

The relationship between God and humanity is an incredible miracle.  Your relationship is a mystical dynamic between you, (as a son or daughter of mankind), and God, as your creator.

A part of that relationship is a responsibility that you have as a child of God who is miraculous, also a child of humanity.  God put you here on planet earth to help manifest a plan of evolution.  That plan requires your active and creative participation.

Your creative part of that plan is as a human and material being and comes complete with all of the faults and failures you have as a human being.  However, you are imbued with a Soul.  In all of creation, it is only a human being who has this higher level dual nature.  It is manifesting from that dual nature that a miracle is created.  It is with this merger of your Soul and your material life that you can take on the role and responsibility as a co-creator with God.

For this to work and not go horribly array, it is necessary for you to merge and integrate your Soul with your personality.

A part of a powerful mantra that encapsulates this truth of Soul-Personality integration is the Mantram of Unification:

Let the Soul control the outer form, and life and all events and bring to Light the Love that underlies the happenings of the time.
               – Alice Bailey (Djwal Khul  Discipleship in the New Age, Vol. II)

Now take a deep breath.  Calm your mind, open your heart, invite the Light.

As you read this phrase from the Mantram of Unification, consider how it may be used to create miracles in your life.  Ponder on this!

Then, call upon your Angels for help.  They too are part of God’s great plan and have dedicated their life to helping humanity achieve that plan.

As others have, you can ask for a miracle through prayer.  Remembering that surrendering your personal Will to the Divine Will and the Wisdom of the Angelic Kingdom and Wisdom of the Divine is a protection from unintended consequences that can harm you or others.

 

My Prayer for Asking for a Miracle

Father God, Divine Mother, My Angelic Guardians, and Guides, I need help.  It seems that this situation in life, ____________________________________________ needs miraculous intervention.

Please guide and direct me to do what I can do as a human being to resolve this situation.  Please help from your exalted level to create a miracle, if this is beyond my ability to solve.

I ask in full faith and assurance that miracles are possible and in full faith and surrender to the wisdom of Divine Will for the highest good of all.

For this blessing and this miracle, I give thanks.

Amen, so be it and it is so.

When an individual, or even more powerfully and profoundly a group, call upon the Divine for healing or Divine intervention with a world problem, the prayers and invocations create an activation of energy to which all Divine beings respond.

Remember, miracles are always possible.  You can always pray for and ask for a miracle or a healing.  They are your birthright, and you can manifest them as a part of your great adventure as a Soul, having a great adventure in your human experience.  You are a beloved child of God.  The Angels surround you and are available to you to help you do anything that aligns with the greater plan and Divine Will.

This article is a continuation of my ongoing series on Soul Consciousness, blended with my ongoing series on Love, and the Angels.

This blending of my Soul with the Angels occurs as a simultaneous act of invocation and evocation.  In so doing I open my life to the fulfillment and furtherance of a great plan that is held in the mind of God.  You can do the same by reading this next affirmational section aloud.

SOUL INTEGRATION AFFIRMATION

I acknowledge that the Saints, the Hierarchy and those who have served humanity to bring about the manifestation of this Divine Plan, guide and direct me as I put aside my personal will.

As I remain aligned and surrender to Divine Will, I realize that my joy, my bliss, and my fulfillment are found in that surrender.

Each and every time that I can harness even the smallest glimpse of Divine Will, I learn to Love, and I am continuously strengthened and supported by whatever resources I need.

Today, I call upon my Spiritual Inner Plane Guides, my Angels, and the Christ, to provide help and assistance in my life that I may fulfill my life destiny and purpose to manifest God’s Will for my Highest Good and the Highest Good of All.

I surrender to and invoke the wisdom of my Soul as I place my Soul in control.  I do this to learn the lessons of Love and to teach others the transforming empowerment of Love.

As I sacrifice my little will and align my life and purpose with Divine Will, I assert and affirm that: “Purpose Itself Am I.”

To manifest this awareness in my physical reality: “Two Minds Unite.”

The Light of the Soul Descends

And to let “The Highest Light Control.”


To do this, I must “See the Greatest Light.”


As this Soul Light descends, it permeates my entire body as I ponder these words of power.


Love is my lantern!  Through Love, I can align in full faith and confidence knowing that Divine Will and Wisdom has a purpose and plan that is beyond what I can see from the vision of my individuated self.  As I surrender to that Divine Will and Wisdom, I can relax and release all of the mundane needs that have burdened my life.

Through my open connection to my Soul, the Heavenly Hosts are available to provide the healing that those I encounter in my life so desperately need.  Through my surrender to Divine Will for the Highest Good of All, I am assured that I will do no harm through the unintended consequences of my personal ego or desire nature.

To walk this path of dual consciousness and awareness requires vigilance.

This walk in life with a human body, buffeted with needs and desires is a new kind of human being, a new kind of Soul consciousness that is just emerging in the human experience.  To let your Soul be in control, while still walking in the world of sorrows is a whole new kind of experience in human life.

The human personality, id, and ego sometimes are not easily surrendered to Divine Will.  Human glamor’s and illusions spill forth despite best efforts to remain aware of the promptings of your Soul and the guidance that Love provides.

This journey requires Love, and Love changes everything.

Each and every time you can remain open to Divine Love and aligned with and surrendered to Divine Will, you are taking a giant step forward in human evolution.

Each and every time you put your Soul in control you are fulfilling your destiny as the spark of Divine Light that you were created to be.

When you put your Soul in control, you automatically align with Love.  You activate your co-creator potential that came from the Creator with the Breath of Life.

When you walk through life as the powerful and amazing being that you truly are, you are thinning the veil between heaven and earth.

You are demonstrating the consciousness of Love.  The Angels come to you to support and comfort you.

Your whole perspective changes when you are integrating your Soul with your personality.  Harmlessness becomes effortless.

Kindness and compassion flow from your heart as you are moved by the sorrow and suffering of others.  You are aware of a unity of Spirit that makes clear your Oneness with all of Life.

SOUL-PERSONALITY INTEGRATION

The resistance you have to surrender and integrate your personality with your Soul is what makes you human.  Although simple, it is far from easy to surrender to Divine Love and Divine Will.

The longing you have to be able to remain in a state of Love and aligned with Divine Will speaks to the Presence of your Soul.  The nature of your Soul is Love.  It is with Love you can open to the wonder and wisdom of your Soul. Ponder on this.

Let my soul smile through my heart
and my heart smile through my eyes.

The integration of your Soul with your personality is the result of lifetimes of lessons of love and karma.  The surrender of personal Will to Divine Will is a lesson learned long ago on the angelic realm and much easier when the illusions, glamor’s, and desires of the world of matter are not factors.

Humanities next significant step forward is to master this dual perspective, this dual consciousness, and then bring it into the world.  This is an important step forward in the consciousness of humanity.  Is is the evolution of a new kind of human being.  One who is in relationship and communion with the Divine.

Imagine, for a moment if you will, just how this world would be different if Love were in control.  Imagine, if governments and societies followed the Law of Love.  Imagine, if the guidelines for the laws were crafted and passed with the principle of the Highest Good of All.

That would undoubtedly usher in a “Heaven on Earth.”  That would fulfill the prophecies of old of “Peace on Earth,” a time when the lion could lie down with the lamb.  These prophecies and dreams have fueled all world religions because they are the plan in the mind of the Creator that humanity was created to fulfill.

It takes only a moment of both self-awareness and life awareness to see how far humanity is from manifesting that vision that has been foretold.  It is by learning to Love, by bringing you Soul into control and by surrendering your personal Will to Divine Will that the best chance for humanity manifests.

Many of the solutions to life’s challenges are simple.  That does not make them easy.  Free Will is an essential part of the human experience.  The personality, the “lower self” must make the conscious choice to surrender to Divine Will.  Without that conscious choice, the choice to choose Love, the choice to put your Soul in control and work with the Angels and the realm of Spirit to harness the world of matter, real enlightenment cannot happen.

By the very word, enlightenment requires bringing Light into the substance of matter.  This is the destiny of humanity.

The merging of your Soul, with your completely human body, emotions, personality, and mind is what I have called the “Greatest Merger and Acquisition” ever.

It was to fulfill this blending of Spirit and Matter, Light and Dark, personal Will surrendered to Divine Will, that the human adventure was created.  It was to bring Divine Love into manifestation in this world of matter that the struggle of life exists.

Matter, by its very nature, is devoid of Love.  Only through humanity learning to Love and surrendering to Love can this dual consciousness of Soul and Personality through the denseness of matter be infused by Love, and the denseness of matter be inspired by Light.

This is the fuel of miracles and the purpose of life.  Not just to learn how to Love, but to let Love so fully into your life that the very atomic matter of your being, your heart, lets your mind merge with your Soul, whose nature is Love.

Your human adventure offers you the opportunity to learn and grow until Love is clearly the answer.  Surrendering to Love is your path to joy.  When surrendering to Love becomes your personal Free Will you automatically align with Divine Will.

When you choose Love,
you are allowing your personality access to
the transforming power of your Soul.

Today, I invite you to choose Love and reach for your Soul Consciousness.  By making that choice, you have activated your Free Will on a path that brings you into alignment with the teachings and wisdom of your Soul.

When you choose Love, you become an agent of Divine Will here on planet Earth.  Each time you choose to give Love, you are winning a victory.  Each time you win, access to your Soul consciousness becomes cumulatively easier.  Your Soul becomes ever more in control until the Soul, in control, can bring to Light the Love that underlies the happening of the times.  Soul personality integration is the destiny and fulfillment of humanity.

In the long and rocky road of human evolution, there are times in history when it becomes necessary to take a stand.  I am saying this not as a political statement, but a spiritual declaration.

It is an inconvenient truth that there is right and there is wrong.  There is good, and there is evil.  These are not only social and political truths, but they are also spiritual truths.  These concepts are across all religions and are also revealed in the books of guidance followed by every path in life.

What I have always found to be both significant and fascinating is the agreement and commonality of the essence of these teachings about truth.  Across all of the divides of dogma and denomination that can cause argument and disagreement, the essential truth of right and wrong stands forth.  That common thread of understanding and wisdom demonstrates time and again in the human experience that we are all more alike than different.

Just as there is within each human heart and mind a certain resonance that is felt when truth is expressed, so there is an archetypal understanding of what is fair, right or just.  Even if your try to ignore it, that “felt sense” of what is right is known to you.

I believe that inner sense of knowing comes from your Soul and it cannot be completely drowned out.  No matter how much you try to bargain away this sense of inner knowing to convince yourself to go along to get along, deep in your heart and deep in your Soul, you know the truth.

This feeling of knowing comes from the spark of Divinity that separates a human being from the animal kingdom.  This spark of Divinity is what is recognized and celebrated around the world when in many cultures people greet one another with “Namaste.”  The Divine spark in me recognizes and honors the Divine spark in you.

You Have A Choice

Of course, over the vast history of human evolution men and women have done unspeakable horror to one another.  People have made choices and committed atrocities that are unimaginable.  You need only to look around the world to see that evil can at times win in the world.

In fact, there is a famous quote that speaks to this dilemma:

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph 
is for good men to do nothing.

This quote has been attributed to Edmond Burke, however; it has also been attributed to, as diverse political voices as, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Regan.  I find the difficulty with trying to find who originally made this quote makes my point. There is within all of us an inner voice, the voice of the Soul that knows this truth and issues a warning to everyone.

This quote, this inner voice of advice, calls from the depth of your Soul that there are times when it is important to make a stand.  At times the only right action is to take action.

Our Fathers Took A Stand

The United States forefathers understood the importance of taking a stand when Thomas Jefferson penned the immortal words:

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary. . .

That stand that they took so long ago changed the world and influenced the progress and evolution of all of human life.

The framers of the United States Constitution understood that the subtle creative energy in the universe moves more powerfully when invoked by what you are for:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…

The values in the Declaration of Independence that our founders put forth are there to remain as a guidepost for the American people and by example, for the world.   The values of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are now woven into the American Dream.

In those simple principles lie the seeds of The Bill of Rights and all the freedoms we as a people have enjoyed for the last 240 years.

However, throughout the history of our people there have been many times and many ways that ordinary citizens have had to stand up and be counted to make that vision a reality.  There are many times that to take a stand is the call to action from your Soul.  There are times that it is necessary to stand up for what that inner voice that defines right vs. wrong, good vs. evil, truth vs. lies.

In those times, you are called to be a beacon of Light in the world.  You are called to consider what you believe, and what is important to you.

These are not light and idle considerations.  The lessons of history reveal the unspeakable horrors that can be unleashed on the world when “good men do nothing.”

It is inevitable that when you take a stand for good in the world that you stimulate and empower others to do the same.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

What Do You Stand For?

What are the principles of Right Relationship for which it is important to take a stand?  What are the guidelines of right and wrong that will make a difference?  What can you do to make life better for you and the world?  These are questions worthy of pondering and taking action on!

The Ageless Wisdom guides Right Human Relationship with principles that are timeless and broad and yet possible to judge every human interaction.  They are Harmlessness and Right Speech.

A simple rule that has helped human beings make these moral decisions was probably learned in our youth but is still an excellent moral compass. It is called the “Golden Rule.”

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  – The Golden Rule.

Familiarity may have made it easy to disregard the wisdom of this rule.  Certainly, selfishness, greed, and self-interest can make it seem archaic and irrelevant.  This simple guideline for moral behavior, as ancient as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, still serves as a moral compass. This simple ethical consideration still works because the inner self that is the voice of your Soul that recognizes and understands right and wrong knows good from evil and can acknowledge the essential rightness of this simple rule.

Take a moment to consider what the world would be like if that simple life rule guided more of human behavior.

Take a moment to consider all of the issues you can choose to take a stand on that violate the Golden Rule.

The world seems to have lost its moral compass of following the advice that this simple rule advises.  Concepts such as honor, standing by your word, and the all to frequent excuse, “it is just business” seems to have sacrificed the concepts of fair play for the greed of a few.

But right is still right and wrong is still wrong no matter how many people do what is wrong.  Deep in your heart you know this and more importantly, deep in your Soul you know this to be true.

Time To Take A Stand

Today, I encourage you to consider your life, your values, and your relationships and consider who you are by the test of what you do.  I invite you to re-affirm the values you hold dear and decide today to stand up for what you believe is right and good in the world.

I am a point of Light within the greater Light.

I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of Love Divine,

I am a spark of sacrificial fire, focused within the fiery Will of God.

Be Open To Love

– Love is Where Two Worlds Meet

This post is a part of my ongoing series on Love.

We live in a material world.  Life is impacted by what can be seen, touched, heard, smelled or tasted.  These five senses are of vital importance as they impact on your understanding of the world.

The strength of these five senses is so powerful that it is easy to believe that unless you perceive something with your five senses, it is not real.  That is a mistake!

The truth is that we live in the material world as citizens of two worlds.  Neither world reflects the wholeness of whom and what we are as human beings.

A human being is a miraculous blend of a physical being with a spiritual being.  Any attempt to be only one part of this equation is doomed to failure.  Indeed to require every part of life to be able to be perceived through your five senses, or to believe that only what you can see and touch is real, defies life’s experience.

The successful blending of your awareness as both a physical being and a spiritual being is one of the great mysteries of life. It is easy to err on one side or the other based on the situations and circumstances of your life.

Indeed, answering the questions of the dual aspects of human nature has fueled the ponderings of philosophers and theologians since the dawn of time.  Likewise, it has fueled many of my questions about life.

This dual nature of human experience led me to summarize this dichotomy in this way on Goodreads.com:

You are a miracle of Divine Light, created by Divine Love and infused with Divine Wisdom to be a Soul having a human experience, right here and right now on planet earth.

It is the blending of these two worlds, the material world and the spiritual world through which much of the mystery of life exists.  That is because it is challenging to understand how what is eternal can co-exist so intertwined with what is temporal.

Recently, my challenge to understand this mystery has led me to understand that the bridge between these two worlds and these two realities is Love. Anyone who has every loved has crossed this bridge.

One way this merging of the two worlds happens is when two individuals are initially drawn together by the urges and expression of physical desire.  Out of their romance, they begin to realize that something more is present.  That more is love.

Be Open To Love

In opening your heart and your mind to love you begin to experience something that is bigger than desire and subsequent gratification of physical expression.  Often, that drift across the barrier between these worlds is so subtle that you don’t even realize you have gone from the world of matter to the realm of your Soul, which is the realm of Love.

This transition is most often called “falling in love.”

Love requires a merging of Souls.  That fusion takes you out of the world of the temporal and physical into the world of the eternal.

When love is created, there is a subtle energetic shift.  This change is often tangible and may be a surprise to the one who has fallen in love.

The realization that love has been created out of a relationship changes everything.  It changes the nature of friendship, and it changes the depth of romance.  When it happens in the throes of passion and ecstasy, those who are aware of subtle energies can tell you that they felt the shift from “just sex” to love.

That transition can be frightening.  Love is powerful.  Not everyone wants Love.  Some people fear Love.  Free will enables an individual to run from Love and reject Love.

For some, just that touch across the bridge is so different that it is unknown and terrifying, and they choose to reject it.  For others, it opens them to a lifetime of bliss and joy.

Of course, sex and passion are only one way to cross that bridge between the temporal and the eternal, from the world of matter to the world of Soul.  It is one of the most amazing parts of life.

Poets praise that portal to Love.  The real miracle is not the passion or the sex, but that you, from your selfish, physical personality have been able to cross that bridge, a bridge from the limitations of matter into the eternal realm of unconditional Love.

In pondering this miracle, I am amazed at the wisdom of the Divine in using Love to create that bridge between these two realities and the two worlds.

As I mentioned, romantic and sexual love is not the only pathway on the bridge of Love.  True friendship is also a path that can take you across that bridge.

Friendship is a gentler and less threatening way to move into the experience of Love.  And it is one of the three ways the Ancient Greeks described Love.  Friendship is a portal to Love.

Love, no matter whether erotic or the Love shared by family and friends, is an essential part of the lessons of life.

There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.

Love serves as a bridge from your personality to your Soul.  The essential nature of your Soul is Love.  When you love someone, a bond between Souls is created that transcends beyond time and space.

The giving of love is an education in itself.

In the university of life, I have come to understand that learning to love is the most life transforming lesson.  When you Love, you merge the world of matter, which is temporary and fleeting with the realm of the Soul.

This is a major transition in consciousness.  To be consciously connected with Love opens the doors of awareness to joy.  Love is the most powerful healing force we can touch with our mind and heart. Ponder on this!

Meditate on Love.  Open your heart to Love.  Let your awareness be infused with Love and you will find your life filled with a joy that knows no boundaries and peace that passes understanding.

Love has the power to guide your life as it opens you to your Higher Self (your Soul). 

The deepest ethical questions in life are best answered by considering “How Love is best served in this situation?”

The unconditional nature of Love allows you to forgive, even what seems unforgivable.

By loving you have crossed from the world or sorrows and the veil of tears to an awareness of the bliss of the world of the Soul and the Peace that passes understanding.  These are the hallmarks of the world of Spirit (the Soul.)

Just remember, Love is the bridge where two worlds meet and your life is opened to greater happiness and joy.  I recommend that you dare to learn the lessons of Love.  I suggest you open your heart to the love that is the essential nature of your Soul and let yourself love freely, unconditionally and spontaneously.

Share the radiance of your Love with everyone you meet.  Be a source and a force for Love in the world until you can “Give Love, Live Love and Be Love.”

Dare To Be of Service To The World

To dare to be the amazing being that you are, aware of all that you were created to be takes courage.

You are a spark of Divine Light created in the image of a God of Love.  This is amazing.  This gives you unlimited possibilities.

The power of standing forth as a being of dynamic grace is often misunderstood.

Standing in your Spiritual Light and your Spiritual power is a blessing to the world.

The world may fail to appreciate or understand the radiance that is you.  This is a burden that has long been shared by those who have strived to demonstrate God’s Love and God’s grace through their lives.  The challenge to be true to yourself and true to your purpose in life is an awesome spiritual journey.  It may not be the easy path but it leads to fulfillment and great joy.

To be true to yourself, true to your purpose in life may sometimes be a lonely path.  As a beacon of Light, you stand out in the world.  As one who loves and serves others, you may at times feel vulnerable and different.  You may be misunderstood.  People may take advantage of your kindness.  You may be called upon to forgive much that seems unforgivable.  This has been true for those who have come before you and will most likely be true for those who are guided by your life.  The path of service may not be an easy path.

At times, you may feel alone.  It may help you to know that you are not alone.  Thankfully, there are across the world, others who have opened to their Divine Light and Divine nature.  When you join the Light of your Soul with theirs and join your service with them, you can become a dynamic force for good and change in the world.  Know that joining with others empowers you.  Your Light and your purpose are magnified.

It only takes a moment of looking around for you to see the need for Love to redeem the world and for Soul Light to infuse the hearts and minds of humanity.  As easy as it is for you to see, so it is for others, who like you walk the earth for the higher purpose of helping and serving mankind.  To be a beacon of Love in the world is a high calling.  One you honor by standing firm in your purpose.

The Bible and the spiritual writings since the dawn of time have recorded the stories of men and woman who have demonstrated and surrendered to God’s Will to serve as instruments of God’s Love and Grace for his creation.   The work of bringing humanity into right relationship with God has gone on since the dawn of time and continues today.  The need for right relations remains of vital importance today.

To join humanity in bringing right relationship with God you must dare to let the Light of your Soul shine forth.  A light hidden under a bushel cannot dispel the darkness.  Yet it is important to remember that a single candle can dispel the darkness.  Light is by its very nature always more powerful than the darkness.  As you share your Light you serve the greater good.

The calling of your Soul to be of service to your fellow man identifies you.  The way of service is not the way of the world but it is the portal to spiritual wisdom.  It is the way to let your Light shine out for the entire world to see. 

To listen to the promptings of your Soul is fulfilling your life’s purpose by bringing your love and Light to your fellow man. This is also a portal to true joy and fulfillment.

There is comfort in knowing that you are not alone.  When you join with others to deliver God’s Love and demonstrate God’s grace you can magnify the radiance and be of support to one another.  Joining together in spiritual community with purpose is empowering for everyone.

Your power to influence the world and to make the world a better place is enhanced and magnified when you join with others in groups.  Ponder on this!

To stand forth in prayer and meditation is a way of being the change you wish to see in the world. You can, through prayer or meditation, imagine your Soul connected in the living Light with all who are a part of what is known in the Ageless Wisdom as the New Group of World Servers.  You can join with the efforts of the many who work for good in the world. 

It is through service to others that you can best demonstrate your love.  It is in service to others that God’s love becomes a tangible and living thing.

Your Light is a service to the world.  A service you can enhance by consciously joining with the efforts of others like you.

You can join with others in service; your intention is sufficient to connect your light with their Light.

In a spiritual life, service is a portal to true joy.  Helping others is a labor of love.  When through your life you are able to be a blessing to others you further open the doors to receive greater blessings and greater joy in your own life.

Your personal happiness and success are enhanced when you respond to the calling of your Soul.  To those who know their purpose to be emissaries of God’s Love and Light there is a gratification that is felt as an expansion of the Love and Light deep within your heart.  Amazingly, this expansion of Love and Light is its own reward.

To focus your meditations on the purpose of serving your fellow man I will share one of my very favorite affirmations with you. This mantram can be used to help you declare your intention and join you energetically with others.

It is especially powerful when said together in a group meditation.  When you say this affirmation in meditation and with intention you will be a dynamic part in the service to your fellow man.

Voicing this discipleship affirmation you are joined with others who also work for good in the world.  As one of my favorite mantrams I use it regularly in my own personal meditations.  I love the power of the assertion of purpose in the words “And thus we stand.”  It helps me remember that I am not alone and yet focuses my intention toward service.  I hope you find it a blessing in your life.

Say with your whole heart as a Soul the following ancient mantram:
