Tuesday the 13th I led a short meditation to help a group focus on wealth. I have decided to make this available for free to anyone who is interested in manifesting greater abundance in their life. The free offering is in two parts. One is a twelve-minute daily meditation for abundance. Included in this meditation is an invocation for magnetic attraction. How Being in the Now Heals Your Past

Being in the Now

There is great freedom in being in the now. In the present moment that is, right now, any burden in life is scaled down in perspective. It is only when an event or circumstance is outside of the now, outside of the moment that we become overwhelmed. In the now, we always have the strength to bear whatever life requires. The thoughts that things will always be the way they are now adds a burden we were never meant to bear. Most importantly we do not have to bear that pain. If we choose we can, by shifting our consciousness and our perspective to the now, remove that pain as if it never existed, because, it doesn’t exist in the now. It is only a past or future thought form projection that we have placed a meaning on. You can heal your life, give yourself a fresh perspective.

How To… Why To… Meditate Workshop.

The Power of Intention

Within your mind and within your personal will, lies the power of intention.  Intention is a key to transforming your life.  Most of us have clearly and powerfully expressed a desire, only to find unexpected opportunities open up before us to bring us exactly what we desired.  It may come through an unexpected random meeting with someone.  It could come, as a thought to re-connect with an old friend, who knows a person who has a need for someone to do the exact work you want.  It could manifest as making a “wrong turn” to find a sale, on exactly the item you need but thought out of reach.  The details are unimportant.  

What is important is that when these strange events of synchronicity occur in your life, you recognize them as the power of intention at work.  By understanding this power and beginning to harness it, by disciplining your mind to use it to benefit your life and the lives of others, you start to understand a very important life principle that energy follows thought, and “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Recognition of Truth

There is within us awareness, a recognition that we have spontaneously when we hear the truth.  The truth resonates deep within us as a sense of knowing that is beyond understanding or belief.  We can with the incredible facility of our minds and rigidity of belief reframe and deny a truth if it does not fit within our preconceived definitions of the world, but that flash of truth is felt in the moment, even if it is quickly discarded or denied.  We can choose to deny that ring that truth brings within the many judgments that the mind can provide in quicksilver response, but not before that sense of truth is felt, even if never considered again.  Or we can choose to pay attention, open our minds and hearts and ponder upon the significance of that flash of awareness that can open the door to deeper perception of the adventure we call life.

That You Meditate, is More Important than How

Meditation has existed for many thousands of years.  Over that vast stretch of time many styles and many techniques have developed, from the most disciplined path, to the most natural and spontaneous experience that could come to you in a moment of quiet reflection.  At different times in your life, one technique may call to you. 

After meditating for over 40 years, I have come to understand that it is not important how you meditate.  It could be the simple focus of mindfulness meditation, the discipline of Zen Buddhist meditation or awareness meditations that are incorporated into the activities of daily life.  It could also be any of the myriad of schools and techniques that fill the bookstores and the internet.  Any form of meditation can give you the benefits of meditation, from physical relaxation and better health, to the expanded consciousness that leads to enlightenment. 

No step that you take on the path to the Higher Self is ever wasted; every step you take brings you closer to fulfilling your full potential in life.

The Lesson of Breath

The Lesson of Breath

 As I have been writing and developing new meditations I cannot help but notice that the breath, simply the act of breathing in and breathing out, gives us a very valuable demonstration about life.  Without thought, without fear of lack our breath knows exactly what we need to take from the world around us and exactly what we need to let go of and release.  We cannot hold onto the breath and we cannot fail to let go of and release the breath. 

If we ponder upon the lesson this teaches us about life we can begin to trust that what we truly need is available for us without fear.  We can notice that we only need to take what we need and can use.  And, we can understand that only by releasing and letting go are we able to receive.  All of these little understandings are a part of the gift of each breath if we take the time to notice.

God’s in His Heaven

God’s in His Heaven

So often as the morning begins, as the beauty of the many colors of a cloud-filled sky join the emerging light of the day, I think of this phrase from Robert Browning’s poem Pippa Passes “God’s in his Heaven – All’s right with the world.”

The peace and the confidence and joy that using these words as an affirmation brings, sets the day with a perspective and attitude of anticipation.  It also brings forth the gratitude for the little blessings of life.

Each day gives us a new promise, a new opportunity to enjoy the many blessings that surround us, down to the snails on the thorn.  If we only look around us with awareness of the many simple gifts that life presents we can find so much to celebrate and enjoy.
