Why Let Worry Waste Your Time?

Why Let Worry Waste Your Time?

sign that says stop worrying

Whether or not you choose to spend a precious moment of your life worrying is a choice. That same moment you spent worrying could be spent differently. It could be spent praying or meditating. It could be spent hoping or affirming. It could be spent appreciating what is happening in the actual moment you are experiencing.

Ultimately worrying is a waste of your time. It does not solve the problem(s) you are worried about. It destroys the experience of “right now” by too much rumination on “what if?”

I have heard it said that worrying is like praying for what you don’t want. If you consider the principle that “energy follows thought” and the workings of the Law of Attraction, this is certainly true.

If you review and consider the events and circumstances of your life honestly, through the eyes of a detached observer, you cannot help but come to the conclusion that much of what you have spent your time worrying about never happened. And, in those rare instances where it did, the worrying that preceded the event did not help you prepare for it or cope with it at all.

The worrying did not make you stronger in the face of the challenge or sorrow. It merely uses the resources and strength you could have used to handle the actual situation. In fact, if you are brutally honest with yourself, the time you spend worrying is a waste of time.

Worrying is not a pleasant experience… so I ask again, “Why waste your time worrying?” Sufficient to the day are the problems of that day. Rather, spend your precious moments, your precious energy and time dealing with the challenges that your real-life experience gives you today.

Release your worries. Take a deep breath and choose to deal with your life challenges as they arrive.

By living your life in the moment, as it unfolds in the now you find that there is really nothing you cannot handle, nothing you cannot bear. It is only with the fear that it will always be this way that something becomes unbearable. In the moment, when you hold an experience in the NOW your perspective is different.

By choosing to be in the moment, to be in the NOW, you will have amazing strength and resilience. In the moment is where your power resides, claim it, embrace it and express it. Choose not to waste your precious gift of life with worry.

This I have learned. This I believe.

The Blessing of Love on all that you do.

Namaste,

Genevieve Gerard
