This article is a part of my on-going series on Angels.

To share with you the mystery and magnificence of the presence of Angels in human experience, I find that I must discuss the subtle role that angels play to bring a unique energy into manifestation.

A part of the angelic mission and purpose, when they choose to come to the earthly realm, is to embody an energy that needs to be manifested in humanity.

It is an act of love and service to humanity that these angelic beings take on this mission.  The celestial beings that focus on a specific and particular energy are often called Devas since the choice to embody a specific energy is a mysterious part of how the angelic realm (a realm of pure energy) works to create energy and influence matter.

The heavenly realm reflects Divine Will at the source of all creation.  The heavenly hosts have an opportunity to serve as the messengers to help with the manifestations of Divine Light and Divine Love that it is the Will of God to provide for humanity.

This choice is one of great service and great sacrifice for an angel whose substance is pure Light and pure Love.  To choose to embody a particular energy requires the angel moving from what is unlimited by either time or space to a specific focus.  This is, by definition contained and, therefore, limited.  It is a sacrifice fueled by Divine Love and empowered by Divine Will.  It is the work for which the angels were created, so it is simultaneously their burden and their joy.

This inner working of the angelic kingdom is not something that is explored and expressed very often.  The mechanism is the same as what is manifested for an angel to become an individualized guardian angel.  That is a powerful and personalized service.  This is different in a subtle way because it is more impersonal.

The transition to becoming available to the needs of humankind is a somewhat different service for an angel as their influence is more generalized and I imagine may be less rewarding since the result is more general and diffused.

For the angels, infused with Divine Love and directed only by Divine Will, there is a willingness to serve the Lord of creation to a task trusting in Divine Wisdom.  This need of humanity or a human individual becomes the life work and the life purpose of that angelic expression. 

As the veils between the planes of the angelic realm are thinning, more and more awareness of angelic presence is coming into human consciousness.  Angels are coming into a greater understanding of the human experience, as humans are increasing their knowledge and awareness of the angelic realm.

Make friends with the angels, who though invisible are always with you. Often invoke them, constantly praise them, and make good use of their help and assistance in all your temporal and spiritual affairs.

This is a dynamic transition in the overall Divine plan of evolution.  Human consciousness is evolutionary.  Angelic consciousness is in-volutionary.  What all of this means, especially in this amazing transformation that is being revealed in this time of change is just now beginning to be revealed.

More and more individuals are becoming conscious of angelic beings and their presence and influence on human experience.  Angels are being called upon more and more with the asking for help and guidance through the extensive use of angel cards and the invocation of angelic presence in prayers, there is a response of love and compassion.

This response is wider than just a response from your Guardian Angel.  The heavenly hosts are hearing and responding to the invitation from the human hearts for greater companionship.

Since the essence of angels is composed of Love, this increased invitation and invocation of humanity for the presence of angels increases the awareness of the blending of Divine Love with the human experience.

This building of an energetic bridge from the angelic kingdom to the human material world has a profound influence.  Since your Soul is composed of the same substance as the angels and is known as your solar angel, this calling forth of the presence of angels builds more and more energetic etheric substance along the rainbow bridge.  This not only helps and enhances the ability of angels to respond to your call but forges a pathway along what is known as the Antahkarana (the rainbow bridge) for you to have a greater conscious awareness of the wisdom, the Love and the Power of your Soul.

This greater awareness and greater merging of angelic presence open the human consciousness to a vast world that lies beyond the limitations and restrictions of the material world.  Learning to listen to the soft, gentle promptings of your Soul opens you to a greater perspective of what is real.

Imagination is a gift of your higher mind and is powerful and dynamic.  It fuels your understanding and appreciation of a reality that lies beyond the five senses of matter.

Intuition, empathy, and telepathy all exist in this space beyond the limitations of your five senses.  Learning to sense, to hear, to see and to feel these subtle energies are a part of claiming enlightened awareness.

The essence of life is beyond matter.  Love, joy, peace are all real powers that have a profound impact upon and influence in your life.  Angel’s help these subtle energies manifest in a way that can be more easily experienced by your human mind and sensed emotionally.

At times, great angels choose to come to earth and bring with them specific energies that humanity needs.  This is for these presences an act of Love and an act of service, for with their descent to earth and the material world, they become a source of Divine Love and amazing grace as an active force to manifest God’s overall plan on earth.

These great angels are aligned with Divine Will and Divine Love by their very nature.  They serve as God’s emissaries.  The individual energies that they embody and deliver to humanity can become known to you through revelation in meditation.

Angels offer the energies that they have been charged to bring into human awareness in a subtle way that relies upon those who reach out to experience their gifts of the spirit, like telepathy and imagination.  A part of the expanding of your consciousness to listen with your heart to the whisper of their energetic impression, which is what brings about the healing they bring and the help they offer to humankind.

This blending and opening from the angelic realm to human consciousness is a special blessing.  Many of the great Devas and Angels who appear to help humanity are emissaries of the Divine Mother, the female part of the heart of God and are responding to the prayers of humanity.

These great presences can be touched in meditation and may provide healing or help in response to humankind’s needs.   They are a part of the energetic interaction of heaven and earth, God and man, the world of the visible and the invisible.

In times of exalted meditation, they may reveal to you their name or their purpose and, when that happens, that is an invitation for you to invite and invoke the extraordinary energy they bring into your own life for your benefit and blessing.

Their presence, especially when revealed in meditation can have not only significant healing power but can help bring into manifestation and conscious awareness energies that can help humanity face times of great challenge.

Because these great Angels and Devas are of the substance of divine love, they manifest as spirits who are richly imbued with the essence that they are charged to help bring into manifestation.

When their name and purpose are revealed, you are invited to tap into that energy.

This article is part of my ongoing series on Angels. 

Those who cannot quite seem to believe in angels want to believe.

It is certainly comforting and reassuring to think that as God watches over us through all of our challenges in life, that there are messengers and emissaries of the Divine to help and guide us (the late Latin meaning of angelus is “messenger of God”.)

The best-known, and most often considered angelic presence, is your guardian angel.

As I wrote in, “Meeting Your Guardian Angel,” there is a special relationship between your Soul, which resides in the 5th kingdom, and the kingdom of the angelic realm.

Today, I would like you to consider and explore the presence and purpose of what I call Guiding Angels.

The presence of guiding angels in your life is more subtle and less dramatic than your guardian angel. Guardian Angels have an angelic commitment to your Soul and your life that is in place throughout the whole of your life. Whereas, guiding angels have a role that engages with a variety of individuals throughout a variety of life circumstances. Because of this, guiding angels have a greater perspective on the human experience that helps them appreciate and understand the subtle factors of what may concern you.

Since angels are beings of pure energy and light, they are not a part of the world of substance, form and matter. Their nature is different from that of a human being. They are created in the substance of Divine Love, and all their life force and interaction with the human kingdom is colored by and influenced by that.

There are changes happening in the world that have thinned the veil between the human kingdom and the angelic kingdom. This thinning permits a greater ease of communication and awareness of angels. This awareness is a profound change and provides to the human experience resources and support that are beyond the five senses.

Guiding Angels have chosen to provide guidance to human beings through their ability to bridge Divine Love and Wisdom. These connections with and understanding of human life events and challenges are beneficial to a Guiding Angels evolutionary life experience, so it is a mutually beneficial relationship.

Angels Are Watching Over Us

These angels in the angelic kingdom choose to observe your life and provide the support of their presence and guidance especially in times of a particular challenge or difficulty. Their commitment to you is temporary, unlike the commitment of your Guardian Angel. These angels come and go taking what they have learned in their experience with you to help others. In this way, their perspective serves as a bridge from the heavenly to the human world.

To touch the realm of angels and to call upon and use their support in your daily life requires some shifts in your consciousness and understanding. The rules are different in the realm in which angels live. Angels have their evolutionary path and connection with and communication with the human world is as unique and different for them as communing with Angels is for you.

Just as you are learning to recognize what the touch of an angel feels like, so they are learning how to make their presence known to you.

Tips to Hearing the Whisper of a Guiding Angel

There are certain ways that angels have made their presence known throughout the history of the world and these are still in use today. However, as the separation between these two worlds is narrowing, new ways of communicating their presence are emerging. The revelations that communication between these two realities brings is emerging as a key element of increasing the awareness of your Soul’s role in your life.

When you open your heart and your mind to the active relationship with your Soul, through meditation or prayer, you reveal the presence and communion with angels as an added benefit. For this reason, it is good to begin to discriminate and understand some of the ways that angels make their presence known to you.

Communication with the angelic realm is a still and quiet whisper through a telepathic connection. It is more sensing than hearing, more of an impression. To hear the whispering guidance of an angel is truly a blessing. Realize though that it is subtle and different. It comes with absolutely no demands, requirements, expectations or attachment to the outcome. In this way, it is a unique relationship. The only purpose is the greater good in your life.

Expanding your consciousness and listening to the whisper of your guiding angel, enables you to explore new ways of being that are more congruent with the wisdom and perspective of your Higher Self. Guiding angels provide this gentle nudge from the realm of spirit.

This angelic communication leaves a sense of being loved so deeply and unconditionally that it can only be understood in the heart. Love, joy, and peace are the residuals of guiding angels transforming touch.

I suggest that you set aside some time for prayer and meditation to invoke and invite the presence of your guiding Angels.

Since the dawn of creation, people have used rituals to call upon the presence of angels. A ritual both helps you to calm your mind of the fears and chattering that can drown out the still silent whisper of your angel’s voice.

To create a call to the Angels to provide you help and guidance, bring your mind to a point of calm, open your heart to receive love, and be quiet with an open receptivity to the thoughts and impression of your Soul to guide you in your life.

Many people who regularly meditate have a special place that they use. It may be a special chair or a special view. Some have candles or have designated particular incense that helps them calm their mind and open their heart as they invite the Light of their Soul.

There are as many ways to create a sacred space as there are people on earth. None of them is wrong. The intention that goes into the creation of sacred space is a part of the empowerment. That intention helps your energy, whether, through prayer or meditation, invocation or affirmation connect you with your Higher Self and the angelic world. Ponder on this.

If you create such a sacred space for yourself, I always suggest that you have a journal in easy reach to record the promptings and insights you receive.

Throughout the ages, special chapels in churches have been used for meditation, prayer and the communion with your Soul and Angels. If you use one of these sacred spaces, I also suggest you bring your journal to record the thoughts and impressions you receive. The whispering of angels or the silent prompting of your Soul can all too easily be drowned out by the noise of life, so what your record in these special times is of special import and value.

Most important, in this sacred time, I open my mind and my heart to receive the guidance of my angels. I look to the wisdom of my Soul to clarify my choices and inspire my thinking that I may be an instrument of Divine Love for the aid and service to the world.

I also give thanks for the blessings I am about to receive. I welcome my guiding angels and appreciate their presence in my life.

Finally know that your prayers, your meditation and your invocation help to bring the realm of the angelic closer to the world of matter.

Angels are all around us.

They are composed of pure energy and pure Light so you may go through your whole life and never be aware of their Presence.

You may have at times felt their presence.

You may have never wondered about angels at all. Since they are a part of the realm of what is to our physical eye invisible you could have completely rejected angels as being real at all.

For many people life is easier if they reject anything that cannot be experienced with their sense of touch, sight, smell, or sound. Of course, sensing or feeling is a part of our sensory awareness also but, not in the same category as the physical senses of the body.

If you are among those who have felt or sensed the presence of angels, there may be a great deal about the nature of angels that have never been explained. Even among those who believe in angels, there is a myriad of theories that may be presented as facts. The truth is that one of the limitations of being in a human experience right now is that there is a lot about angels that is kept behind the veil.

Yet, you may very well sense angelic presences as a part of your life experience. You may have felt their benevolence as something you could call upon for help or support in particularly challenging or troubling times in your life. That is certainly possible and among those who have called upon angels for help, protection or guidance many stories are told. Indeed, your experiences when you open to the angelic kingdom can add to the lore of angels when help is provided, and miracles happen.

How Can I Sense Angels

Angelic communication is a part of coming into contact and harmony with your Soul. Your Soul is the bridging part of your being that opens you beyond the limitations of your body. When you open your heart to love you expand your awareness.

By opening to the Presence of your Soul and by opening your heart to love you open your life to other subtle frequencies of reality that are beyond the restraints of dense matter. It is with this expanded awareness that you can commune with angels.

Opening your consciousness to your Soul opens you to a vast realm of life that exists beyond what is perceived by the five senses. It opens you into an expanded reality that incorporates miracles and expands your understanding of the nature of subtle energies. This realm of reality beyond the input of the five senses is very real. It is the reality of you as a Soul, having a human adventure. It is the reality of you as a child of God. It is the realm of which co-creation with the Divine happens. It is the realm inhabited by angels.

Open yourself to an encounter with heaven, be as a little child.
Release your desire to the winds of the universe.

What Are The Steps To Being Open To An Angel

Meditation is one of the key portals to this reality. Prayer also serves as a gateway. Understanding this merger of spiritual energy in a way that brings perception to the mind of reality beyond the five senses will expand your awareness. Ponder on this.

The principle of free will is an essential aspect of spiritual life. Therefore, invitation and invocation are necessary steps to experiencing your Soul, and communicate with and experiencing angels. The presence of your Soul, angelic presences, and even the direction of the Divine respond to invitation and invocation.

Free will is a universal law. It functions much like other universal laws and principles like the law of attraction, like the principle that energy follows thought and a variety of other so-called spiritual laws. These laws have been woven into the very substance of creation and must be adhered to by even the creator. This is why meditation and prayer are such important parts of opening your life to spiritual realities. When you meditate or pray you are inviting and invoking, thus making it possible for you to cross the veil and enter the angelic kingdom.

As I mentioned in my “Meeting You Guardian Angel” article, your personal Guardian Angel is committed to you, and therefore is the most accessible to you of the angels of the Angelic Kingdom. However, other angels remain close to human life, and human experiences that are charged with, and have taken responsibility for, interfacing with human lives. Those angels are most accessible to you when you call for help, guidance or Divine Intervention.

How To Call Upon An Angel

To call upon angels for help, guidance or Divine Intervention is a very specific type of inter-relationship with an angelic presence. It requires invocation and invitation. In most instances invocation and invitation come when you pray, asking for help. Since one of the primary functions of an angel is a messenger from God, many see asking for angelic assistance as a way of asking for God’s help. They are all on the same team.

When in response to your prayer you sense the presence of an angel, it is time to request help and support. Angels, especially those angels whose mission is to provide aid and support to humanity, often are more available in those places where people congregate to bridge the veil from matter to spirit. That is why churches and temples are often the easiest places to make contact with the angelic realm or for some, their own Soul. The aggregate energy that is formed from the years of human intention eases this communication between worlds.

The cathedrals of the world have long been a place where angels gather. The quest for access from the material to the spiritual has charged the energy in ways that can facilitate your request. For this reason, you might wish to go to a place of worship when you are calling for divine help. Space or distance do not limit angels, but the energetic pathways in these areas have been reinforced by others who have preceded you in asking for angelic or Divine help.

Invitation and Invocation Angelic Ritual

When inviting and invoking angels I have always liked the ritual of lighting a candle. To me, the golden white light of a candle is symbolic of the Light of my Soul. Before I seek communion with what is spiritual I invoke the words “Calm Your Mind, Open Your Heart, Invite The Light.” You may have noticed that this is an injunction that I use to open the energy in almost all of my guided meditations.

Some have shared with me that they use this phrase and these world like a Mantra, especially in times of great need or stress.

The Mantram I shared in my article “Meeting Your Guardian Angel” remains one of my very favorite Mantras to invoke and invite angelic Presence. I will share it with you again here.

Say in your mind and heart this Mantra of Invitation.

Beloved Come

Infuse . . . Inflame . . . Instill . . .

Incorporate in living substance,

All Thy Will.

Then sit quietly and receptively in the silence allowing the time and space for angelic contact.

By this ritual, the lighting of a candle, calming your mind, opening your heart and inviting in the Light, then issuing the invitation with the Mantram, you have created a sacred space for angelic contact.

As always, I recommend that you have a journal and pen available to record any thoughts, insights or impressions you receive in the silence.

Please Note: When you request help from the angels be aware that there are angels all around you, but Divine intervention always is aligned with Divine Will and the greatest good. That perspective may not be in keeping with what you want, but is always for what is best for all who are concerned.

Open your awareness to the realm of angels and the guidance of your Soul to receive the blessings and benefits in your life of an expansion of your consciousness into the greater scope of reality. Let the love of the angels who have responded to your invitation enfold you and support you. Then express your gratitude to the angels and return to your daily life.

In the realm of the invisible, where your Soul resides there is a Presence that you can bring into your conscious awareness that is your Guardian Angel.

To begin to open your mind and your heart to a greater and more conscious awareness of the Presence of your Soul starts you on a journey of living within the full scope of your being with your Soul a part of your conscious everyday awareness.

One of the benefits and blessings that come with this relationship with your Soul is that you can begin to be aware of, and access more of, the invisible world that exists beyond the material world of spirit.

Within the dominion of the Soul are the angelic beings that are, like your Soul, connected with and supportive of your life. Perhaps one of the most significant of these is your Guardian Angel.

You can connect with and develop a relationship with your Soul through Meditation by the act of invitation and invocation. You can also open your heart and your mind to the impressions and guidance of your Guardian Angel.

Meditation is the portal through which you can experience and discover a world more magical and fantastic than you had ever dared to dream. The nature of your Soul is Love and as you develop a conscious relationship with your Soul that Love and that Healing Presence becomes ever more available to your conscious mind and awareness.

This Love is Divine Love and is therefore unconditional. It rejoices in the good that you do with no requirement that you do good. It is available to you but makes absolutely no demands, and it gives, in response to each time you invite it through meditation, exactly what you are ready to receive, no more, no less.

The same is true of connecting to Guardian Angels.

Your Guardian Angel made a commitment to you, to your life, and whether or not you ever choose to become aware of that Presence consciously or not, it is there for you.

In this way, your Soul Presence and your Guardian Angel are alike. Both are composed of the essence of Divine Love. Both Love you unconditionally. Both await in readiness and willingness your desire for relationship with absolutely no demand or requirement that you ever turn to them.

The full extent of this incredible nature of unconditional love is beyond the typical experience of our human consciousness. It reveals the truth that God is Love, and on some level may explain some of the mystery of how God demonstrates and expresses Love to us through the emissary of your Soul and your Guardian Angel.

So much of the true nature of the life of the Soul and the Presence of the Guardian Angel is a mystery because the concepts of eternal life and eternal commitments of Love are beyond what our human personality, ego, mind or even emotions can truly grasp.

However, when you open yourself, your mind and your heart to the experience of Divine Love, whether it is through prayer or meditation, the grace and the joy that accompanies that inflowing blessing can be amazing.

Just know that when you turn your attention to Divine Love it is available to you for the asking.

When you open to the Presence, whether it be to call upon your own Soul for greater relationship, insight or wisdom, or to call upon God in prayer or your own Guardian Angel, there is no wrong way to do it.

How To Meet Your Guardian Angel

All of the teachers and guides who have ever walked the earth in the annals of time can only share their wisdom and insight from the perspective of what worked for them or what was revealed to them. Although their teachings or my own can be used as a guide, this journey is unique to you.

Your Soul and your Guardian Angel are both deeply committed to you and your life experience so that you learn, grow and manifest the plan and purpose that guides all lives. That there are an overall plan and purpose of evolution is to me both comforting and inspiring. To call upon your Guardian Angel and your Soul to receive the wisdom, insight, and revelation to understand and support your manifestation and fulfillment of that purpose just makes sense. To leave such powerful and dynamic resources untapped does not.

My writings and my guided meditations provide you, to the best of my ability, an opening to these energies. However; the experience you get when you make the conscious choice to open yourself to your relationship with your Soul or your Guardian Angel is completely individual to you, and it is determined by your readiness and willingness to be receptive to it.

That said I will provide you with a simple technique to use to open the portal to meeting your Guardian Angel.

 

A Simple Technique to Meet Your Guardian Angel

As always, I remind you to Calm Your Mind, Open Your Heart, and Invite the Light.

Sit quietly and receptively with the intention to come into conscious awareness of your Guardian Angel. It is always helpful in meditation to have your spine aligned and your feet firmly on the earth.

Bring your awareness to your heart and imagine a connection of Light from your heart to the top of your head (called your crown chakra.) Imagine that Light continuing to ascend to a radiant point of Light 3 to 6 feet above your physical head (which represents your Soul.)

Realize that by doing that simple visualization from your crown to the Light of your Soul you are building, with intention and etheric substance, a rainbow bridge to your Soul that is called the Antahkarana.

Then say in your mind and heart this
Mantra of Invitation:

Beloved Come

Infuse . . . Inflame . . . Instill . . .

Incorporate in living substance,

All Thy Will.

Then I recommend sitting quietly and receptively for the next 10 to 15 minutes. In that time if you are keeping a Spiritual Journal (as I recommend) you may wish to record the impressions and insights you receive.

Remember that communication with the Angelic realm and the Soul comes in the stillness.

An attitude of gratitude for what you have received is also always a good idea.

Once the time you have set aside for meditation has passed return to your daily life and agenda knowing you are enhancing and empowering your life by keeping this sacred time.

 

I know that your life will be blessed by this intention and invitation to Meet Your Guardian Angel. This ability is your birthright as a child of God.
