-The Dynamic Power of Defining Yourself

I Am More text image with sun, moon, stars, by Genevieve Gerard

You are the most important person you will talk to today.

And, most of that talk is self-talk.

Ironically the most compelling aspect of your self-talk comes in the form of how you define yourself, both in your conversations with others, but most importantly to yourself, in your mind.

Your thoughts are powerful. They direct the creative influence of your mind. Please don’t waste them. Instead, I invite you to use them and to actively put them to work for your benefit on your behalf.

To empower your thoughts more efficiently, there are a few things essential to an understanding of the subtle energy of the world and how the process of creating and manifesting works.

In recent times, the ways that thoughts can influence matter has become known as “The Law of Attraction.”

Now, the Law of Attraction is not new, but it has, in recent times, gained great publicity. Still, despite being the subject of much explanation and discussion for many, it remains a concept that may seem magical and mysterious.

There are many levels and many layers to Universal Laws like the Law of Attraction and the active principle that “Energy Follows Thought” that may make it a challenge to use in a practical application in your life. Since this is a subject that has fascinated me for a long time, you will find several links to previous articles and blogs on the topic at the end of this post.

I invite you to consider and explore these posts that I mentioned above. Then I encourage you to take ideas from these posts, of the various techniques and tools that are available, to experiment with them in your life to enhance and empower your life. They may stimulate your thoughts to fly out to provide direction for the creation of your life experiences.

I believe your thoughts are the impetus for creating opportunities and also for creating challenges.

How You Define Yourself

However, where you can observe this manifestation of the principle that “energy follows thought” and the results of what you invoke with The Law of Attraction are most clearly revealed in how you define yourself.

The issue of self-definition is a vital place to focus your conscious attention to make sure that who you are becoming as a result of your thinking is who you want to become.

When we focus our attention on ourselves, we evaluate and compare our current behavior to our internal standards and values. We become self-conscious as objective evaluators of ourselves.
            – Psychologists Shelley Duval and Robert Wicklund’s theory of self-awareness

Bruce Lee also stated, “As you think, so shall you become.

Now, this is not new wisdom. It is a teaching as old as the Bible. It is expressed in the book of Proverbs with the phrase, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Somehow lately it seems to be a new concept. Perhaps it is a truth that each new generation must discover it for themselves.

Perhaps it may appear to be just too simple to be true. While it may sound simple, as you begin to attempt to use this wisdom to transform and empower your life, even if it is simple does not mean it is easy.

The nature of the rambling thoughts of self-criticism and fear make it valuable to be aware of what you are creating with the power of your mind.
            – Genevieve Gerard

Your mind is such a mighty force that it has stored every definition of yourself you have ever set up in its “creative database.” That also includes ways in which other people have defined you. The seemingly simple statements, even when delivered playfully or as a part of teasing, go into the “database” of self-definition and may get replayed in your mind as a part of your identity.

This factor is why with children who are in the process of self-identification, it is crucial not to be demeaning when you correct them — even overheard descriptions of them (rather than just an annoying behavior) is damaging. Words have power!

In times of success or achievement, those definitions of self that are positive tend to be replaced, and likewise, in times of mistakes or failures, the negative descriptions get replayed as a part of the mind’s uncontrolled and undisciplined “chatter.” Built-up criticism and judgment may become damaging when replayed in the minds “chatter.”

Unfortunately, the computer of the mind follows the same rule as modern technology “garbage in garbage out.” Therefore, to have a positive impact on your life, you must become conscious of how you are defining yourself. Fortunately, you can use this same axiom to positively empower your life, “constructive in and confident out.”

Self-Talk

Consider your thoughts to be like a blueprint for what you are choosing to build into being in your life. By consciously planning what you desire, you enhance the ability to create who you are becoming with care and consideration. This potent force is especially significant when you are using a statement that defines who and what you are.

So, one way to use this information to improve and transform your life is to consciously consider the words you use to describe who you are. In so doing, you are welding the positive “I Am” power.

Before you define yourself by making an “I Am” statement, take a brief pause to consider whether what you are saying with your thoughts or your words is congruent with who and what you are striving to become.

If it is, you can reinforce your ability to be and become all that you are meant to be by adding the thought energy of intention and affirmation to that “I Am” statement. Defining yourself in this way helps empower you to manifest all of the success you dream of achieving.

This technique unlocks the power of affirmations. I Am statements have a significant influence in defining what you are becoming.

This self-affirmation has proven to be a useful offset to self-criticism. When we hear a voice saying we’re inferior or deficient, psychologist Leon Seltzer of Del Mar, California recommends that we try to see the evidence that refutes it in our mind’s eye. Affirmations can revise the negative messages we hear—or think we hear—from the voices of authority figures in our lives unable to show that they believed in us.

Use story editing to stop reverting to that negative cycle over and over again,” advises Timothy Wilson, a social psychologist at the University of Virginia and the author of Redirect: The Surprising New Science of Psychological Change. A story edit offers a way to reframe or revise a negative experience.

If what you are thinking is not who and what you want to be, stop the thought immediately and reframe and re-define who you are. Edit the idea and consciously create and confirm the definition of yourself that you desire.

Once you are sure, you have crafted the statement to reflect who you are striving to become, add to it your intention and your affirmation. If this is a newer and better definition of who you are, write it down as an affirmation and then work it into your conversations with others as many time as you can naturally over the next few hours and then the next few days until it becomes a part of your word patterns and your “story.”

If it is a change that is easy for you, this will be enough. However, if you think you need an extra added power or boost, then affirm the “I Am” statement while looking at yourself in a mirror, and anytime throughout your day that you catch a reflection of yourself.

Make sure each of your “I Am” statements are positive and reflect who you desire to be or become. The more of a challenge the reframed new definition of you is, the more that it will benefit from repetition and affirmation. In this way, practice helps the dynamic process of manifestation to fulfill the potential of the thought.

This technique can be tried in many aspects of your life. Approach it with an attitude of joyful playfulness and experimentation to see how many ways you can reframe and transform your life. This technique can have broad implications on self-mastery and self-confidence.

I would love to hear about how you have used this method to create a better life.

  • Feel at a distance from God
  • Often quick to get angry

Only 10 percent with anxiety receive effective help

Unfortunately, they also state that only 10% of those suffering from anxiety receive effective help.

I believe that the issue on which you may have focused anxiety is actually focused on an illusion around which you have woven sufficient energy through your fears that it can feel very real.

It is important to realize that feeling something is real does not make it realIt is important to recognize this when you want to conquer your anxiety.

If you sit quietly and examine your thoughts and feelings that are fueling your anxiety, you will most likely realize that it is a lot of projections that begin by imagining “what if ____ happens?”

That awareness begins to unravel the substance of the anxiety to allow you to be free from it when you realize that whatever you are imagining has not happened, and may not likely happen.

You must remember that your fears and your anxiety are a projection of your mind, mixed in with your imagination, not only about what “could happen” but often what you imagine others could be thinking or feeling.

None of your imaginings are real or true.

Realizing that your anxiety and the thoughts and emotions that are creating and fueling your anxiety are neither real or the truth, is a first step in relieving yourself from the tyranny of anxiety with which you are torturing yourself.

It might sound strange but a way to relieve your anxiety is to understand the principles of how the Universe works.

Unfortunately, when you suffer from anxiety, you are using a Universal Law that “Energy Follows Thought.” That principle, that Law, is a gift and when rightly used can empower you to stand as a co-creator with the Creator and manifest the life of your dreams.

The Universal Law that energy follows thought becomes distorted and destructive when you let your fears use this dynamic creative energy to create a web and maze that begins to take on the substance of matter to lock you into your thoughts and mind.

By using the creative power of your imagination, you can, unfortunately, feed your fears and fundamental distrust of life until your anxiety is so painful and intense that it can control your life.  However, you can use the same principle to free yourself from your anxiety.

The Law that energy follows thought is real manifests from an aspect of the Law of Attraction.  However, when you are trapped in the emotional experience of anxiety, you have turned that power against yourself.

Anxiety is the result of creating in your emotional body and mind, all of the horrors and nightmares you can imagine, and being an intelligent and creative being, you can imagine a lot.

The Keys To Free Yourself From Anxiety

The question with which you are faced with if you suffer from anxiety is how to free yourself from that trap?  The most powerful tool that you can wield when experiencing anxiety is the TRUTH.

Discriminating between what is real vs. what is created by fear, worry and anxiety is the key to freeing you from being trapped by the tyranny of your emotions and your mind.

Asking yourself for a reality check is a dynamic tool for relieving anxiety.  Is this real?  Did it happen? Or, am I just projecting and imagining what could happen?

The power of your thought is to create, however; you can have control over your thoughts.

Even though the creative power of your mind can be incredible, the illusion can feel so real that you can feel powerless to release it.  I believe because your anxiety is created by emotional and astral energy, it cannot manifest in the world of matter.

The key words in this thought are that it “feels real.”  Just because something feels real does not make it real.  So one of the steps in relieving anxiety is to begin to be aware that the feeling is an illusion.  That does not mean that doesn’t seem real, but appearing real and being real is different.

The good news for you, if you suffer from anxiety, is that you have proved that you have a compelling mental body.  When you learn to use that force for you rather than against yourself you can use it activate your power to manifest your dreams and desires.

To release yourself from the tangled web of emotions and fears that have kept you trapped inside the web of anxiety you have woven, you need to understand how to use your creative energy.

Once you have allowed your fears to form and to become so much substance it produces anxiety, it is critical to shift and engage in the process of transmutation, transformation and ultimately transcendence.

That power is yours.  That ability is uniquely yours.

The truth is that there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world; it’s your thoughts that create these false beliefs. You can’t package stress, touch it, or see it. There are only people engaged in stressful thinking.
                          – Wayne Dyer

You can relieve and release your feelings of anxiety by applying a test of truth to them.

Doing that works with the laws of energy that respect the fact that whereas you cannot destroy energy, you can change its form.

When you change its form, you can relieve your anxiety and release your fears.  Once you have done this, you can use the creative talent that you honed to perfection in creating anxiety to create the life you desire.

You can use the same Universal Law and power that you turned against yourself to gain mastery of your life.

Relieving anxiety and transmuting, transforming and transcending the emotion of fear that underlies and is interwoven within it requires a conscious choice.

To help you with that choice I have created a short simple visualization exercise to start to relieve and release your anxiety.

Relieve and Release Your Anxiety Visualization

Click play icon below to listen to me reading this visualization to you (under 2 minutes)..

Sit quietly and begin to breathe deeply.

Fill your lungs from the bottom up, first relaxing your stomach muscles.  As you take more and more air into your lungs, let your chest expand and fill.

Then let the air expand into the upper part of your lungs even raising your shoulders a bit topping off your breath.

Imagine a flock of white birds before you.  These are healing birds, here to take your anxiety away.

As you breathe out give your breath to this healing flock of birds.  Let them absorb your anxieties and fears until you have no more air in your lungs to offer them.

Now, imagine, visualize, see them flying away.  They are flying higher and higher, further and further away from you until they are out of sight, and out of mind.

Now let your breath return to normal.  You may be aware of how much more peaceful and calm you feel, right now.

You can do this little exercise whenever you need to release your anxiety.

Tools to Release Your Fears and Anxieties

There is, in the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom a meditation technique that works to calm strong emotions and transmute fears and doubts.

It is a technique that I used in my own spiritual life hundreds of times a day to gain mastery over my fears and anxieties.

I Am Feeling Free Meditation by Genevieve Gerard

It is such a powerful and life-transforming technique that I created two guided meditations to teach it. 1.) A shorter and simpler version called “I Am Feeling Free” and 2.) A longer and more detailed version called “Feeling Free.”

These meditations, once you learn how to move the energy with intention, can be done in less than a minute.

They can also be done as you move through your daily life to release your fears and anxieties as soon as you become aware that you are becoming trapped by them.  What is great is that no one else can see you or know you are using them.  It puts you in control of your feelings.

You move the energy with the power of your mind, your intention, your will, your breath and the engagement of your Higher Self.

You are, with these brief meditations able to exercise your control in your life, over your mind and emotions.  It is your power to use.

Becoming free of your anxiety, freeing your life from the tyranny of fear will change your life.

Unweaving the web of anxiety that you have built and created takes using these tools that have been handed down by those who guided humanity on the path of enlightened awareness for eons.

These meditative tools are now available to help you master your fears and anxieties so you can be and become all that you are meant to be, that you can live the life of your dreams and fulfill your Soul’s purpose in this life.

Know that meditation can be the portal to your Soul (your Higher Self).  You can use the power of your Soul to free you from your anxiety and fears and to empower you to use your mind as a force for good in your life and good in the world.

Isn’t today the day you would like to begin the process of unraveling the illusions and fears that have kept you trapped within your anxieties?  There is no better time than Right NOW to Take Control of your life.

Your intention to transform your life and heal your life is an excellent place to start.

Your fears do not serve or help you.  And, indeed, your anxieties do not serve you or empower you.

It is your choice to make, but it is both possible and advantageous for you to choose mastery over this life challenge.

Today is the day, and now is the moment that you can choose to live your life freeing yourself, being and becoming your whole self.

How to Harness the Power of Your Mind

How to Harness the Power of Your Mind

Read How to Harness the Power of Your Mind blog post by Genevieve Gerard

Your mind is a powerful tool.

As with any tool, it depends on how efficiently you use it.

Learning to use the great and amazing power of your thoughts to manifest your life’s purpose and fulfill your goals is a primary reason that many people explore the subject of consciousness.

By harnessing the power of your mind, you are transforming your life to align with your dreams and goals.  You are actively co-creating your life in a dynamic way.

It takes only a minute of sitting quietly and observing what you are thinking to realize that your thoughts are quicksilver.  The nature of thought is so multidimensional and diverse that it is easy to be unaware and unconscious of what you are thinking.

If the principle that energy follows thought is true and our thoughts create our reality as the “Law of Attraction” claims, we all have some work we need to do if we want to use our mind effectively and efficiently.

Gaining mastery over the mind, mainly controlling the free flow and often negative input of edited thoughts is a challenge.  In your observation of the nature of your unfocused and uncontrolled thoughts, you may notice how much of your thoughts reflect what you fear.  That is not a judgment of you, but a simple observation of the nature of what spiritual teachers have for centuries or longer referred to as the monkey mind.”

The practice of meditation provides a variety of techniques to help you harness the power of your mind and quiet the mindless chatter of the monkey mind.”  Different ways work differently for different people and at different times.  You could certainly ignore the input from the world of meditation and teachings about consciousness were it not for the understanding of the mechanics of the “Law of Attraction” and the principle that “energy follows thought.”

Your thoughts have power, indeed the power to create your reality and can help by working for you, or can, unfortunately, work against you.  It is a powerful motivator to explore how these subtle principles and laws work.  These revelations about the power of your thoughts are not new.  Way back in ancient biblical times the book of Proverbs stated, “As a man thinketh, so shall he be.”

Since that time, there have been a variety of teachers and preachers, business leaders and thought leaders who have both validated and expanded on the great wisdom in Proverbs.  In writing this Wisdom Wednesday Blog, I realize that I could fill the whole post with books and resources of those who praise the truth about the power of your mind.  I have provided some links that I believe are the best at explaining or teaching about this important issue and help you explore these concepts from a variety of teachers and approaches.

I also want to provide you with a gift of one of my very favorite books about the mind, Napoleon Hill’s life changing book “Think and Grow Rich.”  This is a complimentary Adobe PDF of the entire book that you can download and ponder on.  I hope this gift empowers you to help achieve your dreams.

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
       – Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich

Manifesting your dreams and fulfilling your life’s purpose is an important reason to use the tools and techniques of meditation to harness the power of your mind and make it work for your benefit in your life.  To align you mind with your higher purpose and your Higher Self allows you to integrate what is spiritual with what is happening and manifesting in your life.

Reprogram Your Mind with Dr. Wayne Dyer

How to Harness the Power

My primary goal in this blog today is to discuss this ancient wisdom from a perspective of a technique you can use and activate in your life to help you harness this awesome power of your mind.  Your mind can then be a tool to help you achieve your life and your Soul purpose.

One technique that I have found valuable in my practice and my years of coaching and counseling people is that you can begin this by just self-observation.  I recommend starting with committing 3 minutes a day to this meditative exercise.  It starts with just consciously observing your thoughts.  When you notice a negative or fear based thought flash through your mind, take control of that thought.  Then deliberately, edit it, correct it and replace it with what you want and are striving to manifest in your life.

This editing, correcting (with intention) and replace technique is most important when what crosses your mind is fear.  To do this consciously and with intention is best achieved in a meditative state by aligning with your Higher Self and focusing upon your life’s purpose.  In this alignment, you have a greater vision.

This alignment is not a meditation but rather a meditative and aligned perspective.

Keeping a dual awareness of your Higher Self while observing your thoughts activates both your Soul wisdom and your lower mind intelligence.
         – Genevieve Gerard

This observation technique is best done from the viewpoint of what I call “the detached observer,” free of self-judgment or criticism.  Both self- judgment and self-criticism work against achieving positive thoughts.  The result is that when you have the opportunity to replace the negative and fear-based chatter of the “Monkey Mind” you gain control.

It is a meditative state because you are seeking to consciously align with your Soul and your Soul purpose in life. This allows you to be in a higher state of consciousness and a keener awareness than just thinking.

This exercise of observation from the perspective of the “detached observer” is a bridge between conventional uncontrolled casual thinking and meditation.

The 3-minute observation per day is a powerful and transforming technique.  That may seem very short, but if you consider and catch most of your negative thoughts to edit, and revise and replace the thought, you will have made a huge step forward in your ability to harness the power of your mind and learn to quiet the chattering mind.

This simple (although sometimes not easy) step is important in learning to meditate and empower your life.  At its core, quieting the chattering of your mind is a traditional goal of meditation.  Taking the additional step of observing the content of your thoughts with editing, revising and replacing that content with what is congruent with your goals, your dreams and desires make a huge difference.

In teaching this technique to my coaching clients, most have observed that a daily 3-minute practice of this method starts a major transformation in their lives.  You are no longer sending out your fears in your thoughtsYou are controlling your worrying.  Worrying is praying for what you don’t want.  You are now using the powerful universal principle that “energy follow thought” to your advantage.

The substitution process of exchanging a negative thought for a positive one can also be used with other meditation techniques such as affirmations Learning to harness the power of your mind enables you to send out into the world the energy to manifest what you want in a clear way that empowers your life.

Below are some links to some positive affirmations that have empowered many.  I have found listening to affirmations in the background, in the car while you drive, is especially useful.

The powerful principle that “energy follows thought” and the activation of “The Law of Attraction,” will be incorporated into your thoughts and life on a multidimensional basis, shifting your thoughts and your perspective on a daily basis.

The more often you practice this technique, the better the response in the material world.  Your thoughts are stronger than you realize.  Your mind is a co-creator in your life in cooperation with the Divine or Source (however you envision the Creator to be.)  The choice is yours.  The time to activate the awesome power of your mind to live the life you have always envisioned is NOW.  It is your life, and your mind is yours to master.

Namaste,

Genevieve

How to Use Empathy Effectively

Learning How to Use Empathy Effectively

Read Learning How to Use Empathy Effectively blog post by Genevieve Gerard

Empathy is an ability with many different definitions.

They cover a broad spectrum, ranging from caring for other people and having a desire to help them, to experiencing emotions that match another person’s emotions, to knowing what the other person is thinking or feeling.

According to Simple English Wikipedia, empathy is a word that means that someone is able to share or understand the emotions and feelings of another person.

I believe empathy is a gift.  However, for some who are awakening to their higher power, their Soul, it can be a challenge.

From reading many recent posts on Social Media, it is clear to me that empathy is rarely understood.  Those who are striving to be of help and service to humanity in this powerful time are often unaware of the higher purpose of being an empath and more importantly understand how empathy works.

I wrote this post because,

Learning how to use empathy effectively is an essential part of the process of spiritual awakening.
        – Genevieve Gerard

The openness of your energy field to the emotions and pain of others can be very useful when you are trying to heal another person.  However, when you are only moving through your life and find yourself feeling the pain and feelings that are not your own, it can be confusing.  Part of the process of empathy emerging in your consciousness is for you to learn to identify what comes from your individual consciousness and what is from your expanded consciousness.

There are some truths about empathy that I will explain briefly in this post along with some techniques and practices that can be helpful.

One truth is that spiritual gifts, like empathy, emerge spontaneously.  On the other hand, they may be difficult to integrate into modern life in our modern world.

We do not live in a society where spiritual experiences are explored and talked about or explained in daily life as a natural part of life.  As more and more individuals are facing the challenges of awakening without the support and guidance of a guide or mentor, confusion, and misunderstandings abound.

One of the advantages is this process of awakening is happening too many and not to only one individual.  However, the danger of these phenomena emerging outside of traditional spiritual instruction is the plethora of misunderstanding and misinformation that can be rapidly spread as well-meaning people struggle to teach others beyond what they know.

Recognizing that you know what you know, and recognizing that
you do not know what you do not know — this is knowledge.
       – Confucious

For many centuries, the source materials for volumes of spiritual knowledge have been kept secret and behind a veil.  In earlier times the Ageless Wisdom was revealed under the guidance of a master who worked with an individual or a group of students in a spiritual community that supported the nurturance and unfolding of their spiritual gifts.

In those times and under those conditions empathy was understood as an evolving part of a spiritual journey.

In our modern society, a spiritual journey is often not only misunderstood but since it is an experience outside of “consensus reality”, it may be labeled, diagnosed and medicated away.

If you are undergoing a process of spiritual awakening, it may be helpful to have a guide to the changes of enlightened awareness that can protect you from the danger of the misuse of your gift which can lead to misery and discomfort.

These risks are unique to our times and the trappings of our modern society.  When someone’s empathy gifts are emerging, and they begin to realize they are feeling the pains and emotions of others they most often suffer in silence.  When you share what you are experiencing to those who have never had the same experience you stand a good chance of being judged as crazy.  Worse still, you may judge yourself as crazy.

Fortunately, the emergence of the concept of empathy into consciousness groups gives some framework with which to begin to understand this strange reality.  However, although this loose explanation within social networking groups may be sufficient to provide a label that enables you to realize that you are not crazy, it falls short of teaching you how to use your gift without harming either yourself or those you seek to aid.  Knowing that you are not the only person who feels and experiences other people’s pain and emotions, falls short of teaching you how to use your gift for the service and support of others on their life journey.

Likewise, how empathy can be utilized as a dynamic part of your life journey is still missing.  What you can do to wield your gift from a centered and calm perspective is rarely addressed.  What you can do to protect yourself from the pain and raging emotions of others is a source of much confusion and misinformation.

How you incorporate your empathy into your social relationships is also important.  There are both ethical issues and issues of right relationship that you need to consider.  Your empathetic gift which has the underlying purpose of enabling you to be of help and healing to people can create harm if not used with compassion and understanding.

Certainly helping is the intention of most of those blessed with empathetic vision.  It is doubtful that you would have ever received the spiritual gift of empathy if you wanted it to harm others.

However, in all spiritual endeavors as in all of life, there is always the danger of unintended consequences.  It is to avoid those unintended consequences that it is important that you learn to use your empathy to heal, not hurt.

Most importantly, that also means to learn how to be an empath without hurting and harming yourself.

As I read through the hundreds of problems in posts shared on social media, I have become increasingly aware that adjusting to empathy without an underlying understanding and structure of the why and how to use the gift is a problem for many.

Using the gift of empathy effectively identifies some basic principles that are of great importance to understand.  Learning to recognize what is coming to you empathetically and then being able to discriminate and differentiate it from your personal thought reactions and feelings is an important first step.

Discernment and discrimination are of vital importance to use your gift of empathy in a way that both is of healing help to those around you without creating harm or hurt in your life.

Meditation is a valuable tool in helping you to do this.  It is also important to have a way to transcend, transform and transmute those emotions in yourself, and as a healer in others.  Part of being an effective healer and efficient as an empath is learning mastery of your emotions. Ponder on this.

Understanding your emotions is a significant step in your spiritual evolution, and it is often a challenge that happens concurrently with the emergence or increase in the spiritual gift of empathy.

Mastering your emotions is a significant life challenge.  Taking that mastery to a level where you can work with healing the emotions of others requires a deeper understanding of the nature of the emotional body and how you interact energetically with others.

Feel Free of All Negative Emotions

Understanding emotions are so important that in my body of work I created two different products from the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom to explain emotional transmutation.

The shorter (10 minute) version is called, “I Am Feeling Free.”  It allows you to learn to calm strong emotions and transmute fears and doubts. The longer and more technically complex guided training called “Feeling Free” takes about 20 minutes and is a guide to feeling free forever of all negative emotions.

Check out these short guided trainings on Amazon:

Feeling Free

Both involve learning to master your emotions and transmute and transform the energy.  Feeling Free is especially valuable for an empath because when you do it with the added intention of clearing and raising the emotional energy of everyone in the room it impacts the experience of everyone as a healing event.

Empathy Is A Gift

What is most empowering and significant to understand about being an empath is that not only are you aware of the emotions and hurts of others but that the purpose of that awareness is to empower you to help heal those hurts.  That is why empathy is considered a spiritual gift, and not as you may fear it to be a spiritual curse.

Using the universal law that “energy follows thought” makes intention a most powerful tool for an empath.  Part of the education of an empath is to enable them to use their empathy as a healing tool for the betterment of othersThat is the higher purpose for which the gift is available to Lightworkers and Light-bearers.

It is important to understand that as an Empath when you transmute, transform and transcend your negative emotions you (with intention) have the power to impact the vibration and emotional pain of all who are around you.  That is why Empathy is a gift and power you must learn to use wisely with discrimination and discernment.

How to Use Empathy Effectively

Meditating upon these issues is helpfulClearing your emotional field is essential. Understanding how to do that and incorporating emotional mastery into your life as a healer is also one of the keys.

Compassion and respect are essential elements of using your empathetic gift.  Practicing kindness and learning to be non-judgemental are attributes that are important to master.

Recently, as a lifetime student of the Ageless Wisdom, and a lifelong meditator who is also a healer and an empath, I have been feeling directed to offer an opportunity for empaths to learn and grow into how to better understand their gift.

Since I can only explain and write so much in a blog post, I am willing to offer my experience and wisdom as a longtime counselor, life coach, and healer, to teach and train those interested in learning to master their empathic gift through a series of webinars.

I will begin with a general webinar for those who need and desire this informationIf you are interested, you are invited!

Please simply join my community email list (I will only send out things occasionally and promise never to flood you with email) if you would like to be notified about the webinar.  When the time is right, I will then contact you personally by email to invite you to join the online event.

Out of the first empathy webinar event (and experience) and based on the needs and interest of the participants, I will develop a series of educational webinars on How to Use Empathy Effectively.

I trust the wisdom of the universe to attract to this event those who can grow and learn from it.  I encourage you to trust the knowledge of your internal guidance to know if this is something that would benefit you or a close friend.

If you are interested in learning more about how empathy works and how you can master your empathy gift, please opt-in above with your email and I will notify you about the webinar and any further articles I write on empathy.

You, as an empath have been given a powerful ability to having a healing presence and impact on those around you.  But you need to learn how to use your gift without taking on the emotions and pains of those you endeavor to help and heal.

To not learn that mastery and the Ancient Wisdom can make empathy a painful journey in a modern world where what you are experiencing is outside of the understanding of the world around you.

As a longtime empath, helping those who are awakening with the gift of empathy to understand it and use it effectively is something I have been directed to do in my meditations.  If you wish to learn more about How to Use your Spiritual Gift of Empathy, these webinars are for you.

Create Peace in Your Heart and Mind

Create Peace in Your Heart and Mind

Read Create Peace in Your Heart and Mind, Wisdom Wednesday blog post by Genevieve Gerard

To be at peace in your heart and mind is a blessing.

One of the primary ways that meditation can influence and enhance your life is by helping you reach a state of peace.  The fruits of meditation are a calm mind and inner peace.

The human mind is a busy and very active place.  The non-stop chatter of your mind is a powerful factor that impacts your life in a variety of ways.  Learning to master the power of your mind affects your life in dynamic and dramatic ways.

Perhaps one of the most tangible benefits of learning to meditate is to begin to develop mastery of the undisciplined chatter of what ancient teachers of meditation have long called the “monkey mind.”

Buddha described the human mind as being filled with drunken monkeys, jumping around, screeching, chattering, and carrying on endlessly. The unfocused mind rambles and chatters.  This constant “thought noise” is called (Chitta).  It is with the content of your Chitta that many of your life problems are created.

The positive results of learning to quiet and calm the mind of its ceaseless chatter relate to a number of different aspects that impact your life.  The ability to reach a state of peace and calm in your mind and with your emotions has significant health implications. This is inner peace.

Inner Peace Creates Peace
     – Genevieve Gerard

Just to achieve a calm and peaceful state of mind is formidable.  By learning to discipline your mind and your thoughts, you open your life to a mastery that has a far-reaching influence on being successful and achieving your dreams.

Issues as far reaching as how well you cope with and manage your life stress have profound implications for your success in life.  How well you can sleep is also related to your ability to gain mastery over the chatter that seems to run continuously in the backdrop of your mind.  Achieving peace of mind is a significant factor that relates to how much you enjoy your life.  Therefore gaining mastery over your mind and emotions to achieve peace of mind and calmness is important.

One of the most amazing parts of the human mind and one of the most effective results that can be life changing involves an understanding of the creative power and potential of your mind.  A basic principle of thought that can either serve you or destroy your wellbeing is that “energy follows thought.”

The principle of energy follows thought is what makes the “Law of Attraction” work to create miraculous results.  What it is easy to miss or fail to understand is that thought is a powerful form of energy.  When that thought is in the mind of a human being, thought is a primary creative force.

Part of the miracle of humanities creation is that the creator created you to create.  As a human being, you are endowed with a spark of Divine Light.  That spark of Divinity places you in a cooperative role with God as a co-creator of your life.

Your life has both meaning and a purpose.  You as a human being are a beloved child of God.  That imbues you with a creative or co-creative power with God.  The creative tool that directs the creation of your life is the energy that is generated by your thoughts. You can create peace within you!

That makes what you think important.  It is certainly much too important than to be ignored and allowed to run amok creating what you fear and worry about.  This is a danger as the undisciplined chatter of your thoughts creates problems and disasters in your life especially when you worry, focusing on what you fear.

Controlling your thoughts and, releasing your fear are the primary components that fuel the wisdom “Change your mind, and you can change your life” – GG

Focusing upon what you fear, what might happen and the tireless self-recriminations that I call the “should have, could have and ought’s” works against you.  Because of the powerful emotional charge that is generated by fear, fear can be not only the most limiting thought but also one of the most harmful.

Learning to harness the power of your mind and then to convert your thoughts into a powerful force that works for your benefit and success is one of the most significant advantages of meditation.  Ponder on what you can do to still your mind. What I have always found to be amazing is that the reality explored by great spiritual leaders and great business leaders reveal the same truth about the power of thought.

When the yogi starts to meditate, he must leave behind all sensory thoughts and all longings for possessions by quieting the waves of feeling (Chitta), and the mental restlessness that arises therefrom, through the application of techniques that reinstate the controlling power of the untrammeled super consciousness of the soul.
      – Paramahansa Yogananda

Your thought need not be mindless chatter that instructs the universe to create what you fear and worry about.  You can choose to use the miraculous power of your mind to create the life of your most amazing dreams.

The choice is yours.  You can live a life of unlimited possibilities with the potential to achieve as much as you dare to dream, or you can create the disasters you fear through worrying.  Of course, that choice is influenced by what you choose to think.  It is manipulated by the content of your thoughts and impelled by the energy of those thoughts.

Man, alone, has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality; man, alone, can dream and make his dreams come true.
      – Napoleon Hill

Thought Management is so potent and can be so transforming that it can appear to be magic.  However, it is grounded in universal principles.  This principle that “energy follows thought” and be the most useful instrument you can ever be given to impact your life.  Or conversely, can create terrifying limitations and anxiety as you create with your thoughts the disasters and failures that you fear.

I can think of no more practical reason to learn to gain mastery over your Chitta and your fears than the magnetic influence of thought.  Throughout the history of thought management, thought leaders and spiritual teachers are amazingly congruent on this point.

I find it both relevant and significant that the business world and the spiritual world are in agreement about how your mind impacts your life.

Of course, as a spiritual teacher, I advocate meditation as the tool to help you gain mastery of your thoughts.  However, one of the most effective explanations of this principle was written by a business leader Napoleon Hill in the 1920’s.  His book “Think and Grow Rich” explains the principles I am discussing from a business and success model.

In today’s post, I would like to offer you a gift of his book “Think and Grow Rich.” This is a free Adobe PDF of the full book that you can download and ponder on.  Although this book is a business tome, I have found it to be a very spiritual guidebook to help you fulfill your Soul or Life purpose

Making your life as joyous and successful as possible is spiritual work.  You can gain wisdom and mastery of your mind through meditation or the tools of success offered by business leaders.  Where and how you receive these concepts is unimportant.  That you learn and, more importantly, use these principles to empower and enhance your life is a blessing.

I leave you today with this final affirmation quote by the thought leader Louise Hays:

As my mind can conceive of more good, the barriers and blocks dissolve. My life becomes full of little miracles popping up out of the blue.

Be Receptive To the Guidance of Your Soul

Be Receptive To the Guidance of Your Soul

– Connecting with Your Higher Self for Life Advice

Read Be Receptive To the Guidance of Your Soul blog post by Genevieve Gerard

Recently in a discussion with one of my coaching clients, we explored how to access the guidance and wisdom of your Soul for practical advice.

She was seeking revelation about the life challenges she was currently facing. She thought to receive this kind of clear information was the practical application of spirituality. My client insisted this desire is the reason that spirituality has relevance.

This conversation made me consider her point of view. Particularly, I wondered, what can you do to enhance and empower receiving guidance and direction from your Higher Self? Of equal importance, is the question what can interfere with receiving Soul guidance in your life? That led me to consider the process of receiving guidance and direction from your Soul as a practical real-life issue.

I believe your Soul is not only a part of you but it also a partner in your life. It has a vested interest in helping you learn and grow. However, from the perspective of your personality, the way that it provides the situations and circumstances from which you learn and grow are often not what you want. It is not always clear what is right or best to do.

You learn and grow in so many different ways. This issue seems to need some clarification. In my many years of life coaching, I have led individuals through many meditations in which they reached their Soul for guidance. There are some patterns I have observed. What is most revealing is how much of the preparation for the meditation is just a litany of what the seeker wants or more importantly what they don’t want.

I find it significant that often the answer that emerges as received in meditation is just a repetition of their hopes and desires that were expressed while preparing to meditate. That seems to be a clear signal that it is not the direction of the Soul they received, but rather their desires and their attachments speaking. In considering this result, I am reminded of the words of My Fair Lady, “she’ll listen very nicely then go out and do precisely what she wants.” It is all too easy to project your attachment and desire and then, because you meditated, assume that you have contacted and listened to the wisdom of your Soul.

Not only is this true but in the process of having asked for guidance, it is easy to have the expectation that your Soul is now responsible for what happens. The logical conclusion of this “magical thinking” is that the role of the Soul is to be a kind of “Fairy God Mother” who manipulates the world of matter to make your life easier and more compatible with your desires. I believe this is simply not true.

You can see this kind of “magical thinking” all over the internet and especially on Facebook with the number of abundance posts in which you are asked to type “Yes” to a positive meme graphic about prosperity or miracles. The implication is that by simply typing “Yes” you need only to sit back and receptively wait for the miracle you desire to happen.

This kind of “magical thinking” is a misunderstanding of the Law of Abundance and the principle that “energy follows thought.” It is no wonder that people become discouraged and confused.

What is missing in this kind of “magical thinking” is the role and responsibility of the personality. Whereas it is true that “energy follows thought” it is important to understand that this vital principle is not something you just turn on when you type “Yes” or “Amen” in response to a photo with an inspirational statement; then turn off all of the other thoughts in your mind.

What you do makes a difference. Your dreams, your thoughts, your plans and your goals are all an integral part of success.

Cherish your visions and your dreams, as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.
           – Napoleon Hill

Indeed, meditation helps you to harness the power of your mind. Likewise, the Law of Attraction is activated and enhanced by all of the “Positive Mental Attitude” techniques you may use and employ. However, if you do these things only intermittently; that is exactly how they will work, intermittently.

If you ask, affirm or pray for abundance because you are afraid, you are using these principles to fuel the manifestation of what you fear. This is true even when you pray if what is in your mind while you are praying is fear. Worrying, I have often said, is like praying for what you don’t want. Saying a prayer in desperation without surrendering to Divine Will is an attempt to manipulate God. I don’t think that is how it works.

Likewise, typing “yes” for abundance while thinking about your fears and what is lacking in your life sends a mixed message. That mixed message is most often what you most often see manifesting in your life.

Asking For Guidance

This same principle is involved when you ask for guidance from your Higher Self. You have to stop your negative thoughts, your fear, and your worries. Otherwise, your personality will create from its litany of your concerns what you don’t want. You will not be able to hear anything at all from your Higher Self. Your mind chatter drowns out the still soft prompting of the voice of your Soul. To open yourself to the wisdom and guidance of your Soul or God in prayer requires surrender and a willingness to receive direction and guidance that may be very different from what you want.

To become more aware of how your fears and worries are controlling your unconscious requests is important. The power of your mind automatically responds to all of your thoughts. It responds to your wishes, and it responds to your fears. “The Law of Attraction” and the principle that “energy follows thought” do not have a shut-off valve. It is on 24-7.

That energy follows your thought works with every positive affirmation. It also works with every meditation of intention. However, it also engages with every fear and worry that crosses your mind. Therefore, it is important to understand that what you are thinking is constantly creating what is manifesting in your life.

For this reason, it is crucial for you to be aware of your thoughts and value and respect the co-creative power that they have.

Meditation is a powerful tool to help you use your mind to live the life you desire by gaining mastery over your mind. To help you increase your awareness of what you are asking the universe to provide, I recommend that you do a technique I call the “detached observer.” If you follow my work and my writings you that will note that this is not the first time that I have recommended this technique. This technique is not a meditation but what I call a meditative technique.

Detached Observer Technique

One technique that I have found valuable in my own practice and in my years of coaching and counseling people is that you begin just by self-observation.

I recommend starting with committing just 3 minutes a day to consciously observe your thoughts. When you observe a negative or fear-based thought flash through your mind, edit it, correct it and replace it with a conscious thought of what you want and are striving to manifest in your life.

This self-observation, edit, correct (with intention) and replace technique is most important and empowering when what crosses your mind is a fear. To do this consciously and with intention is best achieved in a meditative state while aligning with your Higher Self and focusing on your life’s purpose. In this alignment, you have a greater vision.

This technique is best done free of self-judgment or criticism (each of which works against achieving positive thoughts to replace the negative and fear-based chatter of the “Monkey Mind.”)

I refer to this as a meditative state because it is not really meditation, but as you are seeking to consciously align with your Soul and your Soul purpose in life you are in a higher state of consciousness and keener awareness than just thinking. So this exercise of observation from the perspective of the “detached observer” is a bridge between normal uncontrolled and casual thinking and meditation.

This can be a powerful and transforming technique. As I mentioned I recommend starting with this technique 3 minutes every day. That may seem very short but if you really consider and catch most of your negative thoughts to edit, and revise and replace the thought, you will have made a huge step forward in your ability to harness the power of your mind and learn to quiet the chattering mind. This simple (although sometimes not easy) step is important in learning to meditate and to empower your life.

In teaching this technique to my coaching clients, most have observed that a daily practice of this technique begins major transformation in their lives.

I suggest that you start out using this method for 3 minutes a day for 30 days. Three minutes of your day is not very much. However, three minutes is enough to demonstrate my point. Three minutes is sufficient to describe the energy you are sending out.

Harnessing the power of your thoughts and making them serve you, while very simple is not always easy. Your mind functions in a multilevel way with ideas so rapid and diverse it is like catching quicksilver.

Throughout the eons of teaching meditation, helping the student gain control of what is often called “The Monkey Mind” or the “Chattering Mind” has been the goal.

In fact, the extended periods of meditating on the ‘no thing,’ ‘the void,’ ‘the sound of one hand clapping’ and other techniques that I learned in my early days of meditation, all seemed to be focused on learning to quiet your chattering mind.

Likewise, mantras repeated serve the same purpose. Similarly, the repetitive phrases of awareness that are taught in mindfulness meditations serve the same goal; they teach you to focus your thoughts and wrestle control from the chatter. Using guided meditations serve the same purpose. They are certainly easier than focusing on the “no-thing” or “the void.”

ATS Affirmations For Abundance CD-MP3 by Genevieve Gerard

Check out my Awaken to Success CD or MP3’s, which give you 21 positive affirmations for abundance. Use these to empower yourself to create the life of your dreams.

All are techniques to focus your thoughts in the desired direction you choose for your consciousness. Guided meditations are an effective and efficient way to harness the power of your mind to help you create the life and experiences you desire. Focusing on a problem with a focused intention on a daily basis can be transforming. The issue of regularity and repetition are key elements in using meditation to change your life.

Daily meditation need not be an arduous process. Moreover, although in my early days of meditating I was instructed to meditate for 30 minutes to an hour daily, I have found over the last 48 years that daily meditation consistently applied with intention is more important than the time spent.

When I create a guided meditation experience, I strive to capture the essence of the subject that I focus on in a 10 to 20-minute session. In meditation, it is quality rather than quality that counts.

The process of quieting your mind chatter enables you to receive the still prompting guidance of your Higher Self. Likewise, to be receptive to the wisdom of your Soul, it is important to cease your attachment to what you desire or expect in order to open your heart and your mind. Ponder on this.

This dual process of quieting your mind as much as possible and surrendering your personal will and desires to be receptive to the guidance you are receiving are crucial steps in receiving advice from your Higher Self.

We must let go of the life we have planned,
so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.
           – Joseph Campbell

I also recommend that if you are seeking the wisdom and direction of your Soul in your life that you set aside at least 10 minutes a day, regularly to meditate on that very subject. Then apply the technique of the detached observer by revising and reframing every negative thought, aligning it with what you feel your Higher Self is directing you to. Do these meditations with as much of an attitude of surrender to Divine Will as you are able.

I further recommend that you follow your “asking” time with a reflective and receptive time that you write in a spiritual journal. This combination of meditation and journal entry will increase the effectiveness of your request.

You Higher Self, your Soul, is available to you. When you can quiet your desires, your fears and listen to your Souls wisdom and guidance, it becomes a partner on your life journey, and your life journey becomes your spiritual journey.

Namaste,
Genevieve

Act As If

Read Acting As If blog by Genevieve Gerard

Act As If . . .

Within the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom is a very powerful tool you can use to transform your life into the life you desire.

It is Acting As If what you want already is.

Acting As If uses and combines many of the laws and universal principles of which I have previously written. Energy Follows Thought and the Law Of Attraction are two of the most important that become activated when you Act As If.

Acting As If is a great way to bring into your life the events and circumstances that you want and need.

The creative power of the mind is impressive when activated. To use that creative force to fashion the life of your dreams is what the power of positive thinking and positive action is all about.

A great many subtle factors go into being successful with any of these techniques. Perhaps one of the most significant things to realize is that the creative potential of the mind works when you are sending the thought signals of what you want. However, it also can work when you have fears and worries.

The creative power of the mind does not stop to evaluate the content of the directions it is receiving. That is up to you. You can choose to bring into your life what you desire (both good or bad) at any moment in time.

The best way to achieve your outcome is to act as if you have already reached it – live your dreams now and let reality catch up.”
      – Roger Ellerton

At times it may require releasing your fears and acting on faith so that you do not bring those fears into reality. What is wonderful is that you can choose not to be limited by your fears.

Acting As If is a dynamic technique to keep the creative aspect of your mind focused on manifesting what you desire. When you Act As If what you want and need is already happening you help focus your creative mind. The attention to what it takes to Act As If clarifies your intention and colors in your thoughts with valuable details.

Clarifying what you are invoking when activating the Law of Attraction is often an effective mechanism. Many have found creating a vision board or a mind map to be helpful. The more details you can envision and more in tune with the feelings you want to experience once you have manifested what you need, the easier it is to keep your mind focused on the outcome you desire. Ultimately, you still have to take action on those thoughts to create your new reality.

I was speaking to a coaching client of mine recently whose life experiences just demonstrated this. My client had recently transcended her fear sufficiently to let herself be open to the abundance of purchasing a new car. This was a big step for her. Within days of making the purchase and living in gratitude, her employer, who had originally only had contract work available, came to her and offered her a permanent position that had just unexpectedly become available. Her act of faith was rewarded by what she needed coming to her almost instantly.

To efficiently Act As If, it is important to envision what you want to manifest and become, using all of your senses. So, to help you manifest the life of your dreams, today I am suggesting a smorgasbord of techniques you can use to empower Acting As If.

  1. Create a Mind Map or Vision Board to use when you are Acting As If. I suggest that you fill in as much detail of how your life will be when the goal or dream you desire has manifested. This detail will serve as a guide to your behavior when you are Acting As If.
  2. Declare your intention by identifying an “I Am” statement. Think about the identity you are creating. As an example, “I am a successful _________,” “I am competent in _________,” “I Am an effective __________.” In this use of an “I Am” statement you are focusing on your role in demonstrating your goal.
  3. Whenever you “catch yourself” worrying, being fearful, or having any doubts about manifesting your needs and desires, stop and focus your thoughts on what you are striving to create and release the fears. This clearing of the negative self-talk is the key to making this technique work. In the link below, I offer a powerful 10-minute “I Am Feeling Freemeditation that can help you learn how to calm strong emotions and transmute fears and doubts.
I Am Feeling Free Meditation Download by Genevieve

Now, in each moment of the day, in what you do and how you respond to every situation and circumstance that presents itself to you, Act As If what you desire and need is already a reality.

William James altering their attitudes of mind quote

Remember that consistency and repetition add power to this technique. This is a state of mind, you must act and live your life As If you already have accomplished your goal and feel what it would feel like when you did.

What you believe and present to the world as a fact that you know and believe in your being, becomes a reality. Then, the more you can manifest what you desire and need, the more real it becomes.

Act as if you are poised and confident. Act as if you already have it!

Many layers go into the creation of your identity and your reality. This technique of Acting As If will empower you to be and become all that you are meant to be.

Using meditation and affirmations are also helpful. Confirming that what you are focusing upon is in alignment with your life purpose or your Soul purpose eases the way. This is your life and your thoughts, and your actions are what determine what your life will be. Today, you are exactly where you believe you should be. Ponder on this!

You have unlimited choices and before you are unlimited possibilities.
      – Genevieve Gerard

It is never too late to live your dreams. Whatever mistakes you may have made in the past are now over. When you relegate them to the past, you free yourself from having to repeat them. What is important is to live in the present moment.

Letting go of what has been and is now past is important in opening your life to the potential that is available in the future that has not yet been created.

It is to create that positive future and to fulfill the life of your dreams where the As If technique is most valuable. It immediately opens new doors and new opportunities.

It is wise to clear away the residuals of your past as soon as possible, so the slate is as clean as you can make it. One of the most dynamic and freeing ways you can transform your life is by forgiveness. Forgiving someone of their transgression against you frees you from being trapped in the past. It also releases the anger, the hurt and the sense of betrayal that can keep you in a victim role.

Self-forgiveness is also an important piece of becoming free to accept and manifest your new life. Often forgiving yourself is significant in freeing your life to move forward because it is common to be angry at yourself for letting the person you need to forgive do you wrong.

Most of the time, you failed to protect yourself or assert yourself. It is that you need to forgive. When the forgiveness has been accomplished, your life is more open to creating the reality you have chosen. The obstacles that you were holding onto are now swept away.

I encourage you to use this tool today to create the life that you want.

Your life is before you waiting to be manifested and enjoyed. Consider what you desire and begin living it today. Today is, after all, the first day of the rest of your life; celebrate it.

Namaste,

Genevieve

Activation of Healing Energies

Activation of Healing Energies

Read Activation of Healing Energies article by Genevieve Gerard

This is another article in my on-going series on Healing.

When you pray for healing, you are activating energy.

Healing energy activation takes place on many levels.

First, it activates your thoughts, engaging the powerful life dynamic that “energy follows thought.”

Immediately by focusing positive thought, intention and desire on healing, the healing power within your body is empowered.  This happens in the organs and glands, all the way to the cellular level of your body and even into the atomic substance of your being.

Also, when you pray for healing you are calling upon help from the Divine.  In so doing, you are surrendering to and aligning with God’s Will and purpose for your life.  That is always powerful and empowering.  Re-aligning, or aligning for the first time in your life is transformative.

Your prayers also draw the conscious attention of your physical problem(s) to your Soul.  Praying for healing alerts your Higher Self that you are now open to learning whatever lesson the dis-ease was created to teach.

Dis-ease often manifests to alert you to the ways your life may have gone out of balance, physically, emotionally or with your thoughts.  Invoking healing and inviting healing declares your desire and your intention to rebalance and restore your life.

Your Soul then can call for the help and support of the angels.  It may call for the assistance of your guardian angel that is committed to you in this life, or it may call upon angels and devas who provide specialized energy that is more responsive to the healing that you need.

Energy is activated, and that activation creates a response on the physical level of your being, as well as in your emotional and mental bodies.

The merger of energies that invoking and surrendering to healing activates bridges the spiritual world with the world of matter and demonstrates the integration of the wholeness of the Self, body, emotions, mind and Soul.

It is important to remember that all of this happens energetically and spontaneously when you pray for or invoke, healing help.  Your conscious part in all of this is to keep your thoughts positive.  It is also important to remain receptive to what you need to learn from this dis-ease experience.  In that are the seeds of miracles and wisdom, ponder on this.

As you ask for healing it is of vital importance that you join in with the efforts being activated by your prayers.  Healing is a team effort, and you are by definition a key player on that team.  Divine intervention and angelic help are no substitutes for doing your work of consciousness to facilitate healing.

Important Ways That You Can Activate and Support the Healing Process:

Maintain a positive mental attitude.  The dynamic principle that “energy follows thought” is of paramount importance when you are involved in a healing transition.  It is a powerful time to engage the power of your mind.

Engaging the power of your mind as a support to the prayers and invocation for Divine and Angelic help is a way that you can help yourself.  That requires being conscious of what you are thinking and what you are feeling and, when you find your thoughts negative, immediately replacing that negative thought with a positive or hopeful one.

As much as it is important to cooperate in your healing by maintaining a positive mental attitude and using your mind to encourage and support your healing, so too is it important to use your time of healing and restoration to learn to conquer your fears.  Often in times of illness, you may experience fear.  This is normal and to be expected.  With severe illnesses the logical result, if there is no healing, is often death.  Focusing on your fears hinders healing.  Realize that sometimes the ultimate healing is the release of the physical form from this planet.  When invoking healing its best to invoke “right action” and live in the NOW moment.

Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones.
       – Thich Nhat Hanh

These are two of the most important life lessons so it makes perfect sense that they would be significant in a time of healing.  Fear is both debilitating and damaging to your body, mind, and emotional well-being. Therefore, to take the time, while you are healing, to gain mastery over your negative thoughts and replace those with positive thoughts make perfect sense.  Likewise, take the time of healing to learn mastery over your fears.

Healing creates a fertile time to learn important life lessons; lessons which when mastered in the healing process, empower and improve the rest of your life.   That is why among those who work with “laying on of hands”, psychology and energetic healing often refer to an illness as a healing crisis.

Healing is a matter of time,
but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.
       – Hippocrates

When you pray for healing and invoke the power of the Divine, the power of your Soul and the help and assistance of Angels, it is a good time to consider your life particularly in light of how you can improve your life.  What is the purpose of this life and how can you bring your life into alignment to manifest that purpose.

If your healing requires, as is often the case, a time of recovery then I suggest again that you use that time to strengthen your ability to maintain a positive mental attitude and to conquer your fears, and ultimately let go of any negative influence from your past by forgiving yourself.

You may need to use your recovery time to re-evaluate your life and consider mistakes you have made and what you need to do differently.

You may recall from the biblical stories of Jesus’s healings that very often forgiveness played a crucial role.  Jesus made the statement “your sins are forgiven.”  Forgiveness is always available once you have the understanding and insight that you have made a mistake. Forgiveness is available to empower the transformation process.

Although Divine forgiveness is assured, in my many years of coaching and counseling I have found that although most people can accept the concept of forgiveness coming from a God of Love and Grace, they often have a hard time forgiving themselves.  Forgiving yourself is often a key element in healing.  Once you have understood the lesson of a dis-ease and modified your thinking or behavior, it becomes essential to stop clinging to the self-recrimination and blame.

It becomes important to put the past in the past where it belongs and let yourself move forward into the present where the great release is available to you.  Forgive yourself and then open your life to the unlimited possibilities of a future that is only now being created and coming into manifestation.

There is a fine balance between honoring the past and losing yourself in it. For example, you can acknowledge and learn from mistakes you made, and then move on and refocus on the now. It is called forgiving yourself.
       – Eckhart Tolle

Self-forgiveness is the final step in the process of healing.

Over my many years of helping people through healing crisis’s, be they from injury or illness, I have found the following things to be important steps in the healing process.  To facilitate and help with these important steps, I have created guided meditations to help you and your loved ones.

For positive mental attitude,
consider the use of positive affirmations:

         Awaken to Success Affirmations

         Soaring to Success Affirmations

For transcending, transforming and
transmuting negative emotions and fears:

         I Am Feeling Free Meditation

For forgiving yourself and
freeing yourself from the past:

         How to Forgive Yourself Meditation

And to help you experience
the healing blessing of sleep:

         Sleep in Heavenly Peace Meditation

I hope you are drawn to using these guided meditations and visualizations and that their use enhances and empowers your healing and your life.

Namaste,

Genevieve

7 Mind-Body Techniques to Increase Your Feelings of Confidence and Success

7 Mind-Body Techniques to Increase Your Feelings of Confidence and Success

Read "The 7 Mind-Body Techniques to Increase Your Feelings of Confidence and Success" by Genevieve Gerard

This article is about using the mind-body-spirit relationship to enhance happiness and increase your feelings of confidence and success.

In the past I have discussed how smiling enhances happiness.

Today I would like to expand on my smiling concept to offer you some additional powerful techniques to help you increase your feelings of confidence and success and live the life of your dreams.

Click to listen to me reading this post to you (15 minutes).

Mind-Body-Spirit Relationship

These are tools that are a dynamic part of your mind-body relationship and work on a physiological level using the inherent power of your autonomic nervous system to give you greater success in your life.

There is within you simple but miraculous ways in which your mind, body, and your emotions work together. It is important to understand the ways that they can work together to your advantage and empowerment.

More and more as science can reveal the subtle interrelationship of body, emotions, mind, and spirit, we are beginning to understand how much of what we experience in life is within our command.

Science has been constantly unfolding with new studies and research into the amazing ways that your state of being responds to synthesis and integration of the mind with the body and the emotions, by signaling the production of endorphin’s, serotonin, and other mood-enhancing and mind-expanding chemicals.

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.
        – Franklin D. Roosevelt

I first became fascinated with the ways that the mind could influence the body, and the body could influence the mind and emotions when a new technology called biofeedback came into my awareness.

The biofeedback technology was so amazing to me that I became one of the first to learn and become certified in this emerging field in the 70’s. I am not by nature scientific, so to learn to understand the physiological and psychological implications of this inter-relationship was challenging. I was then, and continue to be, deeply committed to understanding how life can be empowered to bring greater success and joy.

Fortunately, in the subsequent 40 years since I struggled to learn how the body, the mind, the emotions, and the spiritual aspect of man worked together many scientists have used this technology to study and reveal to humanity the power of this integration of the self. My many years of counseling people through catastrophic injuries and debilitating pain demonstrated time and time again the ways that this integration and synthesis could be used to resolve and empower an individual life.

New studies are emerging all the time from the scientific community that prove how these parts of human nature can work together to enhance and empower the individual.

Recent studies on the physiological advantages of meditation on physical health and a sense of well-being have confirmed what has often been taught in the Ageless Wisdom. Your body works in synergy with what you think and what you feel. It uses the signals of body language to integrate feelings of happiness and success.

Gain Mastery Over Your Life

Today, I would like to reveal how you can use some of these new discoveries to gain mastery over your life. What is known as the autonomic nervous system is perhaps the most amazing part of your anatomy, yet it is something you most likely rarely even consider. It enables you to breathe in and breathe out without requiring conscious thought. And when engaged consciously can have a profound impact on your state of being.

This is true in helping you enter a meditative state of consciousness and in helping you to relax and manage your life’s stress. As simple an act as moving your breath from the autonomic to conscious awareness can have subtle influences in how your whole being responds. The relationship between the glandular production, hormones, and all of the very subtle signals that are sent based upon a specific action and stimulus are amazing.

There are a wealth of studies available if you are interested. It is fascinating to explore how these autonomic responses can be used to help you achieve your goals. Beyond the power of breath, which spiritual teachers have used for thousands of year is the intricate response of certain physical actions, such as a smile, to the impact and influence of your body language and how that signals emotional responses. Your thoughts, especially your affirmations and expressions of intention combine to help bring into manifestation what you desire.

The starting point of all achievement is desire.
        – Napoleon Hill

I recently saw a T.E.D. talk that had been viewed more than 55 million times, called “Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are” by a professor and researcher at Harvard Business School. It discussed the increase in performance and confidence in people who went into a job interview after having performed body power poses associated with victory and success. Watch your body language shapes who you are and try the power pose technique.

As I listened to the T.E.D. talk, I related it to a subject on which I often write, “Energy Follows Thought” and on the quote, I often refer to “As a man thinketh so shall he be.”

That these success postures can influence you to be more successful reaffirms the mind-body relationship.

As I suggested in my blog “How Smiling Enhances Happiness,” I encourage you to experiment with and read more about the mind-body relationship.

Below are seven free no-tech life hack techniques
to get you started:

The 7 Mind-Body Techniques To Increase Your Feelings of Confidence and Success

  1. Pick a positive affirmation that asserts the truth of what you are striving to achieve and repeat it throughout the day.
  2. Create a positive “I Am…” statement that confirms and affirms what you desire and say it to yourself each time you look at yourself in a mirror.
  3. Imagine the feelings of having accomplished what you want. What would people be saying to you? What would they now think about you and your accomplishment?
  4. Consider what the posture that someone of this level of confidence and success would have. How would they enter into a room?
  5. With your body language signal (by your actions) the emotional state you want to achieve. YES!
  6. Open your attention to this exact moment in time by putting your past behind you and opening yourself to the unlimited possibility and potential of what is now about to manifest.
  7. Get up and move your body to celebrate achieving a goal to solidify the sense of joy and well-being that comes from fulfilling an accomplishment. My dear friend calls this the “Happy Dance.”

You may wish to say your positive affirmation while you look at yourself in a mirror. This is especially effective with the “I Am” statements. You may wish to listen often throughout the day to a specific affirmation by streaming it and replaying it to reactivate your sense of the truth of what you are affirming. This is powerful way of bringing your affirmations into manifestation.

The Keys to Harnessing Your Thoughts

The Keys to Harnessing Your Thoughts
to Create Your Life

Read "The keys to harnessing your thoughts to create your life" blog by Genevieve Gerard

In the writings and the teachings of many, the human potential movement is an amazing and very powerful concept, Energy Follows Thought.”

It is powerful because as you really understand this principle and how it works, you have the tools to create the life of your dreams.

However, to really utilize this to its full potential there are some things that will help you to understand.

Read "The keys to harnessing your thoughts" blog by Genevieve Gerard
Understanding the subtle way that “Energy Follows Thought” works and then applying it in your life is a key to empowering you to fulfill your life’s purpose.

This potent law about life is one you can use to change your life right now. It enables you to claim your full potential to be and become all that you are meant to be.

It is a key element of success. When you use this dynamic principle that energy follows thought, you activate the Law of Attraction.

What is very important to understand about these (often touted but frequently not fully explained) is that when using a universal law or principle to impact your life, that rule is always active. You can use it to help you or it can be a stumbling block, but it is at work all the time. Once you realize this, it becomes your choice whether to use it to have what you want or not.

Like many truths about life, the fact that energy follows thought is simple. However, harnessing your thoughts to create what you envision in life is not always easy.

This is because thoughts are multilayered, also multifaceted and run through your mind lightning fast. Unfortunately, thoughts flow constantly and are most often unconscious. This unconscious and unharnessed element of your thoughts is what is known as mind chatter.

For eons one of the most significant goals of learning to meditate has been to gain mastery over the chaotic damage created in life by undisciplined mind chatter. It is a challenge that is sometimes explained as learning to master the monkey mind.

The monkey mind is a phrase that teachers have used to describe the content of thought that creates the chaos that is evident in most people’s lives.

This content is filled with fears and worries, jumbled in with occasional hopes and aspirations. Therefore, what you are sending out to the universe to activate the principle that “energy follows thought” is the hodgepodge of your hopes, mixed in with a generous dose of your fears.

Is it any wonder, that your life doesn’t unfold consistent with your dreams and desires when what you are sending out as instructions for creation is garbage. To borrow a phrase from the early days of computer science the function of your mind power is “garbage in, garbage out.”

Learning to quiet and control the negative impact of the chattering mind is a primary purpose of practicing meditation.

An important step in gaining mastery over the creative power of your mind is to become aware of the content of your mind chatter, and then to use that awareness to create what you intend.

A Key Tool

Read "The keys to harnessing your thoughts" blog by Genevieve GerardA technique I often recommend is to pay attention to the content of your thoughts from the perspective of a detached observer. As the detached observer you will notice what you are thinking, and therefore you will be sending out to the universe your correct instructions for manifestation..

As you do this, suspend judgement and just observe.

It may be easiest to see how this principle is at work by considering and observing your own emotions. You might like to experiment and try this exercise:

Every time you feel depressed about something, try to identify a corresponding negative thought you had just prior to and during the depression. Because these thoughts have actually created your bad mood, by learning to restructure them, you can change your mood.
        – David D. Burns

Read "The keys to harnessing your thoughts" blog by Genevieve Gerard
Your ability to observe, to become aware, to reframe, to replace and change your thoughts, are some of the other keys to changing your life. Change your thoughts, change your life.

When you begin to pay attention, to really listen and consider the content of your thoughts, you will be amazed or you may be horrified. If you consider the ways that your thoughts create your reality through the elements of the Law of Attraction, and the principle that energy follows thought, you will begin to realize the control and mastery you can achieve in your life.

Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.
        – Willie Nelson

You will begin to understand that you are more in control and more powerful in your life than you have ever dared to dream.

With the understanding of the creative power that is available to you also comes the realization that you are not a victim of your own life. Therefore, you have a responsibility to yourself to create in your life that which will support you in fulfilling your life’s purpose.

Know that the process of mastering your negative mind chatter and learning to replace and reframe your thoughts will require vigilance and discipline.

Negative thoughts stick around because we believe them, not because we want them or choose them.
        – Andrew J. Bernstein

This isn’t the first time I have spoken about that energy follows thought and how to use it to ignite the Law of Attraction. It is a subject that I have written about frequently (there are several links to related posts listed below.)

It is a subject that I plan to explore further in a webinar in the near future, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Please watch for the announcement of that event.

What you think, is not beyond your control. You can choose to use these tools to be empowered in what you do, to create your life and bring it into more alignment with your goals and your desires.

Taking control of the creative power of your mind is a dynamic first step in learning how to create your life, and bring into your life what you need and what you desire more effectively.

This is your life. It is the stage on which to act out your dreams. It is the opportunity for you to be the director of your life, to act positively and affirmatively instead of being reactive.

Overcoming your fears is an important part of learning to use the creative power of your thoughts in a way that manifests positively. So is using positive affirmations.

Throughout this website, contained in many of my guided meditation products and affirmations are tools that can help you in your quest. You are more powerful and capable than you have ever imagined. You have unlimited potential to manifest the life of your dreams.

This quest to harness your thoughts to create your life will enlighten your awareness as you travel along your journey and you will find much that you can use to transform your life to be more joyful.

Namaste,

Genevieve

Two Secrets To Ignite the Law of Attraction

Two Secrets To Ignite the Law of Attraction

Appreciation & Gratitude to Ignite The Law of Attraction

There are a number of secrets in what is known as the Law of Attraction. It is by incorporating them into your life that you will gain mastery and abundance.

The Law of Attraction, like many of the universal principles that govern life, is stimulated and empowered by what you do.

As with all of these universal laws and principles, the more consciously you employ them, have appreciation in the moment and then take action, the more effective they are. This is the far-reaching benefit of living a conscious life.

Living a conscious life means having the willingness, curiosity, and courage to stay present to your thoughts and feelings, to the meeting point of body, emotion, mind, and spirit.

It means staying present to the impact you have on others and your environment, as well as the choices available to you. To live a conscious life—to be awake and aware—is to be gloriously alive!”
      – Dr. Jennifer Howard,
Host of the weekly radio talk show, A Conscious Life

1. Living A Conscious Life

Living consciously involves understanding and incorporating many of the tools and techniques that are available from the Ageless Wisdom.

Conscious living is an underlying theme in most of the Wisdom Wednesday blogs I write because it is a key element in living a happy and successful life in which the choices you make have a direct impact on your experience of joy and life.

Revealing and encouraging you to use these ageless tools and techniques and to learn to live an integrated life where you can express and enjoy your life purpose and your Soul purpose, is what this Wisdom Wednesday blog series is all about and what fuels all of my meditation products.

You may have noticed that Abundance is a theme that I address repetitively because it is a challenge in so many lives.

To assist you, I have a free download on the home page of my website called Invocation of Magnetic Attraction. It is available for you today along with a downloadable PDF of the Invocation that you can print and use. In addition, two of my most successful products, “Awaken to Success” and “Soaring to Success,” offer affirmations for abundance. You will find that this is an area of life that responds to the conscious focus of the technique of affirming what you are striving to achieve and has the added benefit of increasing your enjoyment of life’s adventure.

Appreciation and gratitude signal your mind that this is something good, this is something you want, this is something that you desire. Therefore, the act of conscious appreciation works as a powerful magnet to bring to you more of what you enjoy.
      – Genevieve Gerard

2. Gratitude and Appreciation

The very act of appreciation works in many ways.

First, it focuses your attention on what you already have in a positive and dynamic way. This unleashes the subtle power of the Law of Attraction. Immediately upon noticing what you have that you appreciate you are affirming your abilities. When your attention is upon what you have accomplished in life and have already received, you are naturally stimulated to consider creative solutions to current goals and desires.

This starts a chain reaction that leads to even greater success. Your creativity is stimulated with new ideas. Solutions to issues you have held in the background of your mind open up to you. This is a subtle alchemy that influences your life.

It is no surprise that people are more open, receptive and generous to those who express their gratitude. This is a significant factor in successful relationships, both personal and business. Appreciation is a powerful stimulant to do more and give more of what is appreciated. That is a subtle dynamic of how the Law of Attraction works that is both logical and easy to understand.

This energetic principle also utilizes the dynamic principle that “energy follows thought.” These combined forces make a powerful tonic for creating success in your life. To use these tools to enhance your success just makes sense.

Just as thoughts, send out vibrations to which there is a creative and attractive power, gratitude stimulates the field of etheric energy that surrounds you on a subtle level to bring into your life more of what brings you joy.
      – Genevieve Gerard

The Law of attraction and the dynamic principle that Energy Follows Thought are at work in the world whether you use them or not. They can be used consciously for your advantage or denied and ignored completely. Whether they are used or not, they are still at work. That is the nature of universal laws and principles. They are amazingly impersonal. Yet, by consciously using these laws and principles in your life, you have at your command ways to impact and influence your life for good, for success, for joy.

Expressing your appreciation works by energetically magnetizing to you more of what you appreciate. When your appreciation is expressed to someone else, everybody in the situation feels good. That seems like a pretty great result by doing something that is easy to do.

Appreciation is a wonderful thing: it makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”
      – Voltaire

Consider your life today. As the year is winding down into the oblivion of the past and a shiny new year is ahead, it is a good time to take stock of and consider the many ways you have been blessed. I suggest you use this period to try an experiment.

Create an Appreciation List

Make a list of 10 things in your life, which you truly appreciate about your life. As you move through your days leading up to the New Year, express your appreciation for those things.

If there is someone who enhances your life, let them know you appreciate them.

As often as you can throughout the day, remember what is on your list and express your appreciation for it, even if it is only in your mind, silently. Let yourself be filled and strengthened by the satisfaction and happiness that expressing your appreciation brings.

It is helpful to review your “appreciation list” every morning. You can make a copy of the list to post on your mirror or copy it into your mobile phone. Make it available and accessible, easy to consider, easy to remember, easy to express.

So much of our thinking is habitual. If you make it your habit to appreciate what you already have you are incorporating one of the most effective techniques of conscious living.

In the weeks before the New Year, consciously observe what opportunities and circumstances reveal themselves to you around the items on your “appreciation list.” I think you will be delightfully surprised.

Igniting the Law of Attraction in your life can have far-reaching impact. Using the powerful principle of appreciation as a magnetic force for what you wish to attract can enhance your effectiveness.

I suggest you experiment and then observe your life on a variety of levels.

At the end of this posts are some related links that you may find helpful and supportive. I invite you to share your impressions either in the Transformation Stories page of my website or as a comment at the end of this post.

Choose to take this fertile time and open up to the new possibilities and promise of a New Year. Through appreciation and gratitude, you will be taking an important step in creating the life that you desire.

Namaste,

Genevieve

Read "You Are A Spark of Divine Light" Serenity Sunday article by Genevieve Gerard

This bold truth reveals what is magical and mystical about a human being.

This truth has been a foundation of all world religions and of all paths since the beginning of time, yet it remains one of the deepest secrets in our human consciousness.

The truth can set you free. Yet, it is a truth that is not easy to really understand and often difficult to manifest in the world. It is this truth that speaks to understanding the nature of God and the purpose for mankind in the world.

What is amazing is that although this is a concept that is as old as time itself it seems to be ever a new revelation each time it is expressed. As I write these words I am aware of all of the traditions that have tried to share this truth about the nature of humanity and the nature of God that have become obscured in dogma. This unfortunately only hides the truth leaving just small hints or glimpses into the full power, the full majesty and the amazing glory of what the statement “you are a spark of divine light” means.

It is beyond my ability to imagine how frustrating and disappointing it must be for God to have tried so many times in so many ways to reveal this truth about the nature of life and the purpose and promise of life itself only to watch His amazing creation of humanity suffer and struggle through their lifetimes both unaware and unwilling to be what we were created to be.

Even as I look internally, I am aware of so many obstacles in my own mind and in my own consciousness that I understand that this concept is not easy to understand. I find that I lack the vocabulary and the writing skill to teach or express the vast magnitude of what is possible when I let myself realize the implications of that truth.

In India, there is an ancient tradition that has emerged from one of the world’s oldest traditions, that of greeting and acknowledging one another by saying “Namaste.” This greeting serves as a reminder of this great truth when you slightly bow your head with your hands together and over your heart because the word Namaste means, “the divinity in me recognizes and honors the divinity in you.”

In this simple act of tradition lies a reminder of the truth that you are created as a spark of the Divine Light. The Namaste greeting or acknowledgment serves not only as a reminder of this often shielded truth of our true nature but also as a brief blessing. The slight bow of greeting and honor that is commonly seen throughout India, China and most of the Asian world works in a subtle and mystical way, as blessings do. This is because as you acknowledge and honor the divinity in another as you honor and acknowledge the divinity in yourself you are automatically and spontaneously aligned with God.

That is a mystical part of blessing someone. As you give a blessing you must open yourself to the Divine, and to do so you are also blessed. This is the power and the magic of blessing and it is true and profound in whatever culture, with whatever words are used.

What is so magical about both the giving and receiving of a blessing is that when you bless someone you are consciously aligning with the Divine using whatever words you choose to understand God or your higher source. Even more important, you are acting in your role as a co-creator with the creator.

We are told that God created man in his own image. God granted man that spark of His own Divine nature. This Ageless Wisdom and the ancient scriptures from all traditions and all paths tell us this. I cannot think of a single religion or tradition in the world that does not acknowledge this truth.

However, to understand the purpose and the meaning of this great gift that God gave to humankind when life was breathed into his creation is our challenge as human beings. God gave us this great gift but because free will is a universal element of the nature of life itself, God must give us hints and nudges to guide us and help us learn to align our personal will with Divine Will.

There are so many times and so many ways God has tried to bring us into the harmony and union for which we are created. The history of the world is filled with messages and examples of God’s saving grace through history. This relationship with God is the essential element of all spiritual paths and spiritual teachings.

If we study the history of revelation from world teachers to world saviors to prophets and saints, we have been left with some basic directions. These are amazingly consistent despite all of their individual dogma and diversity for they all direct us to love, to love God, to love ourselves and to extend that love to others. We are reminded that the nature, the essence and very being of God is love. And that spark of Divine Light that is within each and every human heart, mind and Soul is composed of love and created by love.

How can something that is so basic to our very existence and so integral in our very nature be so hard to manifest? How can what we all long for so deeply be so often beyond our reach?

Simple teachings like those of Jesus when he answered the Pharisees about the greatest law, upon which all the laws and rules are based when he stated, “Love God with all your heart, your mind and your Soul and love your neighbor as yourself.” Although this sounds very simple, anyone who has strived to live by that direction will acknowledge that this may not be so easy to do.

To love God, to truly love God requires living in right relationship with God, which is an I – Thou relationship as described by the theologian Martin Buber in his book “I Thou.” To love yourself is one of the most important elements for psychological health and well-being and the subject of more teachings and books than I can name. To love your neighbor as yourself requires demonstrating both Good Will and the Will to Good to all who share the planet.

Expressing your Divine Spark is a significant way to demonstrate your love and your service to others. Enter coupon code “NGWS50” to instantly download this meditation for only $5 USD.

Perhaps the reason that Jesus guided his disciples to these manifestations of love is because the significance of how to do things affects your behavior and consciousness. Long ago Saint Augustine said “Love God and do as you please” because he knew that if you were truly aligned with God in that “I Thou” relationship that what you would choose to do, how you would choose to treat others, how you would choose to honor and respect others would result in right action and right human relationship.

These principles that are woven into every spiritual teaching are so basic to your personal and societal success and happiness that you need to be reminded that “You Are A Spark of Divine Light.” As that spark it is important that you honor and Love God, that you honor and love yourself, and that you honor and love your fellow man. Ponder On This. Perhaps it is why that reminder inherent in the ancient greeting of Namaste has had such longevity and purpose. It serves as a blessing, but also as a reminder of who you are, and an acknowledgment of your unity with your neighbor and your need to show homage and love to God.

So I encourage you to as you go into the world this week to greet and bless all who cross your path with the meaning of Namaste, I recognize and honor the Divine spark in you as I recognize and honor the Divine spark in me and in so doing I recognize and honor my unity with the Divine.

Remember, this thought serves as a blessing and an honoring of those you greet and automatically aligns you with your own Divine spark, your Soul, and spontaneously brings you into right relationship with God as you serve your fellow man.

When you consciously extend this greeting and these thoughts with intention you are, through the universal law that energy follows thought, serving as an emissary of Goodwill and Right Relationships. You are actively joining with God in your role as a co-creator to be of service and to be a force for goodness, love, and mercy to come into the world. This simple act of kindness, love and grace does have amazing power. It will impact and influence the world around you as it will influence you and all around you in subtle and yet powerful ways.

You can be an agent of change, and a source of blessing and a force for good in the world. You can make a difference and help create the world you desire to be and help to usher in the new age and the new world that has been foretold in the prophecies of old.

A helpful and powerful affirmation, which is my very favorite from my “Awaken to Success: Affirmations for Abundance” CD, is:

I am a spark of Divine Light, it is my nature to shine.”

Therefore, I encourage you to be a blessing to the world and to affirm yourself as a spark of the Divine as I say to you a heartfelt Namaste.

Namaste,

Genevieve

Embracing Your Divine Nature

Embracing God’s Will
and Your Divine Nature

Embrace Your Divine Nature Serenity Sunday article by Genevieve Gerard

What role in your life do you play vs. what role in your life does God play, and how do these work together in a cohesive and cooperative way?

Long ago philosopher
and spiritual teacher
Saint Augustine said,

Pray as though everything depended on God.
Work as though everything depended on you.

This duality of prayer and our individual efforts speak to the underlying confusion of the role that God plays in our lives and our responsibilities as a human being.

On one hand most feel perfectly comfortable taking an issue or a problem to the Lord in prayer and asking for divine intervention however most truly have a harder time surrendering to his divine guidance and will as called for in the famous words of Jesus when he prayed “not my Will but Thine be done.”

As old and wise as this concept is the concept of surrender is often touted but it seems is woefully misunderstood by those on the spiritual path. Surrender is just one of the many concepts where spiritual teachings and spiritual traditions seem to be in conflict. The conflict seems to arise from our misunderstanding of what we are as human beings, the nature of God or the Divine, and most importantly how these diverse influences work together.

On a deeper level of our misunderstanding is our failure to comprehend how spirit and matter work in the intricate dance of creation and co-creation. There seems a contradiction between a human being as a dual being who possesses the spark of Divine Light and the all too limited and struggling individual we too often consider ourselves to be. This dichotomy, this seeming contradiction has long plagued both thinkers and doers alike.

By clarifying these seemingly contradictory natures we can better understand what roles God and prayer play in our life. We then can open ourselves to a deeper comprehension of what it means to be a child of God and a co-creator of our life. This clarification is important because to recognize and appreciate the intricate inter-relationship of these forces in our lives is both encouraging and empowering.

As we explore this question of what role God and prayer plays in our life we are confronted with teachings that all seem to be true, but sadly seem to be very different from one another. This leads to very different conclusions about what we should do in any given moment of time with our life.

It is easy to embrace one truth to the exclusion or surrender of the other things we know to be true. But in so doing we deprive ourselves of the benefit and blessings of our dual nature as a human being as well as a Divine being… a son of man who is also a child of God.

Thought leaders, spiritual teachers, and the common mythos of society tell us that we are responsible for everything that happens in our life. And I believe that is true. Right alongside that truth is the concept that “energy follows thought.” And that I believe, and it has even been proven by science to be, also true. Woven alongside these truths is something that men and woman of faith have long knownprayer is a powerful force that can have a profound impact on life situations and events.

Ultimately, our desire to call upon the support of the Divine and invoke Divine Will and right action can give us a great peace and a great calmness when we call upon the higher wisdom of God and our Soul to direct the events and circumstances of our life.

Thankfully, we can both strive and surrender when we focus on our dual nature as a child of God and a co-creator with God, powerful beyond our imagining when we are aligned with our Soul purpose and Divine Will.

Amazingly both these truths manifest and are demonstrated over and over again despite our limited understanding of how they work together in the unity of our nature. Our life tends to lead an individual to embrace one element of truth and ignore the other. This is unfortunate because this limitation of our comprehension can deprive us of the power & influence we have over our life as a co-creator and the comfort & support that is available to us as a child of God. We can experience the sweet support of surrendering to the wisdom of our Soul and God and still use all of the powers of positive thought to manifest the life that we envision and desire.

The motivation, influence, and mastery that results when you take responsibility for your co-creator role in life is powerful, profound and inspiring. Likewise, the peace, joy, and comfort that you can experience when you surrender to the Divine (take it to the Lord in prayer and invoke or yield to Divine Will) is a blessing & solace that is also profoundly inspiring. The point that so often is missed as you may vacillate between your human nature and your Divine nature, is that it is not an either-or situation.

It is an answer that can only be really clear when you understand that your real power and ability to resolve these truths lies in your burgeoning awareness of your nature. This nature, as a Soul-integrated and ultimately Soul-infused personality, reveals a mystery, magic and a power that humanity is just beginning to understand and embrace.

This dual state of being is a consciousness advocated in the Ageless Wisdom that has been hinted at but is only now in the fullness of time coming to light in spiritual teachings as a part of an enlightened awareness. As beings of spirit, aligned with and surrendered to the Will of God, and as a physical being having a spiritual experience, you can span these states of co-creator and create.

It may well be a concept you have never previously considered, but, on deeper exploration provides the continuity that clarifies so many of the contradictions that you may have been exploring. When you reframe and reconsider the different roles of your Soul as a spark of Divine Light you may realize that an essential part of your being is that we are all One with Source (God.) You then can think about your personality as the unification & integration of the influences of your physical body, your emotions, and your mind, seeing your whole being as the miracle that your life truly is.

The amazing thing about being a human being is that you are both fully human, driven by your personality needs and desires and you are a beloved child of God, imbued with a spark of unity with God to become in your life co-creators of the life that manifests before you. Therefore, you dance between invoking and surrendering. You can pray and petition with faith. And, at times even bargain with God.

There is something very peaceful about surrendering to God and just having faith that God will guide your steps and direct your life. But God did not create a human being to be a passive being. God gave you the amazing power and potential to work in harmonious cooperation with his creation process. He gave you a mind, the power to love and free will so you could learn to live a life that bridges from animal man to Divine child of the son of God.

As we strive to demonstrate our faith in God, it is important to see how God has demonstrated His faith in us. He has granted us the position of co-creator of our life as a child of God. He has given us the powerful principles of “energy follows thought” to teach us the “Laws of Attraction.”

As you learn to live in harmony and understand the direction of your Soul and your Divine nature, you also must learn to direct the creative power of your thoughts, control the power and influence of your fears and direct and redefine your personality cravings while learning the meaning of love.

It is not an easy task you have been given to be a human being and a child of God. However, learning to be a co-creator and take advantage of the sweet support of surrender allows you to manifest this duality in your life and by learning to express this in your everyday life you are in for an exciting and great adventure that will open you to be and become all that you were meant to be, all that you truly are. This is the great quest for the new consciousness and new awareness for a new age.

It is in the integration of your Soul and infusion of your personality with your Soul that the full glory, potential and power of what it means to be a Son of God and a Son of Man here on planet earth, is realized.

Embrace God’s Will and Your Divine Nature!

Namaste,

To Be Free

Read Genevieve Gerard's thoughts on Being Free

Around 4th of July,
our thoughts turn to freedom
.

In the 241 years since a gathering of revolutionaries met and decided to risk their lives in a quest for freedom, this date has stood out, certainly for Americans but also as an example to the wide world of the importance and value of freedom.

At that gathering so long ago, the United Sates of America Founding Fathers declared freedom to be an inalienable right of a human being. This was a powerful thought that spread throughout the world. It was at the time a synthesis of thought that emerged from the philosophy and expression of what has been called by scholars, “The Age of Enlightenment.”

Certainly, nothing in human history until that fateful act of defiance had identified freedom as a right, a right given to mankind by its creator. This powerful thought still impacts lives, governments, policies, and humanity across countries and cultures today, and will influence people for years to come.

Such is the power in a thought. This is certainly a demonstration of the powerful principle that “energy follows thought.”

I am sure that every veteran who ever offered their service and their honor to fight and quite possibly die, did so in the name of preserving freedom for those who waited at home.

Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause.”
     ― Abraham Lincoln

But war has always taken its toll on those who served. The very inhumanity of war, on whatever shore has left behind warriors wounded in body, mind or spirit. For many of our veterans, they long to be free of the memories, the nightmares and the vigilance required by war.

As our technology and science is applied to war we have veterans returning with unprecedented pain. There are many reasons for this. It, unfortunately, leaves those who fought to defend us with less freedom than their sacrifice granted us.

It is to provide a way to use the tools of meditation and visualization in the service and for the benefit of our veterans that I am offering a gift to any and all veterans. Over the years I have created several meditations and visualizations that have been offered to people with great success, people from all walks of life.

Recently, I created a special series of meditations and visualizations to help with many of the challenges that are faced by our veterans. This 4th of July weekend through midnight the 4th of July, I am offering for FREE a Veteran’s Bundle called “I’m Free.”

This $64 bundle is available for FREE to veterans over the 4th of July holiday week. It contains 3 meditations “I’m Free to Sleep,” “I’m Free to Relax” and “I’m Feeling Free.” For more in-depth details about these three products look here.

Please help deliver this gift to any you know who could benefit from becoming free of the residuals of war.

I have created a special website, www.For-Veterans.com to support our veterans. In addition to the Veteran’s Bundle gift it has articles and information special for veterans and posts from those who have also dealt with the issues of recovery and restitution from war.

It is with gratitude to those who have served that I offer this gift bundle.

I thank you for the safety and security you have provided me and hope the healing and resolution available in these techniques provide restitution from the ravages of war.

Namaste, (which means the divinity in me salutes the divinity in you)

Harnessing The Power Of Your Mind

Harnessing the Power of Your Mind

Harnessing The Power Of Your Mind - Genevieve Gerard

Your mind is a powerful tool.

As with any tool, how effective it is depends upon how it is used.

Learning to use the great and amazing power of your thoughts to manifest your life’s purpose and fulfill your goals is a primary reason that many people explore the subject of consciousness.

It takes only a minute of sitting quietly and observing what you are thinking to realize that the quicksilver nature of thought is so multidimensional and diverse and scattered that if the principle that “energy follows thought” is true and our thoughts create our reality as the “Law of Attraction” claims, we all have some work we need to do if we want to use our mind effectively and efficiently.

Gaining mastery over the mind, particularly controlling the free flow and often negative input of unbridled thoughts is a challenge. In your 1 minute of observation of the nature of your unfocused and uncontrolled thoughts you probably noticed how much of your thoughts reflect what you fear. This is not a judgment of you, but a simple observation of the nature of what spiritual teachers have for centuries or longer referred to as the “monkey mind.”

The practice of meditation provides a variety of techniques to help you harness the power of your mind and quiet the mindless chatter of the “monkey mind.” Different ways work differently for different people and at different times. You could certainly ignore the input from the world of meditation and teachings about consciousness were it not for the understanding of the mechanics of the “Law of Attraction” and the principle that “energy follows thought.”

This pesky idea that your thoughts have power, indeed the power to create your reality and can help by working for you, or can unfortunately work against you is a powerful motivator to explore how these subtle principles and laws work. These revelations about the power of your thoughts are not new. Way back in biblical times the book of Proverbs stated “As a man thinketh, so shall he be.”

Since that time, there have been a variety of teachers and preachers, business leaders and thought leaders who have both validated and expanded on that powerful wisdom. In writing this Wisdom Wednesday Blog I realize that I could fill the whole post with books and resources of those who praise the truth and power of your mind. I will, if you like, provide some links to some that I believe are the best at explaining or teaching about this important issue and help you explore these concepts from a variety of teachers and approaches.

A gift of one of my very favorites, Napoleon Hill’s life changing book “Think and Grow Rich.” This is a free Adobe PDF of the full book that you can download and ponder on.

Napoleon Hill once stated that “goals are dreams with deadlines.” Manifesting your dreams and fulfilling your life’s purpose is an important reason to use the tools and techniques of meditation to harness the power of your mind and make it work for your benefit in your life.

My main purpose in this blog today is to discuss this ancient wisdom within a perspective of what techniques you can use and activate in your life to help you harness this awesome power of your mind to make it a tool to help you achieve your life and your Soul purpose.

One technique that I have found valuable in my own practice and in my years of coaching and counseling people is that you begin just by self-observation. I recommend starting with committing just 3 minutes a day to consciously observe your thoughts. When you observe a negative or fear based thought flash through your mind, edit it, correct it and replace it with a conscious thought of what you want and are striving to manifest in your life.

This self-observation, edit, correct (with intention) and replace technique is most important and empowering when what crosses your mind is a fear. To do this consciously and with intention is best achieved in a meditative state while aligning with your Higher Self and focusing upon your life’s purpose. In this alignment you have a greater vision.

This technique is best done from the perspective of what I call “the detached observer,” free of self-judgment or criticism (each of which work against achieving positive thoughts to replace the negative and fear based chatter of the “monkey Mind.”)

In teaching this technique to my coaching clients, most have observed that a daily 3 minute practice of this technique begins major transformation in their lives.

The substitution process of exchanging a negative thought for a positive one can also be used with other meditation techniques such as affirmations or by following a guided meditation. The powerful principle that “energy follows thought” and the activation of “The Law of Attraction,” will be incorporated into your thoughts and life on a multidimensional basis, shifting your thoughts and your perspective on a daily basis.

The more often you practice this technique the better the response in the material world. Your thoughts are more powerful than you realize and your mind is a co-creator in your life in cooperation with the Divine or Source or however you envision the Creator to be.

The choice is yours. The time to activate the awesome power of your mind to live the life you have always envisioned is NOW. It is your life and your power to master.

Namaste,

Genevieve
